The term "Blessed Children" became popular thousands of years ago in the Six-Faced World. But their origins are much older — as old as creation itself.
From the moment the Creator God shaped the six worlds, there were already beings who transcended natural laws.
Beings born with gifts, curses, or powers impossible to comprehend.
Today we call them Blessed Children or Cursed Children. But in those days, they had no name.
Among the most notable examples are mentions of a Dragon-Race woman who could pass through solid surfaces as if they were water.
There was also a man of the Celestial Race who had a notorious reputation for thousands of years; his Curse was that anyone who dared touch him would die instantly.
And finally, a wolf of the Beast Race whose origin did not come from a womb but from nature's own will.
It is said that, shortly after the Creation of the Beast World, a white-furred wolf was born spontaneously, without father or mother.
He was exalted as the Sacred Beast of the Beast World, and served as the mount for the First Beast God himself — one of the True Gods.
But that is a story for another time.
---
Throughout all known history, Blessed and Cursed Children have always been extremely rare.
So rare that there has never been a confirmed record of more than ten of them existing at the same time.
Many eras passed, and countless theories arose attempting to explain their origin.
How did these beings appear?
What was the principle behind their powers?
What were their limits?
Were they divine blessings, or divine flaws?
In the early days, the Six Races believed such gifts were fragments of a higher divinity, shattered and scattered across the worlds.
Ten millennia later, theorists began to link the Blessed Children to Labyrinths and Dungeons, which also appeared randomly whenever a large concentration of mana formed at some point in the world.
There were also magical items with equally random powers. And yet, no one managed to prove any theory with certainty.
At present, Cliff Grimoire was close to solving the mystery, and the Kingdom of Gaia was also making some progress.
---
Now, there was a very interesting question considered in the past.
Were the children of the Blessed Children also special?
There was, for example, a human kingdom called Lowltar, more than fifteen hundred years ago.
There was born a Miko woman capable of freely manipulating large bodies of water. She could move lakes, rivers, and even the surface of the sea. But her gift was her ruin.
The Kingdom of Lowltar saw in her an opportunity — and turned her into a reproductive tool.
During her life, she was forced to give birth to more than thirty children, in a desperate attempt to perpetuate her power.
When he grew up, her third son, unable to bear seeing his mother in that miserable existence, took her life in an act of mercy.
The kingdom executed him publicly, but, ironically, they also ended the experiments.
The conclusion, although satisfying, was not the expected result.
Of the thirty children of the Miko woman, twenty-six were born with some kind of exceptional talent: natural warriors, prodigy mages, talented singers, artists, brilliant strategists…
And only four of them were born ordinary, without notable gifts.
The conclusion for the Kingdom was somewhat frustrating: the children did not inherit their parents' divine power.
But at least, something in their blood made them special.
The Human Kingdom's knowledge was gradually lost after its destruction.
---
Five hundred years ago, a new Miko was born; her name was Verdia Solarion.
Without her knowledge, she had been named Soothsayer Miko; she was a Blessed Child with golden hair that shone with a mystical light.
And her gift was seeing the future. But the gift came at a price.
Anyone who knew of the existence of her power was condemned to unspeakable bad luck, an inevitable curse that led to ruin and disgrace.
It was only with the help of the Beast God that she managed to confront the origin of the curse.
The magical glow in her hair was sealed and destroyed by Rygar Adoldia himself.
But the gift did not vanish; Verdia could still see the future. She remained a Blessed Child — a Miko.
With that in mind, logic said that her daughter, the fruit of her union with her husband, should be born merely more talented than average, nothing more.
That was the rule. But there was one detail.
The child's father was Rygar Adoldia. The man the world called the Apocalypse Beast.
Lineage was important in a world where strength was above all.
If someone was born of a Sword God, the chances of their child coming into the world without any talent with the blade were almost nil.
The same principle applied to any branch of strength or talent.
Verdia was an exceptional mage, archer, and swordswoman. Besides that, she was a Miko.
But Rygar went further; he was completely off the charts, a being whose very existence defied common limits.
Even without considering his innate talent, simply the Laplace Factor and his Demon Eyes already placed him in a category apart from everyone else.
Never, in all of history, had there been a union between someone with the Laplace Factor and a Blessed Child.
In fact, many Mikos were fortunate just to find someone, and the odds of such a union had always been nearly zero.
The question was: what would a child born of two such abnormal beings be like?
---
Verdia Adoldia and Eris Adoldia went into labor on the same day.
The news spread quickly; there was some initial panic, but it soon dissipated. After all, coincidences like that, though uncommon, were not impossible.
What drew attention was the fact that Eris's labor was about a month early. Still, a month earlier or later was not really considered a problem.
Rygar, this time, was less nervous. He had already gone through that before with the birth of Diana and Perseus.
Still, his nature prevented him from fully relaxing.
He had the instinct to protect them. Ghislaine, Jino, and Ornthorn guarded the perimeter, alert to the slightest movement.
Inside the house, Rygar stayed close to his wives, ready to act if anything got out of hand.
Lilia, Selene, and two other experienced midwives conducted the delivery.
