"...Jade."
Terrius's hesitant voice broke through Jade's thoughts.
Jade blinked several times before finally returning to reality. The hallway of Etienne's mansion replaced the terrifying images inside his head. He inhaled deeply, then exhaled through his nose.
One problem at a time.
He could not possibly solve a disaster that hadn't happened yet.
"...Let's go."
Terrius just looked at him instead of stepping forward.
"We should find the others first," Jade continued. "If my guess is correct, everyone's already scattered to the apartments Etienne's family prepared."
Terrius instinctively glanced toward Etienne's bedroom. The door remained closed. Silence filled the hallway.
"..."
Jade noticed it. He knew exactly what Terrius wanted. Etienne was only a few steps away, probably asleep or too exhausted to get out of bed. His gaze focused on Terrius, waiting. If Terrius entered that room now, no one would stop him.
Not Jade. But only for now.
