"We call this the Ancestral Tree." Wearing a smile on his face, Garandel supported Alaric as he got up.
Looking at Alaric's confused eyes, the elven king explained. "All deceased elves are buried here. Do you see it? The reason why this part of the forest is thriving with life is that it contains our people's memories."
Hearing this, a look of realization dawned on Alaric. He stared at the Ancestral Tree and turned his eyes to the dense greenery around them. It was full of life and vigor.
He could see butterflies and other insects flying from flower to flower. There were also small animals like birds and squirrels on the branches of the nearby trees, curiously watching them.
"It's beautiful," Alaric mumbled as he captured the magical scenery.
Garandel chuckled. With a serious face, he said. "Now that you are a son of the forest, it will be your task to protect this place. You must not let it fall into danger."
Alaric solemnly nodded. "I will protect this place."
