Chapter 29 - The Eighth Ninjutsu

Uchiha Jin's action took the three by surprise.

They watched him fall.

The rolling swarm of insects on the ground buried him.

It was simply suicide.

"This is fine too. I'll knock him out and take him away."

The black-haired man spoke coldly.

The sea of insects below was under his control, so he could naturally control the intensity, ensuring he only fainted.

Although he didn't understand why this Uchiha chose this path.

The outcome was already decided.

There would be no mistakes this time.

"Don't let him pass out so easily. Make him suffer a bit."

The female ninja gritted her teeth. This was the first time anyone had called her an ugly monster. How could she let him off easily?

"Root ninjas need to eradicate emotions."

The orange-haired man's voice was cold as he vetoed it.

Inside Root, not only positive emotions needed to be erased, but negative emotions as well.

In Danzō Shimura's view, a ninja without any emotions was a good ninja and the most useful tool.

He would use various methods to erase these ninjas' emotions, but there were always some who couldn't be changed so easily.

Hearing the orange-haired man's words, the female ninja could only obey.

"Understood."

She wasn't the captain. Root operations required strict adherence to orders from superiors.

Otherwise...

Thinking of Root's punishments, she shuddered.

Although she knew Root's punishments were severe...

She was unconvinced in her heart.

She didn't enter Root just to be a doll. She did it to vent her killing desire.

After becoming a Root member, she regretted it.

Unfortunately, once inside, there was no getting out.

"Ming, bring him up," the orange-haired man called out.

But no one answered him.

He and the woman looked at the Aburame clan man called Ming at the same time.

They saw Ming's hands clasped together, his body trembling slightly. If his mask were removed, they would see him covered in cold sweat.

Something was wrong.

It was a long time before the two heard him speak.

"My bugs... are dying!"

He could feel the kikaichū he controlled dying en masse, and he couldn't even resist.

"What!?"

The two looked down simultaneously.

They saw red energy currents flowing within the sea of insects below.

At first, it wasn't conspicuous. It was just a dim ray of light.

As time passed.

The red light became more and more intense and conspicuous.

At the same time, large swathes of insects began to shrivel and fall.

It was as if their flesh and blood had been sucked away.

Soon, a mountain of insect corpses appeared on the ground.

At this moment.

A hand reached out from the top of the corpse mountain, emitting red chakra. It slowly clenched into a fist.

Then, surging red chakra erupted.

BOOM!

A fierce gale was kicked up, blowing the three's clothes with a flapping sound.

Its power was evident.

Large swathes of shriveled insect corpses below were repelled and sent flying by the gale.

Revealing the figure inside.

Jin stood in the sea of insects. His clothes had been eaten away by the bugs, leaving not a scrap behind.

Red chakra surrounded his body like a solid substance, and his pupils had disappeared.

"Eight Gates Released Formation! Modified! Six Storehouses Immortal Thief!" (Hachimon Tonkō! Kai! Liù Kù Xiān Zéi!)

Jin looked up at the three.

His eyes, devoid of pupils, were just a sheet of white.

Like an evil ghost crawling out of hell.

"What jutsu is this?!"

Ming's voice was a bit dry. This level of chakra was simply too astonishing.

It was almost like a Jinchūriki.

Although they didn't know who the village's Jinchūriki was, it definitely wasn't this person in front of them.

The next moment.

"What are you looking at?"

Jin's voice slowly came from behind the three.

Their pupils contracted as they looked back quickly. Their figures retreated explosively to another tree, looking at where they had just stood.

They saw Jin actually stepping on the air with both feet, standing in the void.

Rokushiki - Geppo (Moonwalk).

The three felt a weird sense of visual disconnection. Even though they had been staring at Jin below, they still couldn't see how he moved behind them.

It was like there were two people.

This speed...!

"You!"

The woman wanted to say something.

The next moment.

Her figure vanished from the spot. In the distance, Jin pressed one hand against the woman's face, slamming her entire body into a tree.

It was like a segment of video with the middle cut out.

A strong sense of fragmentation.

BOOM!!

The sound only arrived now. The tree trunk was smashed into a huge crater by the immense force. Unable to support itself, the tree slowly fell towards the ground.

As the woman's mask shattered, revealing an exquisite face, her eyes rolled back and she fainted.

This blow wasn't so easy to withstand.

"Retreat!!" The orange-haired man quickly issued the order.

He wanted to abandon the woman and retreat immediately. The strength the opponent displayed was completely unmatched unless an Elite Jonin was dispatched.

But the next moment...

The two stopped moving, not daring to move a muscle. Cold sweat streamed down their faces under their masks.

Jin appeared between the two, hooking an arm around each of their shoulders.

Like close friends.

"Where do you want to go? Let me see you off."

Hearing Jin's voice, Ming couldn't hide the terror in his eyes.

This hellish speed... what taijutsu could reach this level?

And he was still just a Genin.

