Chapter 323 - Chapter 323

Equan grinned, watching with awe as he had given Hans and Chase a true win condition...

His energy had been drained to the absolute maximum, leaving him with that last spark of hope that had made its way onto the battlefield.

His body collapsed in that second, but he was caught by Luke, who aimed his own crossbow at what only the two archers could have seen from that distance.

A small crack in the Mother Vasehead's shell, so small that it would take the most accurate of all shots to hit.

"Gotcha..." Luke whispered, grinning as his finger snapped the trigger as he said it.

Equan watched in awe as the crimson bolt soared through the colossal room, narrowly dancing through falling debris, Hans's frozen positioning, as well as several pillars, until meeting its mark, and cracking the entire right side of the monster's shell.

He grinned, then looked at the other two wounded members of unity who were leaning against the wall with a grimace.

"Good job you three... We can leave the rest to the powerhouses..."

Michael shook his head, leaning back further against the pillar, and then letting his fist crash beside him, causing a crack to dance through the entire pillar.

"I'm not done yet..." He said after several shaky breaths.

However, Leo who looked by far the worst out of the lot of them, gripped Michael's shoulder violently, pushing him down into a sitting position.

"You're done." He demanded, with blood dripping onto the floor from his heavily huffing mouth.

He turned to the bard, who was in a kneeling position violently strumming at his lute, with a clearly exhausted expression on his face.

Leo kneeled in front of Griffin, putting his bloody hand on the bard's shoulder.

As he reached into his pocket he spoke.

"Griff... You got this... It is impossible for us to lose as long as you keep playing..."

Griffin refused to look up at Leo, as he was a single mistake away from strumming the wrong cord and ruining the energy creation spell.

Leo lifted a green glowing gem covered in ruins, humming as the song played through the air like an enchanting rave.

Then...

He crushed the gem in his hand, making sure to keep his hand on Griffin's strained shoulder that held the lute.

Ruins began to slither down Leo's arm originating from his own mana core, and transferring to Griffin's.

With a pant, the bard asked...

"W- Why?"

However, Leo almost growled at him to stop speaking and remain concentrated.

...

Chase on the other hand, had begun to surge to life with newfound energy, feeling like he had been possessed by his own near fatal state.

Even his own eyes had begun to spill blood; however, he was blinded anyway, because he had been given a single a chance to kill this bastard.

He shot forward, clearing half of the room in a single second, reeling back the large spear radiating golden electricity, and grinned as he hurled it mid-air causing the monster to instantly dodge.

However, he hadn't been aiming for the monster...

Hans leaped into the air, grabbing the golden spear out of the air, turning and launching it with terrible force towards the giant crack in the monsters shell.

At the very same time, the smaller Vasehead had freed itself from Michael's ice pillar and shot down like a comet towards Hans.

Bracing himself Hans grit his teeth.

CRASH!

Reinhart even though his body had been put into an absolutely terrible state had been launched upwards by a vortex of wind and water, met the smaller Vasehead in its tracks.

Grabbing it out of the air hurling both himself and the monster towards the ground with anger laced in every single jolt of each and every one of his muscle fibers.

"KEEP FIGHTING!" He yelled as his voice slowly faded away from the main battle, clearly intending to take the smaller one on alone.

Meanwhile, Chase had landed against one of the last standing pillars, surging energy into his legs once again, and shooting forward, smashing the pillar with force as he turned himself into a missile of his own.

Bracing himself and lifting his arms, he crashed directly into the already shattering shell of the larger Vasehead, as his arms cracked and groaned in pain from the impact.

The beast recoiled backwards from the force, but it had been too late, as Chase had missed his original mark.

As the shell cracked, the terribly deformed grin of the monster revealed itself from beneath its helmet.

Chase trembled in fear, landing below the monster with limp arms.

Then its last remaining rocky arm rose above Chase, and shot towards him vertically as soon as he realized what was happening.

CLANG!

CRACK!

The beast's fist crashed into a crimson barrier; however, it had already began to crack from a single attack.

However, that had been just enough time for the main attack to land.

Hans slide underneath of the monster, launching himself up at the climax of his slide, and reared his fist back like a slingshot, and launched a terrifying attack from behind the monster.

Chase grinned up at it, as its three eyes widened in surprise.

Its head then splashed into piles of flesh and blood, but it had already begun to regenerate from the attack in those split seconds.

Hans braced himself, as it turned. Its rocky fist crashing into him with terrible force and crushing him into the ground.

Chase; however, had not lost his grin, as the glowing runic embers had already drilled far enough into its skull and the conditions had officially been met.

The beast just now had realized that much, and tilted its mangled head at Chase in confusion.

Chase lifted his own demolished arm, forming a snapping motion with his own fingers.

"Die..."

Snap...

The ruins burned to life on its brain, causing light to emanate from every single pore of the monster's head.

In a frenzy of flames... The monster's head exploded from the inside out... Leaving Chase standing upright at the center of the battlefield as its limp headless body made of rocks and stone crashed into the ground with a lifeless thud.
