Seeing Ethan openly summon Arlene, while Arlene obediently hurried toward him without the slightest hesitation, clearly established that there was a special connection between his supposed rival, the princess who was currently traveling with the opposing group.
The sight made Erius feel humiliated.
What made it worse were the gazes that immediately fell upon him.
Misril's expression was filled with bewilderment, while Pebba and Reed exchanged looks that carried an unmistakable hint of amusement.
It felt as though they were silently mocking him for allowing someone who was supposed to be his party member and protector to openly maintain such a connection with Princess Arlene.
