Chapter 201 - A Prince's Fate

Daimon had his hands up in the air as he rained down a lightning upon the tentacled creature that attacked them. At the same time, another storm of lightning created by a group of Balance Keepers were destroying the Killiks attacking the front lines.

This gave the Ascendants and the Empyrean Guards room to rest, while also creating a wall of lightning blocking the Killiks from swarming them.

The creature was being cooked alive as the lightning slowly burned its body. Its tentacles retracted as they started to shrivel up and die. The creature screamed so loud that even the ground shook.

It started to pull its tentacles back into the spire, so Daimon rushed in and followed it, jumping down the large hole that led underground.

As he was falling, he sensed the creature right below him and had sent a powerful Force wave down, right on top of the creature's head. The creature was forced down into the ground, leaving it stunned.

Seeing this opportunity, Daimon aimed his lightsaber right below him, lodging his lightsaber right into the creature's head. With his lightsaber lodged in the creature's head, he directly shot lightning throughout the creature's body, vaporizing it in a matter of seconds.

The creature went limp as it was dead, and now the biggest threat to them was gone.

He Force jumped back up to the surface and exited the spire to the sounds of cheering as the men knew that the creature was dead.

But as soon as he stepped out of the spire, he felt a connection being severed. The world seemed to slow around him. Every sound on the battlefield, the distant cheers of his soldiers, the crackle of lightning, all of it faded as he could hear his own heartbeat.

His connection with his son Malrik was gone. Which meant either he was dead or lost his connection to the Force.

Progenitor Kaevor was already rushing over as the fleet just got news of what was going on in parts of the Imperium. "Daimon, the Imperium is under attack by the Killiks! We have to get back." As he said this though, he sensed something was wrong. But before he could say anything he was cut off.

"This was a set up," Daimon said. "Get everybody back to the ships and back to our territory. I have somewhere to be." said Daimon as he Force teleported to Kashyyyk.

Progenitor Kaevor wanted to ask what was going on, but Daimon was already gone. So, he carried out what Daimon told him and ordered all forces back to their ships to get back to Imperium space.

Appearing on Kashyyyk in the midst of the battle, all Daimon saw around him was the chaos of war. So, he ignited his lightsaber and started to carve a path to where he could kind of feel where his son was at.

He charged through killing hundreds of Killiks with all types of Force attacks until he arrived at where Malrik was at. He saw Seraphine holding his head and crying on his chest, but the next thing he saw surprised him.

The Daughter was also near Malrik and was using some type of Force technique on him.

"What happened?" asked Daimon as everybody looked at him. The Empyrean Guards immediately got on their knee and placed their hands across their chest. This was standard for them, but it was also because they failed their mission that they wanted to all die at this moment.

Of the 10,000 Empyrean Guards on the planet, only about 500 remained alive. But before their death, each one took thousands of Killiks with them. The Wookiees also fought hard, losing millions across the entire planet against the Killiks before they pulled back.

"He was stabbed with the Dagger of Mortis, same as my father. But I managed to stabilize him somewhat," answered the Daughter. She had failed save her Father from her brother, but she wasn't going to allow the same thing to happen to Daimon whom she believed could help her beat him.

Daimon ran over to him and placed his hands on his chest. He could feel that the connection to the Force was severed, which meant that his son was no longer a Force sensitive. He could no longer establish a strong connection with him, which meant that he wouldn't be able to sense his status through just the Force anymore.

"Thank you," said Daimon, closing his eyes and taking a breath. The possibility that his son was lost was something that was racing through his mind while he was running here.

"Where's Aruun?" Daimon asked.

"He left a minute or so before I got here. I also can't sense his presence in orbit, so I assume he already fled having accomplished his objective." Hearing this, Daimon bald up his fist out of anger.

Since he started his new life, he prided himself on wanting to protect those that he loved and cared for. His first failure was losing his master during the hundred years of darkness. And he used that painful experience to make so that something like that wouldn't happen again.

But it seems that even if he was all powerful, things can still happen. The galaxy was a vast place with many dangers out there. He had neglected keeping tabs on those dangers because of his knowledge from his previous life.

Looking down at his son who was still unconscious, he can see that he may need a firmer hand. Things were going to change on a galactic scale either for the better or for the worst. He can't predict the future so well now due to his presence causing drastic changes in the timeline.

So, whether it be through military or diplomacy, he will ensure that all threats and potential threats or dealt with from now on.

He looked up into the sky, already seeing what the future may hold. Many trillions may die, but that is the price he is willing to make to ensure something like this doesn't happen again.

As he stayed with his son monitoring his condition, the Imperial fleet swept through the system, destroying every single Killik ship that they could. Next, they landed ground forces on the Kashyyyk and the other planets that were also invaded to massacre the Killiks.

The Imperium's army didn't know what had happened to the prince, but they did know that they were here to help fight for him. Any threat to him would be utterly wiped out.

It didn't take long before Malrik was loaded onto a ship and transported back to Veldari. Daimon went with him, while Elara was already waiting back on Veldari for her son to return. When she heard the news originally from Daimon, she wanted to rush to Kashyyyk to see him, but Daimon managed to convince her to wait on Veldari since they would be there in an hour or so.

On the trip back, Daimon was briefed by Cortana and the High Council on the current invasions happening across the Imperium's space.

The first was the Northern invasion which had been the most concentrated of the three assaults. Nearly two million Killik vessels had emerged from hyperspace across seven systems simultaneously, targeting the string of border fortress-worlds that had been established hundreds of years ago. The Northern Fleet, commanded by Admiral Grand Admiral Threnn Voss, had been caught with barely sixty percent of its strength on station, the rest having been temporarily reassigned to support logistics for the fleeing refugees from the Republic-Sith war.

Of the seven fortress-worlds, three had temporarily fallen. Population evacuation was only partially successful before communications were severed by the same jamming technology used at Kashyyyk. They couldn't tell, but there was likely still Imperial forces still fighting, but as of now, civilian casualties were estimated to be in the millions.

Admiral Voss had consolidated the remaining fleet around Ravos Prime and was holding out against the onslaught of Killik forces.

Within Imperial Hutt space, Princess Luna and Princess Vaelora were also attacked by what had been reported as a very strong type of Killik, which was defeated by the both of them. From there they managed to hold the territory against the Killik invasion with only a few local garrisons struggling to contain the threat.

The last region was the Imperium Core. The Killiks had managed to bypass the Imperium's hyperlanes watch teams and make above Veldari. However, as soon as they exited hyperspace, they found themselves completely overwhelmed.

Defensive guns floating in space around the hyperlane exits had immediately opened fire after the ships were identified to be Killiks. On top of this, the Veldari defense fleet mobilized and within minutes had the Killik fleet surrounded.

That was from the most recent report, and the Killik fleet was still being destroyed. Other areas of the core were also attacked, but the defenses were holding overwhelmingly well. Daimon was surprised by this as the Imperium's core is known throughout the galaxy as an impenetrable fortress.

Aruun underestimated the defenses of the Imperium's core as he thought his fleets to be superior and capable of bypassing the Imperium's defenses. But he was wrong, and this war that he started would go on to show that.
