Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: And everything's gonna be alright

Willy slowly scrolled through the expansive registry of holdings, the sheer volume of enterprises and luxury assets blurring before his eyes until a heavy exhaustion settled over his mind. As his gaze tracked down the endless lines of corporate text, his breath caught on a remarkably familiar name. Why on earth does this specific luxury resort trigger such a deep echo in my memory?

Willy looked up, blinking in surprise. "Tim... was this premier coastal resort the exact place where we stayed during our trip?"

Tim offered a smooth, effortless nod. "Yes, sweetheart. If you recall, I explicitly told you back then that I managed affairs there."

Willy's jaw slackened. "But you omitted the minor detail that you actually owned the entire establishment!"

Tim's lips curved into a warm, thoroughly amused smirk. "Well, now your memory holds the complete ledger. And you should know that every single enterprise you see cataloged on this screen belongs entirely to you now, too."

Willy froze, completely lost for words as a wave of sheer bewilderment swept through his chest. Are all these massive financial empires legitimately mine now? Willy shook his head quickly, pushing the device away. "No, Tim, my conscience completely refuses that arrangement. These are your independent triumphs. I have contributed absolutely zero effort to earn a single share of this fortune."

Tim stepped into his space, his dark eyes locking onto Willy's with an unyielding, fierce devotion. "You are my wedded husband, Willy. Under our sacred covenant, my worldly assets merge entirely with yours. I haven't forgotten a single syllable of the vows I delivered to you."

Reaching into his tailored coat pocket, Tim smoothly extracted a sleek, heavy card. It possessed a mesmerizing, deep ultramarine blue hue. Within their elite societal circles, banking credentials fell under rigid tiers of coloration: white - the standard instrument issued to the general public; bronze - reserved strictly for individuals holding a hundred thousand or more; silver - for the exclusive rank possessing a million or more; and black - the premier asset wielded by those controlling ten million or more. There existed an almost mythical tier, forged in pure gold, but its distribution was exceptionally rare; barely ten elite titans across the nation held it, given the requirement to maintain a balance of one hundred million or more. Willy's entire bloodline operated with black instruments, save for his father, who commanded a gold card.

Ultramarine blue? Willy stared at the striking object in absolute wonder, having never encountered such a card in his life. What on earth does this level of luxury represent?

Tim slipped the heavy card directly into Willy's palm. "This belongs to you, my love. There are only two active instruments of this exact configuration in this country: one is currently resting in your hand, and the other remains in my pocket."

Willy traced the flawless, cool surface of the card, captivated. "I have never seen this design before... The hue is absolutely breathtaking."

A burning curiosity flared within Willy's mind regarding the exact sum required to command such an unprecedented financial tool, but he refused to cross-examine his husband directly. I will figure out this secret independently, he resolved. Could it be half a billion? A billion?

Willy lowered his gaze, his voice dropping into a soft whisper. "Thank you, Tim... but a part of me feels profoundly self-conscious that you are shifting the universe just to provide for me."

Tim cupped Willy's face, his voice ringing with absolute certainty. "I will gladly tear down any barrier on this earth to protect and elevate the soul I love. Simply anchor your presence right by my side, and my heart will desire nothing else from this world."

Willy leaned into the warmth of his touch, his eyes shining. "I will remain with you for eternity, Tim."

Needing to prepare for the afternoon, Willy ran upstairs to wash away his lingering fatigue. He took a long, hot shower, dressed in comfortable clothes, and descended the grand staircase, completely focused on the academic hurdles ahead.

Tim met him at the base of the steps, adjusting his jacket. "Ethan and Seb are on their way so our circle can travel to campus together. I will be ready to depart in five minutes."

Willy blinked, a thread of confusion weaving through his thoughts. He pulled out his phone, wondering why they needed a joint ride today.

Willy: "Hey, guys. I just heard you're approaching our house. What prompted this joint transit?"

A response flashed across the screen almost instantly.

Seb: "This is Ethan using Seb's phone Seb is currently navigating traffic. We were worried about you after yesterday's sudden departure, so we decided to drop by. Tim mentioned you were preparing for university, so we decided to take over driving duties today."

Willy smiled softly, the warmth of his friends soothing his mind.

Willy: "Thank you so much, guys. We're ready and waiting for you."

Seb: "Great. We'll be in your driveway in about ten to fifteen minutes."

Even as he locked his device, Willy's analytical mind kept circling the details. He couldn't quite fathom why they had traveled all this way, nor why they had initially routed their logistics through Tim's private line instead of addressing him directly.