Eris's labor proceeded surprisingly quickly. In just two hours, a baby's cry echoed through the house.
It was another girl — a little girl with intensely red hair and eyes like rubies, matching her mother's.
But unlike Eris, the little one had small beast-like ears and a short, fluffy tail that moved slightly.
The sight was enough to disarm any trace of the swordswoman's stiffness.
Eris, who had so wanted a boy, couldn't even express frustration upon seeing her daughter.
Seeing those ears and that tail, her heart melted instantly. It was a critical blow for someone of the Boreas family, and she fell without resistance before the cuteness of her daughter.
Rygar, watching, just smiled.
Eris had said that if it were a boy, she wanted to choose the name. But, since it was a girl, the right passed to him.
Rygar had already thought about it; the name would be Iris.
He didn't remember the exact meaning, but he liked the sound — and he liked that it resembled Eris's name.
She liked it too, and so Rygar's third daughter was named Iris Adoldia.
At first glance, everything indicated she had been born perfectly healthy.
The other labor… was not going so smoothly.
Ten hours had passed. At that rate, the two children wouldn't even be born on the same day.
Rygar was getting more and more nervous with each passing second.
And when finally the second cry echoed — after so much waiting — Rygar thought it was good that he was there.
It was also a girl.
Of course, Rygar already knew this — or rather, he was almost certain. After all, his life had taken a complete turn after the visit of a certain futuristic elf a few months earlier.
The baby was a little girl with green hair and golden eyes; she cried loudly, as if to announce her arrival.
The small pointed ears, inherited from Verdia, trembled slightly.
Rygar was watching everything with his Demon Eyes. The little elf's mana shone like a small sun.
He had seen strong manas before; those born with the Laplace Factor possessed mana that was denser, stronger, more vibrant.
But that of the little girl was different. Lilia held the child in her arms, cleaning her carefully, when something unexpected happened.
The small golden eyes opened. The crying stopped, and a glow emanated from her gleaming irises.
And then… the girl vanished.
Before everyone's eyes. Without sound, without movement — she simply disappeared.
Rygar froze for a second, searching for traces. But there was nothing.
No living creature could move so fast as to escape his sight. She hadn't moved — she had simply ceased to be there.
Then, there was a sound.
"Huh?"
It sounded confused, coming from another part of the room.
Everyone looked at the same time.
And there she was.
Sitting on top of the dresser, her head tilted with curiosity, watching everyone around her as if it were normal.
An immediate thought crossed Rygar's mind:
'Teleportation?!'
But the little one didn't give anyone time to react.
Her golden eyes shone again — and Rygar, now on alert, reacted before she vanished again.
״Disturb.״
In an instant, the space around the child vibrated and stabilized, the mana fluctuations vanished.
The teleportation attempt was luckily interrupted — and, surprisingly, the baby laughed, letting out a joyful sound, as if someone had tickled her.
Rygar crossed the room in the blink of an eye and took her into his arms, carefully. The little girl looked at him for a brief moment before resting her head on his chest, calm.
Eris, who was watching everything with Iris in her arms, blinked several times, astonished.
"She... she was just born and she's already so fast?!"
Everyone turned to her, then to Rygar, seeking confirmation.
Rygar took a deep breath and answered with a slight smile:
"No... she's not fast. She just teleported."
Silence fell over the room.
Selene's, Lilia's, Verdia's, and the other midwives' jaws simply dropped in shock.
Eris frowned, trying to understand:
"Oh! So she's not that fast?"
Rygar shook his head. Eris sighed, relieved.
"Thank goodness... imagine taking care of a child with that speed, it would be a nightmare!"
Everyone stared at her, unsure whether to laugh or cry. Teleportation is even worse!
Verdia was still processing what she had just witnessed. How could she be able to do that having just been born?!
Rygar had already warned her about the Laplace Factor, so she expected that her daughter might be born with green hair, but this... this went beyond any logic.
The little one grew drowsier, and then fainted. Probably due to mana exhaustion, after all, she was a newborn.
Rygar held her, watching in silence. His expression was complicated — a mixture of astonishment, expectation, and concern.
He had already expected something surprising from a daughter of his with Verdia, but still... he was taken by surprise.
Finally, he looked at everyone in the room, who were still stunned, and said in a calm but serious tone:
"I don't need to say that this information must not leave this room under any circumstances, right?"
His gaze lingered for a moment on the two midwives. They were trusted women, but still, it needed to be reinforced.
Both nodded immediately, without hesitation.
With that, Rygar returned to Verdia's side, carrying the sleeping baby in his arms.
Verdia received her carefully, still dazed. For a moment she simply remained silent, staring at the child's tranquil face.
Then a soft smile blossomed on her lips.
She lifted her eyes to Rygar and asked in a low voice:
"Shall we keep the name?"
Rygar nodded.
The name had already been decided beforehand — Aurora.
That was the name of the Immortal Fairy of the Kingdom of Gaia.
And so Aurora Adoldia came into the world, Rygar Adoldia's fourth daughter.
The child who would one day be known as the Shifter Miko.
