The battle resumed, and this time Lian faced increased pressure as his opponents unleashed their moves.
The two Empoleons on the ground continuously cast Water-type Water Pulse, sending multiple blue energy beams towards Lian in the sky.
Although Water Pulse isn't particularly strong, with Empoleon's moderate Special Attack abilities, being high-level Pokemon, their Water Pulse still carried considerable force.
Meanwhile, the Unfezant soared higher before tucking its wings, transforming itself into a sharp dart aimed directly at Lian. This was undoubtedly a powerful flying-type move, Brave Bird.
If Lian were hit by Brave Bird, despite his robust defense, he couldn't avoid sustaining damage. The Unfezant's attack ability value was formidable, enhanced further by the 120 power of Brave Bird, making the potential harm significant.
The other two Pokemon continued running but had not yet reached a range to execute their moves effectively.
Lian needed to first evade the Unfezant's assault. As for the Water Pulses, if he could dodge them, he would; otherwise, he'd have to endure them. His primary focus was avoiding the impact of Brave Bird.
Having made his decision, Lian focused intently on the Unfezant soaring above him. Relying solely on attack moves to counter Brave Bird would be impractical, as his offensive capabilities were significantly weaker than this Unfezant's.
With an attack base stat of 115, Unfezant boasted exceptionally high offensive power among Pokemon. Moreover, being at an advanced level, Lian estimated it to be at least Level 60 or possibly even higher, potentially reaching Level 65.
On the ground, Kalia closely watched the aerial battle. Sceptile and Blaziken engaged continuously with their opponents, but their strength seemed insufficient for victory.
If they recklessly abandoned defense and forced an aggressive approach, one mistake could lead to Sceptile's defeat. Therefore, Kalia had no choice but to maintain a defensive strategy for her Pokemon.
Sceptile excelled in evasion, while Blaziken leveraged its Accelerate Ability, enhancing its speed. With Nidoking's current velocity, it couldn't touch either of these two Pokemon.
Meanwhile, Julian's situation stabilized temporarily with Ninetales joining the fray. However, defeating the opponent's Pangoro still appeared to be an arduous task.
"This isn't good at all," Kalia frowned, feeling concerned. Once the three mid-level trainers join the battle, her Charizard will be in serious danger, and she had no spare Pokemon to provide support.
At this moment, Kalia felt helpless.
Lian managed to evade the Brave Bird attack but still got hit by a Water Pulse. Although not particularly strong, the opposing trainers observed that as a Fire-type, taking a direct Water-type move would undoubtedly cause discomfort for Charizard.
"Great, just like that. No matter how powerful Charizard is, it can't withstand the onslaught from so many Pokemon." One of the Trainers grinned, knowing that once Charizard sustains damage, victory was within reach. No Pokemon has infinite stamina; even minor injuries accumulating over time can eventually render them unable to fight.
While this Charizard displayed exceptional evasive skills, it couldn't possibly dodge attacks from multiple Pokemon simultaneously. Inevitably, moves would land—once, twice, thrice, or more, leading inevitably to defeat sooner or later.
Now, two additional Pokemon entered the fray, targeting Lian with their moves. Under the guidance of their Trainers, these Pokemon took turns attacking relentlessly, leaving no opportunity for Lian to counter effectively.
Every time Lian attempted to counterattack, more moves were unleashed against him. He had to either dodge or defend before launching his own attack, thus losing valuable timing for optimal offense.
The prowess of these three high-level Trainers became evident; no matter how formidable Charizard was, it couldn't withstand coordinated assaults from five advanced Pokemon simultaneously.
For the first time, Lian felt truly powerless. Despite achieving a 70% Control Rating, he realized he was still too weak to be invincible.
In one-on-one battles, Lian would fearlessly face any Pokemon. However, engaging multiple opponents with all being at the advanced level proved overwhelming.
As Lian glanced down at Kalia on the ground, their eyes met, seemingly reflecting each other's sense of helplessness.
Unbeknownst to him, at that moment, his bond points with Kalia reached a perfect hundred percent.
Kalia carried a small pouch since participating in the Flora Expo didn't allow her to bring her full backpack. Inside this pouch were some Pokemon snacks.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to them, Kalia had been carrying a Mega Stone crafted by Professor Evergreen from a Meteorite Shard. Although the Professor didn't have high hopes for its success, he still gifted it to her.
This Mega Stone wasn't yet fully functional; currently, it was just an ordinary colored fragment of the Meteorite. However, Professor Evergreen had extracted elements that could react with Charizard and shaped them into a transparent glass bead form.
As Lian and Kalia locked eyes, the Mega Stone inside Kalia's backpack began to emit a faint glow. However, since Kalia wasn't wearing it and due to the daylight, the glow went largely unnoticed.
Kalia remained oblivious to this phenomenon, having no time to check her bag's contents. But there was someone who did notice.
During their battle, Julian was also concerned about Kalia's situation. He kept glancing at her combat progress intermittently, and coincidentally, he spotted the slightly glowing bag.
The glow was subtle, barely visible without close attention. Perhaps luck played a part, as Ninetales' Drought Ability ceased momentarily when a cloud obscured the sunlight, making the glow more noticeable.
"Kalia, what's glowing inside your bag?" Julian alerted her, feeling that the light seemed unusual despite being in the midst of battle.
"What?"
Kalia was taken aback by Julian's words, finding it puzzling. Her bag only contained ordinary items; could he be referring to her phone? However, that seemed impossible—during daylight, a phone's glow wouldn't be visible, let alone seen through the fabric of her pouch unless someone had X-ray vision.
Although skeptical, Kalia glanced at the black pouch tied around her waist and froze in surprise.
Even from his distance, Julian could see the glow, so naturally, standing much closer, Kalia perceived it even more distinctly as the light penetrated visibly through the pouch.
"What is this?"
Quickly unfastening the pouch, Kalia discovered the source of the glow: it was the glass sphere made from the Meteorite Shard given to her by Professor Evergreen, now radiating a brilliant shine.
