The lightness vanished from Yuki's face. She nodded slowly, thoughtful.

"Yes. A foolish gesture…" She looked at him, a mischievous smile slipping back despite herself. "But at least it means your grand quest, Geto, is limited to this country alone. Isn't that fortunate?"

Geto gave a smile that was almost grateful.

"Perhaps. In a way, I ought to thank Tengen."

His face darkened, and he locked eyes with Yuki, his voice dropping lower.

"That said, the time has come. My operation will begin before the year ends."

The room seemed to freeze. Even the two girls, still captivated by Yuki's stories, went still, listening intently.

"So, everything's ready?" Yuki asked, her carefree air shifting to sharp focus.

Geto nodded slowly.

"Yes. Everything."

A brief smile, tinged with strange excitement, touched his lips.

"I've found a curse of unimaginable power. With it, I can achieve perfect possession. And with that weapon in my hands, the extermination of all the monkeys in Japan will become reality."

Yuki narrowed her eyes, thinking for a moment before answering firmly.

"I hate to say it, but don't forget one thing, Geto: there will be someone in your way. Someone you'll have to defeat."

Geto smiled calmly, almost serenely.

"No one knows that better than me. That's exactly why I must succeed. This curse will give me the edge. In the meantime, I'll set up a diversion."

The silence that followed was heavy.

Yuki straightened, draining her cup of tea in one go.

"In that case, I suppose all that's left is to see where this leads you," she said, amusement flickering back into her voice.

Then, as if struck by a sudden thought, she added:

"Ah, I almost forgot! You won't face just one major obstacle—but two…"

Geto raised an eyebrow, visibly thrown off.

"Two?"

Yuki nodded slowly.

"Yes, two."

Geto's brows knit, intrigue flashing in his eyes.

"Would you care to elaborate?" he asked, his voice sharper now, almost impatient.

Yuki shrugged, feigning nonchalance.

"You'll find out when the time comes," she said, as if the answer were obvious.

Geto studied her for a moment, then let out a sigh, his irritation fading into a resigned curiosity.

Rising with natural grace, Yuki adjusted her garment before flashing him a sly smile.

"Thanks for the meeting, Geto. And good luck with what's ahead."

He tilted his head slightly in reply.

"You staying in the country?" one of the girls asked.

She shook her head.

"Oh no. I've lingered here long enough. Tomorrow I'm off on another adventure."

"Lucky!"

Yuki turned to them, her smile softening.

"When I come back, I'll take you with me," she said, almost solemnly.

The girls lit up instantly, their faces glowing with joy, though their eyes flicked to Geto, seeking his approval.

He watched them for a moment, silent, then nodded, his expression softening.

"Very well," he said.

A joyful cry escaped the girls as they nearly bounced with excitement.

Yuki couldn't help but laugh softly at their enthusiasm. She turned to Geto one last time.

"Take care of this family you've built above all else, Geto."

He gave a slight nod, murmuring quietly:

"I will."

Yuki gave a final wave and stepped out of the room. The two girls, too happy to contain themselves, burst into cheerful chatter about their future journey.

As for Geto, he remained seated. Yuki's words echoed in his mind.

Two obstacles.

His calm smile returned.

The door opened softly, and a large, broad-shouldered man stepped in, his imposing frame nearly filling the room. He wore a long dark t-shirt that emphasized his solid build.

Geto lifted his eyes, his expression neutral.

"Larue, you took your time."

The man gave a sheepish, awkward smile.

"Sorry, boss. I wanted to make sure we had solid intel before coming."

Geto raised a brow, waiting. Larue drew a deep breath before continuing:

"It looks like a potential Special Grade curse has been spotted in the region. Details are still hazy, but… with all the recent activity, it seems likely."

A brief silence fell. In the background, the two girls had stopped laughing, listening curiously.

"A Special Grade, huh?" murmured Geto, his eyes darkening with a mix of thought and excitement.

Larue nodded.

"With the surge of curses lately, two second-year students are being sent out on patrol first."

A faint, almost imperceptible smile curved Geto's lips. He gave a slight nod before rising in a fluid motion, adjusting his coat.

"I see."

He moved slowly toward the door, his steps steady but resolute. Miguel, who had been silent until then, cleared his throat before speaking.

"Want me to come with you?"

Geto turned slightly, eyeing him from the corner of his eye. His smile widened faintly, almost amused.

"No," he said lightly. "I'll go alone. It'll be good to stretch my legs."

Miguel shrugged, clearly used to such answers.

"As you wish. Just be careful."

"Don't worry."

The two girls exchanged a glance, excitement and worry mixing in their expressions. One of them stepped forward timidly.

"Be safe," she said softly.

He paused for a moment and gave them a look that, though serious, was filled with gentleness.

"Always."

Then, without another word, he stepped through the door.
