Maya didn't know how long she sat on the floor of Vico's study, weeping over her mother. Finally, the last tear dropped, and she wiped away the traces of devastation from her eyes and cheeks.
She left the study and chose not to return to her room because she decided to seek solace in the spa room they had in the mansion. It was 1 AM, and it was always vacant, so there would be no one to disturb her except for her bodyguard, who was always trailing behind her. She halted before stepping into the threshold.
"There are cameras and detectors in the spa room, so there's no need to follow me in. Stay here and keep watch," she ordered the bodyguard, and she complied.
