The downpour swept over the palace in an instant.
Rain pounded down in steady sheets as they ducked into a pavilion behind Baekryeon Lodge, shaking the water from their soaked garments.
“It’s really coming down.”
“It’s just a passing shower. It’ll be over soon.”
“I’m not so sure....”
It might look like a passing shower from the way it was falling, but with the sky completely blanketed in dark clouds, it didn’t seem like it would let up anytime soon.
Probably another full hour, judging by the sky. Hwayeong flicked the water from her hems, then gave her damp hair a brisk shake.
“Good thing this pavilion’s here.”
If not, they’d have been stuck out in the rain or huddling under the lodge’s eaves.
She gave herself one last rough pat-down and turned her gaze toward the distant sky.
“Hope it stops soon....”
