"Sister-in-law, hello."
A bunch of men in green military uniforms, whose very voices naturally carried the distinctive grace of the army, greeted her holding bouquets of flowers. They were all tough soldiers, but they held soft, fresh blooms that didn't quite match their stern demeanor, and their repetitive greetings were incredibly heartening.
"Hello," Song Chenxi smiled as if she had just received the whole world and then, looking at Zhao Nan with raised eyebrows, asked, "How did you get here?" Song Chenxi was quite surprised. She had thought that his transfer to Imperial City wouldn't happen for several months at least. It had been just a few days; how had he suddenly arrived in Imperial City? His speed was astounding.
"I missed you," Zhao Nan's usually stoic face softened a bit as he handed her the flowers.
"Mm!" Song Chenxi laughed as she accepted the flowers and took a sniff. "Just missed me?" Song Chenxi didn't quite believe that was the only reason.