Willy turned toward the mirror. "They'll be here in ten to fifteen minutes, Tim."

Tim nodded, grabbing his keys. "Perfect. I am entirely ready."

Before their friends pulled into the drive, Willy tried to execute a quick search on his phone, desperate to unearth the financial secrets of the mysterious ultramarine card. He scanned every elite economic forum and banking index, but the digital space held zero documentation regarding that specific color tier. It's completely unlisted, Willy realized in frustration. Who on earth holds the authorization to know about this?

Right on schedule, Seb's car pulled up to the front entrance, and the two of them stepped inside, settling into the comfortable back seats.

Ethan turned around from the passenger side, offering a bright smile. "Tim, our group is converging for a heavy study session right after the final bell. Are you planning to join us today?"

Tim wrapped his arm securely around Willy's shoulders, a lazy, thoroughly amused grin spreading across his face. "No, Ethan. My beautiful baby is in an exceptionally fragile mood today, so I intend to stay right beside him for the rest of the day."

Willy's face erupted into a violent blush, his eyes widening in horror. "TIM... shut your mouth!"

Tim simply chuckled, pulling Willy closer against his chest despite the ample space available in the back seat. "See? I explicitly told you he was in a hostile state of mind. If I don't stay by his side, his whole mood will sour."

Seb tracked their playful bickering through the rearview mirror, a soft laugh escaping his lips. "From my perspective, Tim, you are the singular variable causing his temper to flare."

Tim leaned down, his voice dropping into a velvety, playful whisper that reached everyone in the vehicle. "No, Seb. He is simply wrestling with an immense wave of shyness. Deep down, his heart thoroughly adores it when I pamper him and address him as my baby. Isn't that right, baby?"

Willy glared at his husband with a look so sharp it suggested he was actively calculating how to hurl Tim through the moving car window.

Sensing the mounting danger, Tim smoothly redirected the conversation. "Instead of dissecting our affairs, why don't you boys shed some light on how your own hidden romance is progressing?"

The sudden question caused an instant, heavy silence to fall over the front seats. Ethan's cheeks turned a brilliant shade of pink, while Seb's eyes widened as he kept his focus locked onto the road.

Ethan cleared his throat, a small, sheepish smile forming on his lips. "Everything is operating flawlessly between us, Tim."

Willy's jaw dropped, his gaze darting rapidly between the two in front. "What on earth do you mean?! Are you guys... together?!"

The entire vehicle erupted into shared laughter at the sight of Willy's utterly shocked, dumbfounded expression.

Seb laughed softly, making a sharp turn onto the campus boulevard. "Yes, Willy, we are officially together. In fact, our romantic timeline started long before yours did."

Willy blinked, completely floored by the revelation. "Are you serious?! How was I completely blind to this?!"

Tim let out a rich, playful chuckle, gently squeezing Willy's shoulder. "It is a miracle that I stepped forward to decode your own feelings for me, Willy. Otherwise, your analytical mind would have taken centuries to figure out the equation. Seeing you now, I'm not surprised your personal life was completely vacant before I arrived. How could you miss that those two were hopelessly in love? I saw their alignment from day one."

Willy sank back into the leather cushions, unable to mount a defense. He knew Tim's critique was entirely accurate; when it came to reading the subtle emotional shifts of the people around him, his perception was completely blind.

The vehicle finally came to a halt in the central university courtyard. Ethan gathered his materials, waving farewell as he departed to join his classmates in the advanced study halls.

Seb locked the car, turning to Tim with a raised eyebrow as they approached the grand lecture hall. "Are you truly planning to enter the classroom with us today, Tim? I highly doubt the professor will tolerate an unregistered student occupying his space."

Tim offered a careless, thoroughly confident shrug. "Banish your worries, Seb. I hold an open license to enter any room I desire within these walls."

True to his word, the notoriously strict professor uttered zero words of protest when Tim strolled through the entrance. Without a single hurdle, Tim claimed a seat directly beside Willy, resting his arm on the wooden desk.

During a brief writing interlude, Seb leaned over, whispering frantically. "How on earth did you pull that off without a clash, Tim?"

Tim kept his focus on the chalkboard, his smirk entirely unbothered. "I possess exceptional institutional privileges here, Seb. I assist this university's development across multiple financial avenues, so the administration happily allows me to configure my schedule however I see fit."

Al, who was sitting in the row ahead of them, spun around with wide eyes. "Wait... are you implying you deliver massive bribes to the board?"

Tim laughed softly under his breath. "No, Al. The university actually benefits significantly from my presence on this campus. Let's hold this discussion until the lecture ends."

