Kalia hid in a corner, observing the sky above the Ocean View Building where the battle would unfold. Taking advantage of everyone's focus on the confrontation, she planned to infiltrate the building from behind unnoticed. Once the fighting erupted, no one would pay attention to her.
Her primary objective was rescue, and she had no intention of getting involved in the conflict between Ellie Region and the Dark Guild, preferring to remain inconspicuous.
Time passed swiftly. Lian leaned against a wall, peeking out with his head, watching the towering Ocean View Building in the distance.
The entrance area of the building was crowded with people, mostly spectators eagerly awaiting the arrival of mid-level trainers.
Suddenly, Lian's gaze froze as he spotted something purple flying out from a window of the tower, descending towards the ground.
Recognizing the familiar purple disc, Lian was taken aback. He finally realized which Pokemon the Dark Guild relied upon-it was none other than this particular species.
Genesect, a dual Bug-Type and Steel-Type Pokemon, boasted remarkably high base stats totaling 600. Originally a prehistoric Bug-Type Pokemon, it was later modified to have a cannon mounted on its back.
Genesect possesses formidable strength and impressive speed. As a dual Bug and Steel Type, its primary weakness is Fire-Type attacks; otherwise, it exhibits remarkable resistance to various types.
Lian was taken aback, realizing that the Dark Guild had control over not just one but dozens of Genesects—an alarming situation.
He recalled that on the back of Genesect's cannon-like structure, there was a slot for specialized energy cartridges, allowing it to unleash Techno Blasts with different elemental properties.
Glancing at the circular-shaped Genesect hovering in the sky, Lian noticed it seemed ready to attack those below.
As expected, upon sighting Genesect, the crowd immediately panicked and scrambled to flee, as they were mere bystanders, not seeking to risk their lives.
Genesect descended to the ground, transforming into humanoid form but refrained from launching any attacks. It appeared the intention was merely to disperse the crowd.
"Dealing with Genesect should be manageable."
Realizing the Dark Guild's reliance on Genesect, Lian felt relieved. Since Genesect is vulnerable to Fire-Type moves, and he specializes in Fire-Type strategies, this played to his advantage.
As long as he wasn't facing multiple Genesects simultaneously, Lian felt confident. Both Steel and Bug-type moves would inflict minimal damage on him.
Furthermore, aside from these two attributes, Genesect cannot fully unleash its maximum power with non-corresponding type moves, posing little threat to Lian.
Genesect's strongest signature move, Techno Blast, typically requires energy cartridges to reach its full potential. Without them, relying solely on the basic version of Techno Blast, it becomes largely ineffective against opponents of similar levels.
Lian pondered, wondering if Genesect could be considered a legendary Pokémon. If so, using it might trigger the multiplier bonus for his abilities.
With decent base Stamina, combined with a potential multiplier, Lian could potentially insta-kill with Flame Spiral. With some luck, achieving at least a double multiplier would make it highly advantageous.
Kalia had mentioned earlier that over forty Genesects collectively repelled seventeen high-level trainers. Regardless of how the battle unfolded, this clearly demonstrated that Genesect possesses legendary Pokémon caliber strength.
Lian estimated Genesect to be at least Level 60 or higher, as only such a level could effectively counter high-level trainers' Pokémon. It might even surpass this estimate.
If it reached Level 70, that would be phenomenal—assuming Genesect indeed qualifies as a legendary Pokémon.
From his previous knowledge, legendary Pokémon were categorized into "Legendary" and "Mythical." Apart from Pseudo-legendary species, any Pokémon with total base stats of 600 or more typically fell under the legendary category. Genesect seemed to belong to the Mythical class.
"Why not give it a try? I haven't used today's combat rating yet," Lian thought, filled with anticipation. He quickly calculated in his mind: if he defeats Genesect and receives a multiplier of at least two times, he could earn over four thousand Combat Points in one go.
With some luck for a higher multiplier, it could yield five or six thousand Combat Points, significantly more than his usual earnings of around three thousand.
Of course, if the final multiplier ends up being just slightly above one, Lian would have to accept it. However, even then, he wouldn't lose out; he'd still gain at least two to three thousand Combat Points. Lian doubted his luck would be that poor.
"Can't there be more opportunities for combat ratings?"
Lian felt that the Combat Point earnings were still too low. Even if he encountered legendary Pokémon daily, he would only receive one combat rating per day. Assuming each time had a triple multiplier, the maximum gain would be around seven thousand Combat Points.
To accumulate enough points to enhance his Fire-Type Mastery significantly, it would take at least half a month. With less luck, it could even stretch to over a month.
While Lian pondered, the crowd on the ground had moved far away, daring not to approach the tower closely, fearing Genesect might unexpectedly unleash an attack.
Genesect transformed back into its purple disc form and ascended towards the sky, ready to return to the tower.

Suddenly, a beam of intertwined multi-colored light shot from afar, directly targeting Genesect in mid-air. The attack was swift and unexpected, catching everyone off guard.

Genesect couldn't evade due to the suddenness; as it was returning, the ambush from behind left no chance for escape, even for other Pokémon.
The energy beam struck Genesect, causing an explosive impact. The force shattered nearby building windows with its residual energy, sending shards of glass crashing to the ground below.
Genesect was propelled against the tower's wall by the blast but sustained minimal damage due to its disc form.
In disc mode, combat capabilities were sacrificed for increased speed and enhanced defense. With a steel shell protecting its body, much like Forretress, it shielded itself effectively.
"We're here."
Lian observed as over three hundred mid-level Trainers finally arrived on the scene. Leading them were the three Elite Four members, including Flight Elite Rhea, whose Pokemon had just unleashed the powerful beam—an aerial Togekiss.
Despite being attacked, Genesect did not retaliate; instead, it swiftly darted through one of the tower's windows, entering the building.
"Let's move, head to the rooftop," Flight Elite Rhea commanded, gently brushing her long hair aside to reveal her exquisite features. As an Elite Four member known for her beauty, Rhea was often regarded as the dream goddess among many Trainers.
