"What a rare guest."
The Empress squinted her red eyes, glanced at the Foolish King twice, then completely ignored his outstretched hand and turned back into the house.
Despite her cold reaction, the man showed no trace of displeasure, calmly withdrew his withered hand, and followed the Empress inside.
"Sit." Without turning her head, the Empress ordered in a tone akin to one commanding a dog.
The Foolish King sat obediently but was momentarily stunned.
The Empress retrieved a plate of snacks from a coarse cabinet, fetched a packet of tea leaves, boiled water over the stove, and began brewing tea.
"How could I trouble Your Majesty..." He hurriedly stood, somewhat flattered.
"It's nothing. Although you're from an enemy nation, the proper courtesy to an envoy must be observed."
Nonchalantly, the Empress set the tea utensils in place.
