A cold realization settled in his chest at the thought, because the meaning behind the timer was painfully obvious.

And this timer… this countdown hanging in the sky above Sam… it could only be there for one purpose.
If he failed to defeat even one of the ten [Colossals] within the hour, then the [King] would release them.
Sam didn't know the full extent of that threat, but he had a feeling that the moment they escaped, the entire [Soul Realm] would change in a way he didn't want to witness.
The thought alone made something twist uneasily in his chest.
Still, he flapped his wings harder and flew toward the giant electrical beam closest to him, pushing all unnecessary thoughts aside.
