"Humans, you are all fools—nothing more than food for us. Do you really think you can defeat us with just thirty Kāilùs? Who are you trying to fool?" the Red Lord sneered, one side of his mouth curling in disgust.
"Or are you looking down on us?" he snapped, his expression shifting instantly into anger.
"Wèi, are you crazy?" he snapped, his eyes widening before his brows drew together in irritation.
"Don't drag us into your crazy habit," he snapped, eyes narrowing sharply and lips pressing into a thin line.
"Do you really think all demons are crazy like you?" His voice dripped with mockery as one brow arched.
"And who in their right mind would want to eat an ugly thing like a human?" He glanced sideways with clear disgust.
"Zugo, you—" he snapped, teeth clenched tightly.
"You are unfit to be the Demon Emperor. You bring shame to the royal blood of the demon race. To think all demons are under the rule of a Demon Emperor like you— all hopes for a brighter future are lost. You are a disgra— Kghh!" Before he could finish, his head collapsed onto the ground.
The other smirked.
"Damn, you are one talkative Red Lord. But unfortunately for you, no one talks down to me and lives. Not even the god himself." He flicked open his fan and began fanning himself lazily as he turned and walked away.
He stopped halfway after he noticed started everyone stood frozen in shock. He turned around to look at Lǐ Xùyáng and found him also frozen in shock.
"Ohh, he's supposed to be your opponent? Sorry, I tend to get carried away when I'm pissed. But I can revive him for you if you want." he said with a smirk.
Lǐ Xùyáng shook his head slowly, still shaken by the scene, reluctant to challenge Zugo's power just yet. He then turned around and ordered the Kāilùs to attack. The thirty Kāilùs charged forward at full speed, their eyes blazing with a thirst for blood. The battleground erupted into chaos, the soil turning red, soaked with blood. Lǐ Xùyáng and his cultivator soldiers waited 400 meters away, ready to finish off any demons that escaped the Kāilùs. Zugo paced anxiously at the gate, waiting for the fight to end so he could carry out his mission.
"Damn, the Kāilùs are taking longer than I thought," Zugo muttered, impatience creeping into his voice.
"Oh well, I might as well end this if I want to get it over and done with." With a resigned sigh, he decided to finish it quickly.
"Death Warrant!" he shouted. Instantly, all the demons fell to the ground, growling in agony.
"Sorry to spoil your fun, but your Kāilùs were taking too long," he said, stepping forward with a bored stretch, as if he'd been forced out of comfortable laziness.
Every fighter on the field stared at him in disbelief.
"Now can we go back so that I can do what I came here for? I don't have time to waste with you humans. I still have a vacation waiting for me," he said, a smug smirk curling across his face as he folded his arms.
All the 30 Kāilùs started turning into pale gray stones, then turn into fine, gray ash that fell like dust onto the ground. All the dead corpses of the demon faded away, only leaving behind a round crystal ball. Inside each ball shimmered a deep purple light that pulsed intensely at its center, then gently faded outward, casting a calm, mysterious glow throughout the orb.
The cultivator soldier stepped forward to pick them up. Just as they were about to enter the border gate, multiple glowing red gates erupted behind them—right where the corpses lay—swirling and shifting like a swarm of ethereal doors.
"Great, just when I thought I could get to my purpose, another group of annoying pests shows up. ARGHHH! I've had enough—just die already!"
Immediately after he finished speaking, all the newly emerged demons collapsed to the ground.
"And you better stay dead. Now, where was I? Oh, right—HURRY UP AND GET YOUR ASSES INSIDE THE BORDER, OR YOU'LL BE NEXT TO DROP DEAD!" His expression shifted from soft and gentle to furious, his eyes bloodshot with rage.
"Huuuu! That's better," he muttered, his face returning to its calm, gentle look as he flicked open his fan and started fanning himself while walking through the gate.