The Uchiha Clan...

What kind of monster did they produce?!

Soon he couldn't think anymore, because Jin pushed hard on the back of their heads. Their faces collided, masks shattering instantly. Face met face, making a dull thud.

Both their noses were crooked, and their eyes rolled back as they fainted.

Jin casually threw the two towards the female ninja. The three collided, rolling and piling up together.

Their faint breathing proved they were still alive.

Although he really wanted to kill them, killing them would cause huge trouble.

One had to know that theoretically, Danzō Shimura and Hiruzen Sarutobi wore the same pair of pants.

When the time came, it wouldn't be something a mere Genin like him could influence.

Letting them live, on the other hand, left room for maneuvering.

He would note this grudge for now.

His body landed lightly on the ground.

Jin ignored the three and looked in another direction.

Under the dusk light, a shadow appeared from the distance, followed by its owner, Orochimaru, walking slowly.

"Orochimaru." Jin looked at this man expressionlessly.

"Was the show... good?"

Orochimaru nodded. "Not bad. Although I didn't see you awaken the Sharingan, this miraculous jutsu... I've certainly widened my horizons."

The moment Jin was attacked, he had discovered it and arrived at the battle site immediately.

But he chose not to come out, instead hiding on the side to watch.

Jin also relied on his current state to discover the hidden Orochimaru.

As the group moved, Orochimaru followed closely behind.

The purpose of doing this wasn't to test Jin's strength.

It was just to let Jin awaken the Sharingan in a moment of crisis.

After all, for the Uchiha clan to increase their strength, the Sharingan was essential.

Life-and-death crisis was also an extreme emotion that could awaken the Sharingan. Although he hadn't researched it yet, the Second Hokage's research manuscripts were in his hands.

Naturally, he was clear on this.

Unfortunately, Jin didn't awaken the Sharingan as he wished. But instead, he saw this amazing ninjutsu.

It wasn't too much of a loss.

A smile full of malice appeared on Jin's face.

"Orochimaru, aren't you afraid I'll..."

"Beat you to death right now?"

His current strength was shockingly strong. He didn't know if he could beat those called Kage, but he was confident against a mere Elite Jonin.

And clearly, he had promised to protect him, but ended up being a spectator.

Who was right or wrong didn't matter to Jin.

He had no manners anyway.

Orochimaru showed no worry at Jin's words. Instead, the smile on his face remained unchanged.

"With that chakra you absorbed, you can last at most one more minute. What will you use to beat me to death?"

He stuck out his snake-like tongue and licked his lips.

Uchiha Jin's current strength was only temporary, and the duration wasn't long.

He had analyzed most of it with a single glance.

"Jin-kun."

"Spotted." Jin pursed his lips, and the chakra on his body dissipated.

The red chakra disappeared, and his body became unstable, causing him to sit on the ground.

Six Storehouses Immortal Thief was now the eighth jutsu in his hand.

Originally, it was created to increase recovery and enhance chakra synthesis speed.

The principles of this jutsu were extremely complex, possibly even comparable to an S-Rank ninjutsu. If not for the instant mastery, he would have needed a long time to cultivate it.

This jutsu was formed by cycling through the body's six organs and the eight chakra meridians.

Under normal circumstances, it could absorb the enemy's chakra or use his own chakra to achieve body repair capabilities, as well as increase the speed of his own chakra generation by eating food.

At the same time, because it ran through the Eight Gates' meridians, it could open the Eight Gates to a limited extent without much damage to the body.

The only cost was ten times the chakra of normally opening the Eight Gates.

The insects summoned by that Aburame ninja carried chakra. Although a single insect had a limited amount, such a massive number exceeded the chakra a normal ninja could possess.

This allowed him to meet the conditions for opening the Eight Gates.

However, for this jutsu, all eight gates had to be opened simultaneously at once. If even one gate wasn't opened, the cycle couldn't be achieved, and it would naturally fail.

These Eight Gates were a huge consumer of chakra. Opening them once could drain an Elite Jonin's entire chakra reserves.

Although the power was astonishing, unfortunately, it was fixed at a level equivalent to the 6th Gate of the normal Eight Gates.

Of course, the cost wouldn't be death, so the cost-performance ratio was still very high.

There was no possibility of increasing its power in the future because this was just a trick.

In the future, without an opportunity like this to absorb such massive chakra at once, he wouldn't be able to open it either.

This thing was a disposable item.

"However, even if Jin-kun could maintain this state for a long time, you might not be my opponent."

Orochimaru's words made Jin narrow his eyes.

He sized up Orochimaru. In his state just now, he couldn't be defeated by an Elite Jonin.

Unless he had already surpassed Elite Jonin.

That was interesting.

Orochimaru might have already reached his future peak at this time.

Peak Orochimaru could go toe-to-toe with the current Hiruzen Sarutobi.

He just didn't know what impact this would have on the future.
