Chapter Two Hundred and Sixteen
The training hall doors slammed open hard enough for the sound to crack through the room.
Every movement stopped.
The recruits straightened almost instantly, heads turning toward the entrance. Even the air seemed to tighten.
Asli's gaze snapped up sharply.
Daniel stood at the doorway.
Black shirt rolled to his elbows, expression unreadable, shoulders squared like he owned every inch of space he stepped into. His eyes swept through the room assessing.
Then they landed on her. Cole had already gone still beside her, alert.
"What are you doing here?" Cole asked before anyone else could speak.
Daniel didn't answer immediately. Instead, he stepped further inside, boots echoing against the floor. One of the recruits moved out of his path without even realizing it.
That presence again.
The same thing that irritated Asli every time anyone walked into her territory, as if they owned it.
