[City of Magnolia]
Today was Saturday, and Ivan Dreyar was being as lazy as he could.
He was in the guild training grounds, laying down on the grass his shirt off and pants rolled up, tanning. Something that people did here, though not as popular as it was back on earth. Also, there weren't that many beaches here, well near Magnolia at least.
So, Ivan had decided to just lay outside.
"What in the hells are you doing?"
Ivan cracked his eyes open, Gildart's stood over him with a loaf of bread in hand. His friend was sweating like an ice cube out in the sun, his red hair looking like he had just walked out from the water.
Ivan sighed. "Tanning."
Gildarts snorted. "I can see that."
The red-haired teen crashed to the grass next to Ivan still eating away at his loaf of bread. For a while the two young mages were silent, laying down on the grass, bathing in the sun, and resting.
Moments later and Ivan opened his eyes looking around, Gildarts was asleep near to him loaf of bread in hand. He chuckled, getting up.
He yawned and stretched as he looked around the guilds training grounds.
It really was a beautiful day.
He walked down the hill overviewing the training grounds and guild, admiring the flowers all around him as he walked. He picked one, blue in color, not his favorite color, but still nice.
As he made his way to the guild he thought about the past months, well only two months. While he had long thought about this world, magic, and his future. It we're the past two months that seemed to be preparing him in away.
Strange as the idea might be he did however appreciate it.
He stopped walking, standing in the center of the training grounds.
He closed his eyes.
Months ago, what he was about to do would have been a dream, now it was a reality.
Ivan let his hands move out as he began to reach into his container, the motions all familiar, all natural to him. There he found what he was looking for, his magic. He pulled on it.
Power flooded through him, carried by the channel already in his body, arteries, muscles, and even his nerves, were alive with magical power.
Around him darkness formed from nothing; light disappeared as spots of black began surrounding him, his shadow deepening into something not so shadow at all.
Then all that liquid darkness began to condense on him, pulled towards him with an effort of will, as it he did he began to morph it. Visualize what he wanted it to become. Darkness magic was slow Ivan had found, not a surprise, darkness was not known to be fast, that was lights job.
Half-minute passed, a long time if one was in battle, though not much for training.
Armor formed around Ivan, it was bulky in size, made of all the darkness Ivan could control for now. It almost had the appearance of some hulking black demon, more aligned with a dark wizards magic that one from a legal guild.
That thought got a laugh from Ivan.
'Alright I'm not an edgelord...just practical and creative' He thought.
The amor was thick and unnatural as the light around it seemed to warp and the air sucked in by the armors pulling force. When Ivan walked his steps crushed into the ground, the world around him slowly warping like a haze.
'Time for a practical test.'
Ivan stopped only for a moment, then he moved as fast as he could. It was nothing amazing, he might be even slower than he had been without the armor, he stopped.
'Well speed is shit as expected.'
He lifted his hand up and then punched the ground. The earth broke apart, not large, but small, just the size of his magical gauntleted hand. Though what was interesting was when Ivan moved his hand, when he did it felt heavier. It was heavier, he looked at it, small rocks had clung to it.
'The rocks didn't stick...the, ahh, well that makes sese.'
Ivan moved his head around; the rocks did not move. He smiled, his face hidden behind the armor. Then he pointed his hand out, and willed the darkness to stop pulling, instead he wanted it to push.
On queue the rocks launched out from his gauntlet at the speed of bullets, ripping throught the air and slamming into a nearby tree.
'Well, that is defiantly going to be useful in a fight, I wonder what the limits are though? The mass of an object is defiantly going to be important, likely even vital.'
Ivan wanting to test the limits of his newly awakened power, thrust both his hand into the ground. He then willed with all his efforts for his darkness to pull, it did with incredible power. So much so he couldn't move his hands back out, that was when Ivan realized something.
'Ahh, I'm an idiot...'
He let go of his demand on the darkness and was then able to move.
'I can't pick up an object heavier than me, I probably just tried to pick up a building worth of earth, but I can't even begin lift half that.'
It made sense, physics could not just disappear even in a magical world.
Ivan sighed.
He felt his magic draining away, the armor slowly becoming weaker and weaker. Shredding itself apart as Ivan's reserves became dangerously low. He canceled the spell letting the armor fade away.
He stood still for a second, contemplating about his first spell, he had a big decision to make.
'What should I name the spell?'
