"How are we going to reach Yunzabit Heights?"
Mai wanted to know their plan. Yunzabit Heights was far away from this area of the world.
To reach that place by foot, they'll need a yearlong hike. Mai didn't think Tien and Pilaf wanted to wait that long.
"I have an idea."
Pilaf took out a capsule.
"We will travel using my private jet."
"Boss can fly, but we can't; traveling with my private plane would be faster."
Poof
Pilaf threw out a military capsule, and a slender futuristic plane appeared on the ground.
Patting its metal shell Pilaf introduced his invention to Tien, wanting to prove his abilities to his new boss.
"Yunzabit Heights is known for its extremely windy weather."
Pilaf opened the plane hatch.
"This plane is perfect for such an environment."
"It flies using a magnetic field instead of air resistance."
"As long as the winds aren't too strong, we can fly safely."
Knowing about the environment they were about to face, Pilaf took necessary precautions.
Tien was impressed by his thoughtful actions; he expected nothing less from this genius scientist.
Although Tien didn't need a plane, Pilaf and his henchman did. This was the most suitable method for them to travel.
"Alright, sounds good. Let's go."
Tien jumped into the passenger seat; Pilaf and Shu quickly took the driver's seat, and Mai sat beside Tien.
The hatch closed, and the plane hovered in the air; with a slight whirl, the jet rushed out like a missile.
Tien felt the G-force and held onto his seat; soon they had stabilized, and the ride became smooth.
It took the group five hours to reach the edge of the new continent. The winds had picked up speed, but it was nothing too much.
"We are nearing our destination."
Pilaf controlled the aircraft.
"Where are we supposed to land? I can't see anyone in this area."
Tien closed his eyes and answered Pilaf.
"I will tell you where to go; Yamcha and Chiaotzu should be here already."
"Their energy signature will show us where they are staying."
"We will go and meet them."
Following Tien's directions, Pilaf began flying the plane deeper into the continent, but as time passed, the jet started to become unstable.
Rumbling sounds were coming out of the engine, and the passenger seat was shaking uncontrollably.
Pilaf was gripping the control stick tightly; his forehead was covered in sweat. The environment here was so much worse than he had expected.
"Boss, the winds here are too strong."
Pilaf pulled the control stick with all his might, trying to stabilize the plane.
"We can't fly like this; my plane isn't built to handle such a harsh environment."
The creaking cabin seemed to prove his point, and when they heard a glass-shattering sound, their faces turned grey.
Mai's face was ashen after she saw the window on her side crack; she jumped and tried to hold the breaking window.
"Don't touch it—"
Tien yelled with wide eyes, but Mai had already touched the weakened window.
CRASH
Which broke the glass completely, bringing strong winds inside, which wreaked absolute havoc.
The winds were so harsh, the plane was disintegrated from the inside within a second.
Tien, Pilaf, Shu, and Mai were thrown out like rag dolls; broken glass and metal pieces were stuck to their bodies.
"Shit."
Cursing angrily Tien covered his eyes; the sand blowing in the harsh storm had gotten into his eye.
His eyes were burning with pain; having three eyes in such an environment was really bad.
Triclops's eyes were very sensitive, just like a Saiyan's tail. Tien wanted to just lie down, and wash the sand out of his eyes right now.
But he didn't have the luxury of doing so. There was no water here, only raging winds and dust.
"I finally understand why no one lives here."
Tien muttered as he was smacked to the ground by the storm.
Not being able to see or sense any living things made flying in this weather almost impossible.
This must be why Mr. Popo and Bulma used God's flying carpet when they visited this place in the original story.
Machinery and regular flying technique simply doesn't work here; Tien experienced this firsthand.
"Tien! Are you okay?"
Suddenly, a voice called out to him from the mountains; although he couldn't see right now, he knew this voice deeply.
"Is that you, Chiaotzu? I am here."
Tien rubbed his eyes and tried to hear Chiaotzu's voice, but the loud windy roars made it impossible to hear anything clearly.
Only Chiaotzu's broken words could be heard, but it was enough to give Tien a general direction to sense.
Soon he sensed a small man making his way towards him, but unlike him, Chiaotzu had no problem walking inside the storm.
This confused Tien until he sensed a telekinetic barrier around Chiaotzu, which protected him from the winds.
"Hold on, Tien, I am here."
Tien soon felt Chiaotzu's telekinetic barrier wrap around him as well, and the roaring winds finally quieted down.
"Chiaotzu, I can't thank you enough my friend."
Tien got up from the ground while removing the glass shards stuck to his body.
"It seems your telekinesis superpower is perfect for this place."
"I would be in trouble if not for you; this place isn't friendly to us Triclops."
After he got a chance to breathe, Tien remembered Pilaf and his team.
Like him, they were also thrown off the plane, but unlike him, they were normal squishy humans.
Even Tien was smacked to the ground just now, the Pilaf trio had no way to survive a fall like that.
"Chiaotzu, we have to find Pilaf quickly."
Tien urgently sensed their ki, although his eyes were still closed due to discomfort.
But when he sensed the trio's energy signature at the same place, huddling together, he was relieved.
There was only one reason they had managed to survive this crash; someone had saved them.
"Are you talking about those three guys?"
Chiaotzu pointed with his thumb.
"We were all hiding in a cave when Yamcha saw your plane explode."
"I covered him with telekinesis, and we ran to save you guys."
"I came to you, and Yamcha went to save those three."
"He should have gotten to them by now."
Tien smiled with relief; he was grateful to Yamcha for acting so quickly.
He and Chiaotzu had saved the day.
"Let's go Chiaotzu; take me to the cave you guys have found."
Tien patted Chiaotzu's shoulder.
"This place is way worse than I had anticipated."
"But we are already here; we can't back out now."
