Kasumi nodded slowly against my chest. "Yes… I remember."
"That day… I fell in love with Sister Yuko," I confessed softly, still gently caressing her cheek and hair.
"Even though she's strong and stubborn on the outside, I saw how gentle, kind, and loving she really is deep down. The way she tried to hide her pain, the way she smiled faintly when she thought no one was looking… I couldn't help it."
I paused, kissing the top of Kasumi's head tenderly before continuing. "I don't know everything that happened to her in the past… but I know I love her. And I will do anything to love and protect her."
Kasumi's eyes filled with fresh tears. They slowly dripped down her cheeks as she looked up at me.
I wiped them away gently with my thumb. "Haruna also noticed how her sister was changing. Even though Yuko kept making excuses to distance herself from me and push me away… Haruna saw the truth."
