Gladion saluted the six people who all were wearing some kind of masks.
He had arrived in Mossdeep City in hoeen and then immediately went to the outskirts of the city. He had come alone since Hoeen only requested his help. It was not a suprise that they knew that he was part of Kanto Aura Guardians. He had made no effort to hide it from the other region's aura guardians. The common public still thought of Aura Guardians as a myth and legend.
Gladion then went on to the coordinates that he was given, which were outside the city to a nearby mountain range filled with caves.
He found the Aura Guardians of Hoenn there. He did not recognise any well-known figure. Most of them were wearing masks afterall but still the well-known figures of Hoenn were not part of the Aura Guardians like in Kanto where both Koga and Agatha led the Aura Guardian corps.
Gladion thought about this for a moment. In Kanto, the Aura Guardians were led by two legendary shinobi who had protected the region for decades. Their names carried weight. Their presence gave the organisation strength and respect.
Here in Hoenn, it seemed different. The leaders stayed hidden. The famous trainers and gym leaders focused on other duties. Perhaps they believed the Aura Guardians should work quietly in the background. Or perhaps Hoenn had a different tradition.
'Tells you how much the two love Kanto and how much they want to protect it. I can't imagine them being in Team Rocket like in the manga. That would have been crazy bat shit and the world would have been really troublesome.' Gladion thought.
He respected Koga and Agatha. They were legends for a reason. Their loyalty to Kanto was absolute. If they had ever joined Team Rocket, the entire balance of the world would have shifted.
The thought was almost funny in a dark way. Two of the strongest guardians turning against their own region. The chaos would have been unimaginable. Gladion pushed the idea away. It was not worth thinking about. The present was difficult enough.
"Aura Guardian Gladion, thank you for accepting our request," one of them said.
"Let's skip the formalities. What's the situation?" Gladion said.
The Aura Guardians nodded. They liked that the other person was not lauding his superior strength over them as well as the fact that they had to ask for help from Aura Guardians of another region.
The Aura Guardians had known to cooperate before the infinite Pokémon war, but after the war they separated and it was taking time to work together due to the new generation coming into their respective Aura Guardians and their upbringing and hate for the other region. It was taking time to overcome this.
This mission was a start to that cooperation.
The Hoenn Aura Guardian who was in the lead said, "A meteor had fallen in the mountains. Thankfully it was pretty small and thus had not caused much destruction."
"It seemed to have gone and landed into the mountains cave network and it seems that it had some Pokémon on it. We have been getting some strong energy readings from it. Our Lucarios are sensing a very powerful aura from there."
"We have been unable to locate the Pokémon as it seems to have saturated the mountain with its aura. We tried using our Psychic Pokémon to scan the mountain to find its mind but it seems to elude that too. It seems to be Psychic and thus one of the primary reasons that we decided to ask for help."
"All the local Pokemon have fled either deep underground, to the outskirts of the mountains or another place entirely. We have sent people to investigate but it seems that the Pokémon did not like our intrusion near the meteor crash site. We have had two deaths already." He said with a little sadness.
"You have my sympathies."
"They died during their duties. There is no need for sympathy. Anyways, one of them and his Lucario were killed by an energy attack that came out of nowhere and obliterated them completely. The other one and his Medicham had their necks sliced. His Crobat did not even manage to see what happened. Whoever it was, it was fast. Very fast."
"These capabilities match no Pokémon we know of. We have reached the conclusion that we are dealing with an extraterrestrial Pokémon." The Aura Guardian said seriously.
Another one added grimly, "And a strong one at that."
"We need to find if the Pokémon is safe enough for the surroundings and our planet." He said.
Despite two of his comrades dying, the Aura Guardian was not looking for revenge. This told Gladion how much they liked sticking to their duty.
They did not hate the Pokemon for killing their comrades after all it was the nature of a Pokemon to protect its territory. There purpose for investigating the situation was not to kill the threat but for something else.
Gladion had read one of the Aura Guardians' reports from about a decade ago where they had found Lunatone and Solrock who were also extraterrestrial Pokémon to see if they were safe for the planet and would not cause radiation or would harm their surroundings and surrounding Pokémon.
That was one of the duties of the Aura Guardians: to see if any new species of Pokémon would be a threat to the region and the planet.
Gladion nodded.
"I will investigate it with my Pokémon. Please stay here. If it turns out to be a threat, the battle would be dangerous."
The Aura Guardians nodded. At this point of time, Everyone knew of his two legendary Pokemon and if he could not handle something, the Aura Guardians would be dead anyways.
'Laser beam that could obliterate a human and a Pokémon and someone with such fast attack speed that a Crobat could not see the attack, there is no doubt about it, it's Deoxys.'
Gladion thought as he moved towards the mountains.
