Part 2
A few days later.
Haruto was looking at himself in the mirror while placing a white flower on his navy blue suit.
"You definitely look better in red, kizu," the little fairy said, fluttering around him.
"I know, Kizuna, but it's a formal birthday party. Blue looks more proper."
"Option! You could have gone in white with a red shirt."
Haruto laughed softly.
"Olivia, you should never wear white to birthdays or weddings. That just makes you compete with the birthday girl."
"Error! Light elves always wear white."
"But Haruto is not a light elf, kizu…"
Haruto proudly adjusted his tie.
"He's misaligned, kizu," she added.
But instead of getting offended, Haruto smiled, remembering Melodía's words.
"You're a good person, but you're still misaligned."
"I guess you're right," he answered calmly.
Kizuna crossed her arms with confidence.
"I'm impressed by how much you've grown, kizu."
Haruto looked at her and tapped her head with his index finger.
"What are you talking about, Goldilocks? I've always been like this."
"Goldi-what?" she replied.
"If you're going to be flying around at the party, don't forget to wear a dress."
"Yeah, yeah…"
Kizuna's clothes changed in a flash, and now she was wearing a pastel pink dress.
"Affirmative!" Olivia did the same as her sister and appeared in a lilac dress.
"You both look amazing. Now we're ready," Haruto said with excitement.
He stretched his fist toward them.
"Let's go save Melodia!"
"That's right, Haruto-kyun!"
"Affirmative! Master!"
The three of them cheered together, ready for the big night.
Downstairs, the girls were also getting ready.
Yuna was putting on leaf-shaped jewelry, the symbol of her tribe. Her eyes moved for a brief moment toward Simmone and Thalindra.
"Don't fight the dress or you'll tear it. Be more gentle," Simo said.
"I hate it! I should go in my armor to show the power of the dwarves."
Simo looked at her with her usual blank expression, but let out a sigh.
"Elegance is also power," the small Victorian girl replied.
"Heh, heh, heh. Indeed, look at me in this elegant black dress. And I am much stronger than all of you, simple mortals!" Eliza said dramatically.
The two girls simply ignored her.
"Inferior beings! You don't understand the grace of vampires," she protested with indignation.
Meanwhile, Rina was wearing her beautiful green dress, sitting stiffly on a couch, like a child waiting to be called at a medical office.
"And what's wrong with you, overfed lizard?" Eliza asked, walking toward the velociraptor.
"Main: me Rina, not 'lizard thing' you say… Thing two: hard walk with foot trap things," she replied, looking down.
"You mean your shoes?" Eliza asked, pointing at her feet.
"Yes, yes… those thing."
Eliza stared at her, confused.
"Who was the idiot that decided to put these shoes on someone this tall?"
Simmone raised her hand.
"Oh… ho. Excellent… decision, young British lady."
Even though Simo's face showed no change at all, she gave a thumbs-up in approval while a small spark of confidence shine in her eye.
In truth, Eliza didn't want to admit that Simo had made a mistake.
Yuna slowly walked over to Rina. Anyone who saw her in that dress and its details would say she looked like an elven goddess.
"Rina, if you weren't comfortable with those shoes, you should have said so."
The velociraptor lowered her gaze.
"Me not know be so complicated and sister Simo like them."
"But do you like them?"
Rina looked up at her.
"Not like. Remove mobility. Hurt feet…"
Yuna took her hands.
"We can't replace them now. Your feet are bigger than the others."
"Why not, just this once, don't wear them? Go barefoot, no one will notice."
The young girl's eyes lit up with joy.
"Rina can do that? Feet be free?"
Yuna gently patted her head.
"That's right, no one will notice," Yuna said with a smile.
"Although with her height, I doubt anyone would dare look at her feet," she thought.
"Yayyy! Rina be free! Again!"
At that moment, Haruto came down the stairs, with Olivia and Kizuna floating at his side.
Simmone ran toward Haruto and jumped to hug him.
"Do I look good, brother?" she asked with no expression.
"It looks very beautiful on you, Simo. You're like a Victorian doll."
She simply nodded, but Haruto knew she was happy.
"I see you have good taste, young mortal. What do you think of my outfit for this night gala?" Eliza said with a dramatic pose.
Haruto looked at her without any emotion.
"You look the same as always… like a gothic loli."
"Humph, simple human. You are clearly a mundane being who understands nothing about life."
Haruto simply ignored her and looked at the others.
"You all look great in those dresses. Melodía will be delighted to see you."
Thalindra blushed a little while crossing her arms. The truth was, 'looking cute' was not a phrase she remembered ever hearing before.
Rina smiled with excitement while celebrating.
But Haruto's eyes stayed a few seconds longer than normal on Yuna. He was truly impressed. Without noticing, he quickly looked away.
"That suit doesn't look so bad on you. You even seem more serious," Thalindra commented. "Better than that ridiculous red trench coat you always wear."
"Thanks…" he replied with indignation.
Yuna stepped forward and extended her hand in front of everyone.
"It seems we're ready… Let's rescue our friend."
"Yeah, time to show those stuck-up elves who we are," Thalindra replied.
"We're not going to fight, you know?" Simo said.
"It's… just a way of saying."
"Let's get our light elf back. She's very important to me… to us, to the group, I mean," Haruto added, nervous.
The others just laughed and agreed.
"Time to ruin that fake celebration," Yuna declared as she walked toward the main door, and the rest followed her.