His answers only fueled a mountain of fresh questions within their circle. The boys spent the remainder of the session watching the clock, dying of curiosity.

The moment the final bell echoed through the halls, they migrated toward the crowded campus cafeteria, securing an isolated table in the back.

Al dropped his heavy bag onto a chair, leaning forward. "Is that financial leverage the exact reason you routinely skip your classes, Tim?"

Tim shook his head, opening a bottle of water. "No. Attendance metrics carry zero weight toward my standing, so I simply don't bother sitting through standard lectures. Plus, my corporate responsibilities demand a massive amount of my time daily."

Seb narrowed his eyes, trying to piece the puzzle together. "Where exactly do you execute your daily employment, then?"

Tim answered smoothly, his expression completely calm. "I am currently focusing my efforts within a local downtown lounge. I rarely anchor my presence in one specific venue for long. The moment a project bores my mind, I simply move on to another."

Willy looked down at his lap, a hidden smile touching his lips. He finally understood Tim's mystery: he owned an astronomical empire of independent companies simply because every time he grew weary of a specific industry, he routinely purchased a fresh one to entertain his intellect.

They were deep in conversation when Logan suddenly approached their table, his face grim as he held out his glowing phone screen.

Logan dropped onto the bench, his voice tense. "Hey, guys... have you seen this viral post yet?"

Willy and the others leaned in, their eyes locking onto a freshly uploaded post on the prominent university social forum. Displayed across the screen were multiple crisp, high-definition photographs of Tim and Willy walking close together through the courtyard, followed by a snapshot of Tim occupying the seat next to him in the lecture hall. The caption accompanying the images read:

"It appears our university has quietly secured an exceptionally handsome new student. He rarely graces the campus grounds, but his physical presence never fails to bring immense joy to our eyes. However, I am thoroughly devastated to shatter your hopes with the news that his heart is officially off the market. He and William are permanently locked together. They routinely arrive at the campus gates in perfect alignment, and today, they even entered the same lecture hall, despite belonging to entirely different academic faculties."

The post had been active for less than ten minutes, yet the comment section below it was already exploding with chaotic traffic from the student body:

"This is absolutely impossible, my entire heart is broken into pieces."

"William, you already command a massive army of admirers on this campus, step aside and find another option. Tim belongs to me!"

"I was genuinely celebrating the arrival of another handsome face at this university, but now our visual assets have dropped by two because they are locked in a union."

"You are omitting Sebastian from your calculations... our assets have dropped by three."

"No, seriously, what historical shift is transpiring this semester? First Sebastian vanishes from the market, now William follows suit... only Alexander remains unchained. Our magnificent Shooting Stars are dissolving."

Tim's eyes turned icy cold as he scanned the text. He didn't demonstrate a single trace of panic. Pulling his phone from his pocket, he dialed a secure line with absolute precision.

Tim's voice was like clipped ice. "Alice. I am transferring a specific digital target to your device this exact second. This matter holds the highest priority on my ledger, so deploy your resources to eliminate it immediately."

Alice's confident voice echoed through the speaker. "Consider it done, boss. My team will resolve the issue effortlessly."

Tim nodded. "My thanks, Alice."

He cut the connection, instantly punching in a secondary code. The line connected after a single ring.

Tim's voice dropped into a low, quiet, yet commanding register that sent a subtle chill through the table. "Good afternoon. I have just routed a specific file to your terminal, and I presume your intellect understands exactly what measures to execute. I hold a strong expectation that my inner circle and my husband will never be subjected to this brand of public discomfort ever again within your institution."

An older, thoroughly terrified voice stammered on the other end. "My profoundest apologies, sir... I give you my absolute vow that a security breach of this nature will never happen again."

Tim ended the call, sliding the phone back into his coat pocket. The rest of the table sat in stunned, absolute silence, completely unaware of what forces Tim had just set in motion.

Logan blinked, staring down at his device as the screen refreshed. "Look... the entire forum post has been permanently deleted from the grid. The whole thread is gone. Tim... what on earth did you just do?"

Tim picked up his coffee, his expression reverting to a calm, smooth mask. "My team handles such variables, Logan. Dismiss the event from your mind entirely; those digital forums will never bother your peace again."

Al leaned over the table, his eyes wide with a mix of awe and bewilderment. "Did you... physically deliver a massive payout to have the administration wipe the thread?"

Tim let out a sharp, mocking laugh. "No, Al. Why on earth would I waste my hard-earned capital on such trivial nonsense?! My people hold specific levers that handle these institutional matters naturally."

