Though Wanda's departure from the Marvel Universe hadn't been part of Shin's original plan, it inadvertently presented him with the perfect opportunity to enhance her powers.
Back in the Marvel Universe, Shin never dared to strengthen Wanda's abilities recklessly. It was well known that while Wanda channeled the power of Chaos, Chthon, the dark god of magic, remained ever vigilant.
If Shin had attempted to boost Wanda's strength there, Chthon might have seized the opportunity to break free, possibly even possessing Wanda's body. The risk was simply too great.
But now, in the DC Universe, that concern no longer applies. Although the two realities paralleled each other, Chthon's influence didn't extend into this world.
With Chthon unable to interfere, Shin finally had the freedom to enhance Wanda's powers without fear of outside manipulation.
Upon hearing Shin's offer to strengthen her, Wanda's expression brightened with excitement. In the Marvel Universe, bolstered by the near-limitless flow of Chaos magic, she had stood at the peak of power. There had been no sense of urgency to grow stronger, she already was one of the strongest.
But now, in the DC Universe, she was starkly aware of how diminished her abilities had become. Her once overwhelming powers to bend probability and reality felt sluggish and heavy without the Chaos magic backing her.
While her talent remained, her practical strength had plummeted. She was no longer capable of the miraculous feats that once shook worlds.
Powers she once took for granted, manipulating magic, levitating, and astral projection, had all but disappeared. Only fragments of her former strength lingered, some weak telekinesis, limited telepathy, and a watered-down version of her reality-altering magic that lasted mere moments.
Throughout their ongoing confrontation with the Justice League, Wanda had played no significant role. She was painfully aware of it. Even the Ancient One, whose power had similarly declined in this world, could still contribute by relying on his vast knowledge and skills to open portals and serve as a logistical support mage.
For Wanda, this moment ignited a new flame of ambition, a desire to reclaim her lost power and go beyond it.
After making the decision to enhance her, Shin began planning meticulously. Given Wanda's innate talent for rewriting reality, the most fitting upgrade would be the power of Yin Release. The ability to create form from nothing, pure imagination made manifest, aligned closely with her core magic.
He selected suitable abilities from the Uchiha and Kurama clans, both of which specialized in Yin Release. Then, to balance the volatile Yin chakra coursing through her, he added Hashirama cells, infusing her with Yang energy as a stabilizer.
But that wasn't all.
Shin also gave her a genuine Paramecia-type Devil Fruit: the Art-Art Fruit.
In the original timeline, the fruit's user had been a ridiculous and underwhelming figure, which led many to underestimate the fruit's potential. But in reality, the Art-Art Fruit possessed terrifying power, more than enough for Wanda to wield with devastating effect.
This fruit allowed the user to materialize their imagination as a transparent, cloud-like mist expelled from their hands or forehead. Once thrown, anything the mist touched would be transformed into a "work of art" based on the user's imagination.
The mist could be expanded to affect larger areas depending on the user's inspiration. And it didn't discriminate, humans, animals, weapons, even natural elements like lightning or fire could all be turned into artistic renderings upon contact.
Inanimate objects transformed into artwork lost all original function, guns became harmless sculptures, swords turned into delicate carvings. More terrifyingly, living beings would, over ten minutes, fully become art and cease to live.
The Art-Art Fruit, in its theoretical form, was an incredibly dangerous weapon. It could serve both offensively and defensively, especially when fused with Wanda's reality-altering abilities.
The main weakness of the fruit was the mist's delivery. It was slow and difficult to land a hit. In the hands of an ordinary user, it was underwhelming. But Wanda was no ordinary user.
Once fused with Wanda's powers, Shin knew the fruit's limitations would vanish. She could instantly teleport the mist to any target. She could manipulate its trajectory. She could enforce hits. In her hands, it would become a weapon of unstoppable precision.
Even opponents on Thor's level would be forced to tread carefully around her.
In the Justice League's training grounds, Wanda's transformation was underway.
Dark mist spiraled from Shin's palms as he restructured her body, splicing cells, merging Devil Fruit essence, and embedding Yin Release deeply into her chakra pathways.
Wanda blinked, her new powers settling into her being like a second skin. A strange mist now floated around her hands, pulsing with imagination.
She turned and pointed directly at her brother, Quicksilver.
The mist, though appearing to drift lazily, suddenly blinked out of sight.
A heartbeat later, it reappeared around Pietro. Before he could even react, his body stiffened, shrank, and softened.
He had become a stuffed animal.
"Wait, sister! What did you do to me?!" Pietro flailed his cotton arms, wide-eyed in disbelief. "Why are my legs... why is everything so soft?!"
Wanda covered her mouth, giggling. "You look so cute, Pietro."
The transformation reflected Wanda's imagination. While the previous user had been into surrealist art, Wanda had a softer, more whimsical touch, she liked plush animals and dolls. And now, anything she transformed took on that form.
While stuffed animals may not fit the conventional image of "art," Devil Fruits were subjective. As long as Wanda deemed the result artistic, the power worked flawlessly.
"Sister, please! Don't leave me like this! I don't want to be a stuffed toy forever!"
With teary eyes, Quicksilver tried to run, but his cotton-filled legs couldn't support his usual speed. He stumbled forward and fell flat.
Seeing her brother's exaggerated panic, Wanda took pity. With a wave of her hand, the effect reversed instantly, and Pietro stood back up, human again.
"That's terrifying, Wanda!" he exclaimed.
Before he could continue, Wanda's eyes suddenly glowed red. Three magatama spun within her irises, then evolved into a crystalline, snowflake-like pattern.
Quicksilver's jaw dropped. "No way! The Sharingan too?!"
A second later, reality shattered around him.
He was strapped to a wooden cross. The environment twisted and changed, pulling him into a surreal nightmare. He couldn't move and could barely breathe. No matter how he tried to make sense of it, it all felt too real.
Luckily, Wanda broke the illusion before it took hold too deeply. Otherwise, Pietro might have struggled to tell where reality ended and nightmare began.
Shin, watching silently from the sidelines, nodded with satisfaction.
Wanda's upgrade was more than successful.
She was no longer just a sorceress.
She was now a true powerhouse fused with ninja chakra, Devil Fruit power, and the limitless scope of imagination.
