Seras did not know how to react.
A demon lord had just asked her for help.
She stood frozen for a moment, staring at Paimon as if the words had not truly reached her.
"No. I won't. You are the enemy," Seras replied. Her fingers tightened around the hilt of her sword. How could she ever work with a demon?
Paimon ground her teeth in frustration.
"We cannot stop this alone. If those Outsiders break free, this world is finished. It will not matter if you are human, elf, beast kin, or demon. We will all walk the same path to ruin."
Seras hesitated. Her gaze drifted without her noticing and fell on Damon, standing among the ruins below, sword in hand, staring up at the entity in the sky.
"I won't help you," she said at last. "But if you happen to be fighting my enemy, then it cannot be helped. No one touches my people."
With a thunderous boom, she vanished.
