Maya wanted to stay up late, deep in thought to create the perfect escape plan, but she wasn't really a social butterfly, and hanging out with her big Italian family after dinner had drained all her energy, making her feel so damn tired. She just allowed the maids to bathe her in the bathtub again. She was so consumed by fatigue that she didn't care that she was acting like a lazy, spoiled, rich princess. Afterwards, she jumped straight into bed, and the blanket of sleep wrapped over her.
When she woke to a brand new day, her reality hit her hard like a brick, and the little happiness she had felt the night before dissipated, leaving her feeling dread and distressed again. She missed Dalton so much that she could cry.
