" So, you know the truth now. Greyson is the hacker, and we need an insider." Erica stated
Emeralde shifted in her seat, her brows furrowed as she processed everything. She knew Avery was acting weird recently, but never in a million years did she think Avery had been replaced.
She nibbled on her bottom lip. Her gaze travelled to Greyson, who already had his eyes on her.
"What is his problem?" Emeralde thought to herself. He has been staring at her since she got here.
She cleared her throat and looked at Erica, " If I'm getting this right. I just need to monitor Avery, I mean Veronica and report her every move."
"Yes." Suzzy agreed
Both Erica and Suzzy got up from their seats and headed for the door. Before she could twist the door handle, Erica turned toward Emerald.
"Oh, and Emeralde, you'll be working with Greyson. And Greyson, no bullying."
"What?" Emeralde questioned.
The door shut, and a chuckle filled the room. She snapped her head towards the man sitting in front of her.
"Is something funny?"
"No,"
She leaned against the sofa, her arms wrapped around her. Greyson cleared his throat.
"Any problem?" Emeralde asked with her brows raised.
"Let's get to know each other for future purposes."
"And why should I comply?"
Greyson scoffed and crossed his arms.
"Listen, Emeralde Gibson. We'd be working together from now on. So we need to know ourselves. I doubt you wanna work with a stranger even though we're not."
"Whatever. You know my name and everything you need to know."
Greyson sighed and leaned forward. With a smirk, he said.
"I doubt I know everything about you, babe. However, I'd love to introduce myself again. The name is Greyson Rufus. Twenty-five years."
"Hold up. You're twenty-five. Mister, you're five years younger than me. As a matter of fact, old enough to be your big sister."
His eyes darkened, and his jaw ticked. "I dare you to repeat yourself, Emearlde Gibson."
Shivers run down her spine. "What do you mean?" she stammered.
" Age is just a number, and I refuse to see you as a big sister after the things we've done."
"What do you mean by' the things we've done?' We've done nothing, Greyson, and it's about time you treat me like your sister and show some respect."
She got up from her seat abruptly, and Greyson did the same. He moved towards her and held her chin.
"You don't need to worry about respect, babe. I'd always respect you even if you don't remember that night. However, I would still refuse to treat you like a sister. You're going to be mine. And I don't plan on letting you go."
