Chapter 781: The Breath-Concealing Cloaks and the Power of a Single Strike

Boom!

The ground quaked violently, the entire forest trembling as waves of death energy surged like a tide, ready to swallow heaven and earth whole.

Within the rolling death mist, countless gray shadows shot forward, their silhouettes faintly glimmering with black light — the aura of seven-rank Supreme-level Beast Spirits.

By now, Mo Yu's group understood perfectly well — they had been betrayed.

The directions that should have been handled by the Dark Tiger Clan and the Earth Leopard Clan now overflowed with rampaging Beast Spirits converging straight toward them. The truth was plain: those two clans had set them up.

Han Yue's face turned ashen, his eyes like frost, their cold intent sharp enough to pierce flesh. His hatred for the Earth Leopard Clan burned deep and heavy.

"Focus on the ones ahead!" Mo Yu's calm voice cut through the tension.

Though the horde was terrifying, there were no eight-rank Supremes among them. As long as Mo Yu was here, the situation was not hopeless — it was under control.

Han Yue, Cai Lin, and the others regained their focus instantly. Their spiritual power surged like raging flames, blasting against the Beast Spirits in furious waves.

Boom!

Mo Yu's eyes hardened as he faced a seven-rank Beast Spirit. In a flash, his palm pressed against the creature's forehead, and destructive power erupted from within.

Bang!

The Beast Spirit's head exploded instantly, its body falling limp with a hollow thud.

With Mo Yu's help, the seven-rank Beast Spirits before Cai Lin and Han Yue were slain in moments.

But even as their enemies fell, the tide of death energy drew closer, the faces of fresh Beast Spirits emerging through the fog — expressionless, hollow, snarling.

Han Yue's garments were torn and tattered from his earlier battle, but he paid it no mind. His eyes burned with quiet fury as he faced the immense swarm.

"Hahaha! Han Yue, looks like fate's denied you the Treasure Beast's legacy!"

Mocking laughter rang out from afar.

Mo Yu and the others looked up sharply. Upon a giant tree in the distance stood figures cloaked in shadow — the Dark Tiger Clan's Heisha, and beside him, the Earth Leopard Clan's Huang Qi.

"Huang Qi!"

Han Yue's eyes went bloodshot, killing intent surging. His face twisted with rage.

Huang Qi only smiled faintly. "No need to be so furious, Brother Han. Cooperation is built on mutual interest. If you trust so easily, it's only natural that you learn your lesson once in a while."

Han Yue inhaled deeply, forcing his emotions down. But the venomous hatred in his eyes remained. "I gave you more than enough in return. Why betray me?"

Huang Qi smirked. "You did make a decent offer. But I prefer partnerships with higher odds of success — they're safer that way."

The contempt in his tone made his meaning clear: he didn't believe Han Yue's side could ever compete with the Dark Tiger Clan, and thus chose the winning team.

Han Yue's grin was cold and razor-edged. "Fine. I'll remember this, Huang Qi. I hope you never end up in my hands someday."

For a brief second, Huang Qi's confidence flickered. But he quickly recovered, sneering, "If you live long enough to come back for revenge, then we'll see."

The Dark Tiger Clan's Heisha watched from above, smiling idly, perfectly sure of victory. To him, Han Yue's group were walking corpses.

Han Yue's expression darkened further as he gazed upon the charging horde. The thought of retreat surfaced in his mind—

"Wait."

Mo Yu's voice stopped him.

All eyes turned toward him in bewilderment. Was this man mad? To delay escape now was suicide. Could he really be unwilling to abandon the treasure?

But Mo Yu only smiled faintly. "What if I said I might be able to make those Beast Spirits… not see us?"

"Huh?"

Even Cai Lin blinked in confusion.

Mo Yu gestured toward the hidden figures of the treacherous clans. "Look over there. Notice anything? They're cloaked in something—using death energy to mask their presence.

"These Beast Spirits don't see as we do. They sense vitality — life energy. When it's concealed beneath death energy, they're blind to it.

"If their sensing ability is crude enough, all we need is to suppress our own life force completely, and they'll ignore us too."

Han Yue hesitated. "Beast Spirits might have poor perception, but they're incredibly sensitive to vitality. One hint of life, and they'll strike like starving wolves."

He didn't seem convinced Mo Yu could truly block such acute senses.

Without replying, Mo Yu waved his hand, and ten faintly glowing gray garments appeared. Crafted from some unknown material, the cloaks shimmered with an eerie, mysterious aura.

Han Yue's pupils dilated. "That's…?"

