Chapter 370 - Chapter 370 - 3 Years Without Seeing You.

[Chapter Size: 2400 Words.]

Third Person POV

Novigrad.

...

...

Inside a cabin north of Novigrad, hidden within the forest, a portal appeared in the middle of the place as a woman wearing Akatsuki robes stepped out of it.

She found her companion who had arrived earlier and Dudu, who was still agitated, breathing heavily and looking around as if he barely understood what was happening or was searching for more guards trying to kill him.

"You finally made it here..." the woman who had brought Dudu pulled back her hood, revealing her red hair.

It was Triss, looking at the woman before her with a mixture of reverence and doubt.

"Yes..." the other woman removed her hood, revealing none other than Tissaia. After all, no other sorceress had the ability to create a storm in the middle of a city without losing her own life force and dying.

"I know what you're going to say, but I wasn't the one who did that..." Tissaia said in a somewhat concerned tone.

"What do you mean by that? You were the one who cast the spell!" Triss looked at her in disbelief.

"I know. And I did that at first to drive the crowd away, but someone or something simply took control of my spell and amplified it, making it far more powerful," she said, shocking the redhead.

"What do you mean someone took your spell? You're the most magically capable person on the continent... perhaps in this world!" Triss could hardly believe the words of her former mentor.

Tissaia pressed her lips together and bit her nail thoughtfully. "I'm not the most capable anymore... You know that, which made me wonder: Could it have been her...?" she asked, trying to recall everything that had happened in the square, but she couldn't detect anything abnormal.

She couldn't even detect Madara's movement because his teleportation had been extremely fast and silent, without magical fluctuations, while everyone had been hooded.

While Ciri was taming Tissaia's spell, she couldn't even detect magic. With her magical control, she had also learned to conceal her magic because of the issue with the Wild Hunt.

However, that alarmed Tissaia greatly. She had never seen anything like it.

Her first suspicion was Ciri, who had already shown magical prowess similar to hers three years earlier. If she had truly mastered her power even further, it wouldn't be impossible for her to display even more absurd abilities, considering the monstrous potential she possessed through the Elder Blood.

"Who are you people? These clothes... I've heard of you," Dudu suddenly interrupted the conversation between the two women, looking uneasy and still somewhat traumatized by the experience of nearly being burned alive.

"Someone who wanted to help you and not let you be burned alive..." Triss replied to Dudu, while the man nodded despite the horrified look still in his eyes. Triss's mind returned to Tissaia's last words.

"Her? It can't be... It's been three years." Triss murmured that almost in shock, feeling something conflicting within herself.

Both she and Tissaia had heard the unicorn's conversation in Aretuza three years ago. They had heard about the possibility of them going to another world and, suddenly, the unicorn did something that deeply shook everyone.

When they woke up, they found only Geralt, Yennefer, and Isabella. Madara and Ciri were gone.

Yennefer was crying while Geralt tried to comfort her. Even Isabella seemed deeply disturbed, saying that Madara and Ciri had left and that they had no idea when they would return.

That shook Triss, and they remained like that for three years. The truth was that some elves from the Wild Hunt went after Geralt during that time, from what she managed to hear, but shortly afterward, things calmed down, at least regarding the Wild Hunt.

Because the entire continent had fallen into a frenzy. The information had been spread to every kingdom.

Since then, the kingdoms had been moving. Nilfgaard launched another attack on the north and was finally invading Temeria, while also attacking other southern kingdoms such as Verden, Brugge, and Sodden, all under assault. But the greatest concentration was in Rivia and Lyria, with Queen Meve personally leading her troops against the Black Ones.

There were rumors that Geralt was involved there and had even received the nickname "Boy of Rivia" for a courageous act against Nilfgaardian troops, being knighted by the queen herself.

At the same time, they watched the north descend into chaos against non-humans, sorcerers, alchemists, and herbalists.

Radovid began his reign of terror one year after his father's death and started taking increasingly harsh measures against non-humans. It only worsened over the years. He was preparing Redania itself against Nilfgaard's Black Knights as well, but he seemed more interested in hunting within his own kingdom.

Novigrad was probably the area in the north where that prejudice was most concentrated. Nothing surprising, considering this was the headquarters of the Eternal Fire.

