A long corrugated roof stretched over the yard, casting deep shade.
Beneath it sat a weathered wooden deck, its boards warped and rotting.
Rusted junk lay scattered about, and through the open wooden door, the house appeared completely empty.
Wooheon took a deep breath, eyes scanning the area.
Toward the back, up a short flight of steps, sat a container repurposed into a storage shed.
“It’s kind of creepy here.”
Yueul muttered.
No sunlight reached this far in.
The air felt oddly cold.
Wrapping his arms around himself, Yueul trailed behind Wooheon.
Now that they were actually inspecting the site, his mood shifted.
Back in the village, he’d been excited—charmed by the rural setting, lighthearted from talking to the old couple.
But here, after they’ve entered the site that was once the headquarters of the Wan-In Sect, it finally felt like work.