"This is the Breath-Concealing Cloak," Mo Yu said with a small smile. "It hides aura, suppresses vitality — perhaps enough to fool even these creatures."

A gift prepared by his true body — a master craftsman. One among many lifesaving tools. And now, it was time to prove its worth.

Cai Lin and the Mang siblings didn't hesitate; they donned the cloaks immediately. Their trust in Mo Yu had long surpassed doubt.

Seeing this, Han Yue clenched his jaw and motioned for his Ximo Clan companions to follow suit.

"Then it's in your hands, Brother Mo."

He refused to flee empty-handed—and if there was a chance to turn the tables, he'd take it. He could tell Mo Yu wasn't speaking out of desperation. That calm confidence… it was worth betting on.

Mo Yu nodded lightly, fastening his own cloak. He trusted the craftsmanship completely.

Meanwhile, on the distant treetop, Heisha sneered. "Still refusing to run? Fools courting death."

Grinning wickedly, he muttered, "Since you want the treasure so badly… you can rot here with it."

Boom!

The storm of Beast Spirits closed in, roaring like thunder. Death energy flooded forward.

A thousand meters.

Five hundred.

Two hundred.

The foul stench of decay filled the air — doom itself pressing down upon them.

But then, when the swarm reached within a hundred meters and the Ximo warriors braced for death—

Something miraculous happened.

The flood split apart.

The surge of death energy parted like waves around an invisible rock. Beast Spirits tore through the air on both sides, roaring past Mo Yu's group — unaware of them entirely.

Even Han Yue's knees weakened as the deadly current swept by, but his astonishment quickly replaced all fear.

"They… they didn't see us…"

"They didn't see us!"

Success!

Even the ever-steady Han Yue couldn't restrain his elation.

But high above, Heisha and Huang Qi's smirks froze on their faces. Their eyes turned dark as rage boiled within them.

They exchanged a meaningful glance, then leaped down from the trees, the air around them filled with killing intent.

"So it seems we've disappointed you," Mo Yu said coolly.

Heisha sneered. "Hidden life-sealing artifacts, is it? Impressive. I admit we underestimated you."

"Underestimation is only the beginning," Mo Yu replied coldly, eyes glinting like steel. "You've yet to learn what real regret feels like."

"Oh?" Heisha chuckled darkly. "Do you really think slipping by a few Beast Spirits gives you the strength to challenge us? Even without them, you're still hopelessly outmatched."

Both the Dark Tiger and Earth Leopard Clans together held over ten seven-rank Supremes. Mo Yu's side barely had eight. Strength favored them heavily.

Han Yue's lips curled into a cold smile. "Then come test that theory."

Mo Yu stepped forward, his expression calm but resolute. "All of you, then. Come at once."

That quiet arrogance struck a nerve. Heisha's face darkened.

"Black Mountain, take four with you—kill him."

Five of his seven-rank Supremes stepped out.

They looked at Mo Yu as if pitying a dead man. Facing five opponents alone—had fear driven him mad?

Cai Lin and the others smirked coldly. They had seen Mo Yu's power firsthand. Not even half-step eighth-ranks could stand against him.

Han Yue's relaxed expression only deepened Heisha's unease. Something was wrong.

"Do it!" He barked.

The five Supremes surged forward, their spiritual energy roaring like a collapsing sky.

Mo Yu watched them approach, his lips curving faintly. "Idiots."

Then his right arm blazed to life.

Violet-gold light flared as tendons and veins pulsed with raw might. The very air trembled with every heartbeat, explosions muffled deep in the pressure around him.

Crack!

His sleeve burst apart, revealing an arm forged like living metal—contained strength so vast it distorted space around it.

Boom!

Power erupted outward, shaking heaven and earth.

Mo Yu swung his arm forward slowly, speaking five words—

"Heaven-Shaking Divine Arm: War Hammer."

The air itself roared.

The five Supremes reacted instantly, their energy erupting into towering dark tigers behind them, merging into one colossal beam of shadow aimed straight at Mo Yu.

Roar!

The darkness howled forth—

Only to be split cleanly apart.

The War Hammer tore through it effortlessly, severing the black beam as if it were paper.

The five Supremes froze in horror, scrambling to retreat.

But it was too late.

The violet arm cut through the void, descending upon them like divine judgment.

Pffft!

One after another, five heads snapped backward as the blow struck. Their eyes froze wide with disbelief before their bodies went still.

Then silence.

Five hearts stopped beating, five bodies collapsed.

In less than a few breaths, five seven-rank Supremes lay dead—killed by a single strike.
