[Chapter Size: 3000 Words.]
Third Person POV
Skellige.
...
...
The men of the castle quickly began switching out the chairs, placing tables in their place, along with the very same chairs so that people could sit and help themselves, while the whole place turned into a social gathering at that moment.
King Bran laughed loudly, while Mousesack joined the family of the King of Skellige, exchanging a few words.
Yennefer wasted no time and conjured an altar 120 centimeters tall along with the quill and ink for the document formalizing the marriage.
"Now I want everyone to put their names and sign as witnesses." She said, while each one began stepping forward to the paper, and none other than the kings themselves were the first to sign, followed by their families.
Dandelion, in a hurry, came right after, ahead of the other nobles and sorcerers, having dragged the dwarf with him. Zoltan certainly looked at the bard as if he were an idiot, for he had just drawn too much attention to them, and he didn't like those snobbish nobles staring at them as if they didn't belong there.
Madara was still being held by Ciri's arms, stepping down the altar's platform at that moment to the other side, away from the crowd.
"Can't we just run away already?" Ciri asked, while watching the servants beginning to place the tables and adjust the chairs around them.
"It wouldn't be smart, as much as I'm tempted by the idea of leaving here too." Madara replied, while Ciri smiled.
"What a shame then, we'll have to wait a little longer..." She said, as the two of them moved to a corner, so they wouldn't be among the crowd and wouldn't get in the servants' way.
The first people who came to approach them, while Geralt was helping Yennefer at her side checking all the signatures, were three noble girls. They came up to Ciri with smiles.
"You were dazzling!" Exclaimed one of them, while Ciri returned the smile.
"Well, I can't complain." She said to her newly met acquaintances.
"Really, your message was so cute. I hope my wedding will be that romantic." Said another in a dreamy tone.
"Well, I doubt you'll have two kings present." Retorted the third.
"Well, I'm not a princess." Replied the second, rolling her eyes.
Ciri looked at Madara apologetically, since she knew well the personality of those three, who had helped fix her hair and dress her.
"These are... Amelie var Drakenfell, Lyanna aep Hrovitz, and Selene Donnermark. Ladies of Redania, Temeria, and Kaedwen." Ciri introduced the three to Madara in numerical order.
"And where will you have the honeymoon? Do you intend to stay here in the castle?" Asked the first, Amelie, right after with enthusiasm.
"About that... Well, only my husband can answer. But I doubt you'll get an answer, since even I haven't managed to get him to open up to me. It seems he wants to keep it a secret." Said Ciri to the girls, not very satisfied, but she winked with a laugh as a way of making it into a joke at the end.
"Really... So he wants to make it a surprise! How romantic." Said the second, Lyanna, looking at Madara with admiration, while he kept a calm face.
"It won't be in the castle. Soon we'll catch a ride to go somewhere else." Madara only replied, while something passed over him like a flash.
Only he and Ciri noticed, while the three girls remained unaware. A small scroll began descending from above, as Madara caught it with a smooth motion — it was something one of his clones had left for him when it sped above at high speed.
He took and opened the letter that one of his clones seemed to have tossed, showing some situation that required his attention. He read it and handed it to Ciri, while the three girls looked confused, asking where that paper he had grabbed from above his head had come from.
She read it and hardly changed her calm facial expression. He had simply handed the paper to Ciri. Who widened her eyes as she read the contents.
"Let me get him... actually, can we take him?" Ciri asked.
"Of course." Madara said, after all it wouldn't be smart to keep the little unicorn foal in the castle while they were away.
"I'll be right back then!" Said Ciri and, before the girls could react, she simply shone and vanished beside Madara, startling them, making them let out a cry of surprise and drawing the attention of others around, leaving only the groom in place after the glow faded.
"Wait... she disappeared!" One of them screamed in horror.
Madara crossed his arms and faced them. "Didn't she tell you she had magical abilities?" He said in a calm tone, as if it were obvious. After all, many people had already seen her teleporting at the entrance of the castle, and there were also rumors that she could use magic.
From the looks of the guests toward them, it certainly didn't seem to be something so widely shared among the nobles, who whispered. Madara shrugged, while the women before him stared, still incredulous.
"She can cast magic? Like... she's a sorceress? Why didn't she tell us that!?" Said one of the girls.
"Yeah... something like that." Madara simply replied, not wanting to explain the matter. That was when he felt the disturbance in space again, and Ciri reappeared with more eyes turned toward her, mainly Tissaia's, from what Madara could notice, watching quite intently.
Ciri reappeared with a small white, horned animal by her side, startling the girls once again.
"Sorry about that." Said Ciri as soon as she materialized beside the unicorn.
The girls blinked before widening their eyes.
"I know what that is, princess... that's a unicorn?" Asked one of them.