Seb leaned back, his gaze intensely analytical as he tracked Tim's posture. "Your people? The vocabulary you utilize makes it sound as though you hold a senior rank within a global organization, Tim."

Tim let out a rich, mysterious laugh that sent a wave of intrigue through the group.

Tim smirked, locking his eyes onto Seb. "Perhaps I hold that rank, and perhaps I operate in an entirely foreign territory. But you speak a partial truth if your ultimate goal is to permanently scrub a citizen's public digital footprint within seconds, commanding high-level authority is practically the only logical path. Perhaps that specific background explains why my accuracy with a firearm remains absolutely flawless."

Willy nudged his arm firmly, his voice laced with warning. "Tim, stop the dark jokes immediately."

Willy's friends fell entirely silent, their minds churning. A quiet unease had already taken root within their thoughts regarding Tim's mysterious lifestyle, and following this terrifying display of swift, absolute authority, their curiosity reached an all-time high.

Tim stood up, extending his hand down to his husband. "Let's head out, Willy. My mind is suffering from a wave of fatigue."

Willy hesitated, but ultimately placed his palm into Tim's strong grip, allowing himself to be pulled upright. "What are you doing, Tim? Every single eye in this cafeteria is focused on us."

Tim didn't yield an inch, intertwining their fingers tightly in plain view of the entire student body. "The entire campus already knows our destinies are bound, Willy, so there is zero requirement to conceal our affection. Trust my lead; everything's gonna be alright."

Willy's heart swelled, his defenses crumbling against Tim's absolute confidence. "Alright... how are we getting back home?"

Logan stood up, grabbing his leather jacket. "I will drive you guys back in my car. I still need a serious discussion with both of you."

They offered a quiet farewell to Al and Seb, trailing behind Logan as he navigated the exit path toward the student parking lot. Once they were securely inside the quiet interior of Logan's car, the vehicle pulled into the afternoon traffic.

Tim looked forward through the console, his eyes serious. "The floor is yours, Logan. What critical variable has surfaced?"

Logan kept his hands steady on the steering wheel, his tone dropping into a grave, deeply protective register. "Please don't take my words as an aggressive interference into your private life, Tim... but from my perspective, you need to initiate a formal, direct discussion with Willy's parents immediately."

Tim leaned back against the headrest, his expression turning thoughtful. "I held every intention of coordinating that meeting, Logan. However, Willy explicitly instructed my office to delay the encounter until our examination block was completely cleared from the calendar."

Willy nodded in agreement, looking at his friend. "Logan is right, that was the arrangement. We planned to meet them for lunch after the final exams. Has a fresh complication emerged? Did Miles send a specific warning to your phone?"

Logan sighed heavily, a shadow of deep anxiety crossing his features. He looked trapped, lost as to how to phrase the incoming storm without fracturing the group's peace.

Logan whispered, his eyes locked on the road. "I think... I think their corporate empire will stand in absolute, hostile opposition to your union. The quicker you confront their authority and lay out the facts, the better your chances of survival will be."

Tim's features softened slightly, recognizing the pure, unselfish loyalty driving the warning. "Thank you, Logan, for investing your energy into guarding our peace. I will absolutely coordinate a direct encounter with them. I am well aware that their actions originate from a place of intense worry regarding Willy's future, so I will lay out my entire existence to clear their doubts."

Willy leaned forward, anxiety gripping his chest. "Logan, did Miles broadcast a specific threat to you today? He was radiating an immense amount of anger toward Tim yesterday afternoon. I transmitted a lengthy message explaining the entire situation to his phone, but I possess absolutely zero data regarding what his thoughts are configuring right now."

Logan gripped the wheel tighter. "He remains intensely consumed by worry for your safety, Willy. I don't believe your family or our friends will ever lower their guard until they thoroughly comprehend the depth of Tim's character. That is the exact reason I am urging you both to bridge the gap immediately and explain the truth to their faces."

Willy looked over at Tim, whose strong hand instantly came down to anchor his trembling fingers. The physical connection brought an immediate wave of peace to Willy's veins. He still harbored an immense amount of anger toward his parents for their manipulative corporate contracts, but beneath that fury, his intellect fully comprehended the primal worry that fueled their hostility.

Willy took a deep, steadying breath, his voice turning absolute. "Alright. We shall officially confront them this coming Saturday, the exact second our final exams are cleared from the ledger."

Tim squeezed his hand firmly, a silent vow passing between them in the quiet car. We will execute this discussion together, Willy thought, his resolve hardening as the city lights flashed past the glass, and after the truth is laid bare, everything will finally settle into a perfect, unbroken peace.
