He took another drag of his cigarette, coldly watching the middle-aged man.
The middle-aged man's body was trembling. He slowly tied a noose with his necktie, then placed it around his neck. Standing on the chair, he looked at Carl, "Don't forget your promise to me!"
"Fack!" he cursed again, unable to hold back, then kicked the chair over with one swift motion.
Watching the struggling middle-aged man, Carl's buttocks suddenly lifted off the chair. But just as he was about to stand up, his movements halted.
Hope flashed in the eyes of the guy hanging on the wall but quickly dimmed again.
Carl sat back down slowly, taking drag after drag of his cigarette, watching the middle-aged man hanging on the wall until he moved no more.
He took one last drag of his cigarette and exhaled slowly.
As the smoke left his mouth, it rose languidly, obscuring his vision until everything became blurred.
