The Voidwalker Ancestor sighed softly.
"Those are the same questions I asked myself after being sealed."
His voice came out quieter than before.
"At first, I thought the sacred legacy was simply an inheritance the First Progenitor left behind for one chosen descendant. I thought it held a supreme path, a forbidden technique, or maybe the complete source of the five bloodline branches. That's what all five clans believed. We protected it because our ancestors told us to. We feared it because our bloodlines feared it. We worshiped it because it came from him."
The old man looked up at the glowing statue.
"But after the legacy moved on its own, after it influenced members of my clan and disappeared, I started to question whether we'd ever really understood it at all."
A cold silence spread through the arena.
