The Glamorous Battle Begins
Mettaton: "Oh, don't be shy, darlings! Show me your moves! Let's see if you have what it takes to sparkle in the spotlight!"
Phase 1: The Spotlight Barrage
Spotlights mounted on the walls began sweeping across the stage, firing concentrated beams of light toward the group.
Kaeltherion darted forward, using his quick reflexes to maneuver between the beams.Velthara, with her sharp focus, timed her movements perfectly, stepping into blind spots between the lights.Zalthirion maintained his distance, calculating the pattern of the beams to guide the younger siblings through safely. The youngest, Syltheria, Xeltherion, and Elyssien, relied on their siblings' guidance but quickly adapted, moving with increasing confidence.
Mettaton: "Magnificent! You've got rhythm, my dears! But can you handle... THIS?"
Phase 2: The Heart-Cannon Spectacle
Mettaton's screen flickered, displaying a large heart surrounded by shimmering stars. He extended his arm, firing bursts of energy shaped like hearts across the arena.
Kaeltherion lunged to deflect one of the projectiles with his gauntlet, realizing they could be knocked aside.Lymtherion, with a quick kick, sent another projectile spiraling harmlessly into the air.Velthara, staying low, dodged under a flurry of blasts, moving with cat-like grace.
The youngest siblings began catching on, working together to deflect the projectiles rather than simply dodging.
Phase 3: The Ratings System
Suddenly, a large display appeared behind Mettaton, showing a ratings counter. The numbers flickered erratically.
Mettaton: "Oh, how delightful! The audience LOVES a good underdog story. Let's see how high we can take these ratings, shall we?"
The group noticed that their actions affected the ratings:
Deflecting attacks or dodging stylishly caused the ratings to climb.Hesitating or missing cues made the numbers drop.
The children worked together to maintain the audience's excitement, using their unique skills to create a spectacular show. Velthara encouraged Zalthirion to "play along," his usual stern demeanor softening slightly as he participated in more flamboyant dodges.
Phase 4: The Death Blasters
As the ratings soared, Mettaton's screen displayed a flashing skull[1].
Mettaton: "Ah, the crowd loves a bit of danger! Let's give them a finale they'll NEVER forget!"
Mettaton unleashed twin cannons from his shoulders, firing rapid energy blasts that ricocheted across the stage. The children split up to avoid the attacks, their movements growing increasingly coordinated.
Kaeltherion led the charge, drawing Mettaton's attention to allow the others a chance to recover.Syltheria surprised even herself by vaulting over a stray blast, narrowly avoiding harm.Velthara used her agility to dash toward the cannons, striking one with a quick blow to disrupt its aim momentarily. The Final Act
As the ratings counter neared its maximum, Mettaton paused, holding a hand to his "chest."
Mettaton: "Oh, darlings! The audience is absolutely ENCHANTED! But... the show must end, and what better way than with a spectacular finale?"
He struck a dramatic pose, preparing a final attack. The children readied themselves, determination etched on their faces.
Just as Mettaton launched a massive, glowing starburst toward the group, Kaeltherion led his siblings in a combined effort, deflecting the attack together with a coordinated push. The starburst shattered into harmless fragments, cascading like fireworks across the arena.
The ratings display flashed "MAXIMUM!" as the crowd erupted into cheers (though the children couldn't see the "audience").
Victory
Mettaton staggered back, his screen displaying a beaming smile.
Mettaton: "Bravo! BRAVO! You've truly dazzled me, my darlings. You've earned my respect... and your passage forward. I shall remember this performance FOREVER!"
With a dramatic bow, Mettaton deactivated, the circular stage shifting to reveal an elevator leading to the next area.
The children, catching their breath, exchanged glances. Despite the exhaustion, a sense of accomplishment hung in the air. They stepped into the elevator, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
The elevator ascended slowly, its quiet hum giving the children a brief moment to gather their thoughts. The fight with Mettaton had pushed them, not just physically but mentally, testing their ability to work together in ways they hadn't anticipated. As the elevator dinged softly, they stepped into a new hallway, their resolve stronger than ever.
Before them lay the path to New Home, the final stretch before confronting the unknown.