"Uh... that was a gift we received last night, as a wedding gift from the King of Redania... He's a unicorn who's staying with us until his mother comes to fetch him. His name is Eira. Isn't he adorable?" Said Ciri enthusiastically.
The three girls melted over the unicorn the next moment, while he seemed a little skittish with their touch, as they pestered him. This also caught the attention of many nobles. Among them, Madara saw Thorne with his family approaching, stepping out of the crowd.
One of the noble girls who still insisted on touching the uncomfortable animal saw Thorne. She immediately began to back away, drawing the attention of the others.
"Your Majesty." They said, while Thorne only stared at Madara.
"Well... shall we resume our little conversation?" He said, while the girls, intimidated by the interaction with the King of Sodden, moved away from the spot.
Then Thorne turned back to Ciri, beside Madara who kept the foal at his side. "Princess Cirilla, I must say that Madara is a lucky man. But surely you are in the best hands you could ever be in, among everyone in this world." He said in a courteous and respectful tone.
"Well, I couldn't ask for anything more." Said Ciri with a friendly smile.
"You look beautiful. They say you look a lot like your grandmother, Queen Calanthe." The woman beside Thorne, the Queen of Sodden, also offered a few kind words.
"Thank you, Queen ____." Ciri said with a smile.
"First of all, let me offer a gift." Said Thorne this time, while glancing at one of his subordinates, who quickly understood the meaning of the king's look.
"Attention, everyone!" Exclaimed the man, coming forward with a scroll and stepping onto the platform, since, as it was a gift from a king, it should be announced to all present. He began to unroll the scroll.
"By orders of my king, the King of Sodden, I am here to announce his wedding gift to Madara Uchiha and Ciri. It is nothing less than a property of land in a valley with a great lake on the border of Sodden and Cintra. The couple will be free to use the place as they wish, and Sodden will recognize it as royal property of the royalty of Cintra." He said to everyone, while the nobles whispered and Madara raised an eyebrow at Thorne.
"I know it is not enough to thank you for everything you did for Sodden, Madara, but surely you will like the place. I cannot give those lands to Cintra, for they still belong to Sodden, but I hope you can use the place to build a farm and visit it whenever you want a quiet refuge with a good view of nature. I was there during that war and I must say I was tempted to build something there, I just didn't have the time. So, when I heard of your wedding, I didn't find it inappropriate to give the valley to you and your wife." He said, while Madara nodded.
"Well, we thank you for your kindness, Thorne. We'll look into it later." Madara replied without using a title and addressing him casually, without that bothering the king.
"How beautiful..." Their conversation was interrupted when Thorne's youngest son pointed at the unicorn.
"It's beautiful, isn't it? Give me your hand, I'll let you touch him. His name is Eira." Said Ciri.
She crouched down, offering her hand to the boy, who hesitated a little, and looked at his mother with an uncertain look, while she encouraged him with a smile. Ciri held his little hand and brought it to the foal, who didn't seem as uncomfortable as when touched by the women. The unicorn seemed to like pure children and closed its eyes at the boy's touch.
In the end, that broke the ice, and they began to talk, though they limited the subject quite a bit, since people were staring at them the whole time. However, Thorne's family, his wife and his children, talked with Ciri, while the youngest seemed attached to the unicorn.
The conversation continued. Thorne had handed a message into Madara's hands, inviting him to, alone, when possible, visit the royal family in Sodden, who would be open-armed to welcome him. Madara could understand the reason for such discretion, since there were so many eyes on them there.
After Thorne left, Ciri's three companions, perhaps by order of their parents, seemed more insistent on talking to the princess, now speaking about her magic as if Ciri had hidden a great secret from them the whole time.
Geralt and Yennefer also came along with Zoltan and Dandelion. Eleonor joined them as well.
Yennefer handed the scroll to Madara with the documents proving the marriage between Ciri and Madara, as well as the continuation of Cintra's royal lineage. Madara stored the scroll.
King Bran also joined them with his quite cheerful humor and handed over an official document, for he was giving them a property in Skellige.
"I heard you found a place in the middle of the forest with a lake. Well, I would like to officially give you that place, but I think I will compare myself to the King of Sodden. So, you are free to choose a place anywhere on the island, as long as it isn't occupied by any man or woman of Skellige. That place will be yours. Just speak with Mousesack and it will be your property as long as I live. After all, Skellige will always change kings, and even though I don't think anyone would revoke this with you being friends of Skellige, it's good to guarantee it, since nothing can be fixed forever." He said.
"I understand, Bran." Madara replied, while King Bran opened a smile.
At the end of the street, people began to approach the newlyweds offering them gifts, while servants brought them from the castle and announced their contents, expensive and rare gifts from all over the North.
