Dove
I sucked in a deep breath and wondered how Bucky expected me to respond to that. Not that I sensed the compliment had any hidden message, it just felt weird to recieve compliments from him after everything we had been throuh. Clearly the brandy was making him have loose lips but at the same time I doubted. He looked absolutely sober to me.
"Am I making you feel awkward?" he tilted is head to the side and chuckled, "I mean the compliment in a very platonic, I'm your boss way. You have nothing to worry about Dove."
"I know," I breathed out, "I'm still trying to find safe common ground in my head."
