Several zombies peeled away from the main assault and rushed toward her, far faster than before, their movements jerky but directed.
Tang Li Yue's lips curved.
"Come then."
She pulled something from her sleeve.
They were not needles this time.
She had already learned her lesson about running out of those.
This time, she had prepared better.
Thin metal beads. They were small, smooth, dull gray.
They looked harmless. Except they were not.
Tang Li Yue flicked three into the air. As the first zombie lunged, she struck the nearest bead with the end of her bat.
The bead shattered and a pale powder burst outward.
The zombie staggered. Another two slammed into the cloud and slowed, their limbs stiffening.
Tang Li Yue laughed softly.
"Even dead muscles have reactions. Isn't it lovely? Isn't it fascinating?"