A crowd seemed to split for the first time. While Yennefer kept Geralt at her side with Ciri, Madara found himself surrounded by nobles shamelessly curious, asking what his plans were and what he intended to do now with Cintra, even if he would soon begin to gather an army, since there was an alliance between Cintra, Skellige, and Sodden.
Madara calmly dodged the questions, replying in a monotonous tone, waiting to wrap it up soon, until Tissaia called him aside.
"You know, I must say you have a lot of hope in that girl you sent to Aretuza." She said as soon as she managed to get a moment with him.
Madara narrowed his eyes. Isabella was supposed to be a secret, but it seemed the rector already knew, and he doubted it was through Yennefer's or Triss's mouths.
"If you're wondering how I know, well, it wasn't hard. I saw Isabella say the name Kaer Morhen a few times and even saw a drawing of a boy with black hair walking through the forest with the girl. From her drawing, it was obviously you. I also heard from some sorceresses who said that one of the members of the group called Akatsuki appeared in one of the cities and helped a hunchbacked girl. And honestly..." She paused before continuing. "Unfortunately, Yennefer would never help a girl without talent, whether she was a version resembling your past or not. And neither would I, I admit. I only accepted Yennefer because there was magical talent in her, unlike most. I don't see much in Isabella..."
Madara stared at her for a while. "How is she?" Was the only thing he managed to ask in the end.
"Honestly, like anyone without magical talent should be. But since you are funding her studies, I won't interfere. I admit the girl is hardworking and, if she continues like this, it won't be impossible to become a mage in the future. It will just take longer and demand much more effort. Which, I admit, she is maintaining, with a glimpse of having a better future."
Madara sighed. And before he could talk more, Ciri came to join him, taking his arm. And Tissaia praised, with interest, her magical abilities from earlier.
They talked a few more times before calling Mousesack, saying they should prepare for departure. Two hours had already passed since the end of the wedding, while people served themselves snacks and high-quality wine — part of the reserves that Madara himself had made available from his stored items, accumulated over the years along with other valuables.
"So now is when you're going to fetch your dragon?" Shouted King Bran after hearing from Mousesack about Madara's request, excitedly, drawing the interest of many people there with the word dragon. An animal rarely seen in the human world.
"Let's go." Said Madara, while Ciri accompanied him at his side. Eira, the foal, wandered with his little hooves beside her, while they began leaving, passing through the corridors of the castle with curious people behind them.
"Did you know Coral came to congratulate me?" Murmured Ciri, narrowing her eyes.
"I saw, but Yennefer stopped her and ran her off." Madara said.
"Yes... there's something wrong with that woman. I don't like her, and not even Yennefer. I was surprised she didn't speak to you too. I don't like the way she looks at you... She makes Cerys seem like an innocent girl, even if annoying." Said Ciri.
"And she would have come to speak normally." Madara said. "But she seemed to recognize that she wasn't welcome there."
He didn't know if he should have let her live now. After all, in the original story, Coral died in Sodden before the battle even happened, and she would have died at the hands of Nilfgaard's mages if not for his interference.
Either way, he finally reached the open area. Madara walked with firm, solitary steps, and the whole place, clean and silent, awaited them. Along with the others, he went to the center of the area, took a kunai, and pierced his finger. Using the blood, he began forming seals with his hands before slamming the ground directly, using the summoning jutsu.
In the next moment, an explosion arose, making everyone retreat at a distance. From the smoke, a green creature began to emerge: a huge dragon, wearing a saddle made by Madara with Wood Style.
At the sight, shouts and exclamations broke out. Those who had once been skeptical of the stories of Madara and Ciri facing dragons could no longer deny the creature before them. Madara was already on top of the saddle.
"Come." He said to Ciri.
She nodded with a dazzling smile, and glowed as she used her ability. Holding the foal, she vanished from the spot and reappeared in front of Madara. The little animal was a bit frightened, but soon settled down, leaning against Ciri's back, who smiled contentedly.
"You really did it..." The dragon grumbled.
He was a little annoyed, but this was the script Madara had already told him yesterday: he couldn't flee from Skellige and, if he did, he would be brought back. The dragon hated that summoning contract he had made with the human, telling himself he had been tricked by a spell.
Either way, he just followed the script. Now that Madara was already on his back, he let out a roar, instructed by the Uchiha yesterday, that echoed throughout the city, frightening the people inside the castle and the town. Only King Bran began to laugh, finding it amusing and admiring the dragon, while King Thorne seemed astonished, as did Geralt, Yennefer, and many others.
In the end, the green wings spread and quickly beat toward the sky, as the dragon began to move, advancing north and leaving the castle behind, carrying the newlywed couple to their own honeymoon.