So Tissaia and Triss began operating there using the cloaks Madara had created for the Akatsuki, both to show that he had not died and to prove they were still fighting for the cause.

That obviously brought countless enemies. Rumors were already being heard that the members of the Akatsuki were sorceresses...

Especially after Philippa had to hide from Radovid after falling into one of his traps meant to eliminate her.

She was captured, and they joined forces to rescue her from prison, but Philippa vanished in the middle of the chaos and disappeared. No one knew where she was hiding in her blind condition.

"It's already been three years... eventually they had to return, right? I just find it surprising that they're showing up now..." Tissaia murmured.

That was when a portal suddenly appeared in the middle of the room, exactly in the same place where Triss had opened the portal earlier.

Except now the portal wasn't green.

"Quick! Hide!" Triss immediately told Dudu, who ran behind the couch while she began preparing magic alongside Tissaia at her side, lightning crackling in their hands.

Both of them prepared for whatever might come out of the portal.

When a hand suddenly emerged outstretched, the fire in Triss's hands and the lightning in Tissaia's hands began to be pulled forward without the sorceresses having any control, surging toward the hand that absorbed all of that energy.

"What?!"

Both of them became alarmed as the hand extended farther and farther, and a person began to appear at the portal's entrance.

When the arm fully emerged and the rest of the body appeared, everyone looked at the hooded man with glowing purple eyes.

Another person appeared beside him, a hooded woman, while Tissaia and Triss remained alarmed.

"It's been a while..." the man immediately confirmed their suspicions as he removed his hood while closing the palm of his hand after absorbing their magical energy, lowering his arm and looking directly at the sorceresses.

"It can't be..." Triss murmured.

Madara removed his hood. Ciri did the same.

Madara's eyes were no longer red, but instead a shade of purple they had never seen before. Soon, they began returning to their usual black as he deactivated his Rinnegan.

"It's been a while, Triss... Tissaia..." Ciri said, placing a hand on her waist, trying to sound relaxed as she gave a small smile.

Triss was the first to react. She moved forward. Since she was closer to Madara, she simply clung to him in a hug.

He had stabilized at nearly six foot three after those three years, and his hair was now very long, worthy of his image as the original Madara Uchiha. He had more muscle now, while maintaining the appearance of a twenty-one-year-old young man.

She then looked at Ciri with a somewhat suspicious expression over Triss hugging Madara like that before hugging her as well, and Ciri accepted the embrace perfectly. Ciri was a slender and very exotic young woman, her breasts having grown considerably due to the fact that she had already become a mother.

Tissaia approached Madara and hugged him as well.

It was a hug he hadn't expected. A warm embrace, almost as warm as Triss's.

"It's been a while... and thank you. I've wanted to say that for a long time. Thank you..." she said with a certain emotion as she pulled back slightly.

Madara raised an eyebrow, clearly not understanding the reason for the thanks.

"You have no idea, do you...? But after all those deaths in Aretuza, I was thinking about taking my own life. I only didn't do it because you, or rather, one of your clones, came to speak with me... He convinced me... He said you didn't have much time and told me things... things you probably already know."

"Things that made me move forward. Things that made me realize there were still things worth fighting for, despite me being a wanted mage and no longer the rector of Aretuza. I'm trying to make a difference..." Tissaia finished...

She was now a criminal. When everything happened, she had a breakdown after the battle calmed down and she woke up in the middle of so many corpses. Not only those of the Wild Hunt, but mainly those of her former colleagues. Even before the Hunt arrived, the northern mages had been fighting and killing one another. All because of greed, fear...

Seeing northern mages, her students, acquaintances, even some professors, killing each other in that manner was something far too difficult for Tissaia to swallow.

She truly had thought about killing herself. That was when Madara's clone appeared and spoke with her. Madara nodded upon hearing that.

He really had created that clone before entering the portal after Ciri three years earlier precisely to stop her, because Tissaia would be far more important alive than dead.

"Madara... Madara, is that really you? I'm not dreaming, am I?" Dudu was the one who broke the atmosphere as he stepped out from behind the couch to check the two people who had arrived.

Tissaia went to greet Ciri after he said that, while Dudu approached at a run.

"You've been through quite a lot, huh, Dudu? It seems your identity was discovered..." she said to the man, who nodded.

"You were there? I heard you disappeared three years ago!" Dudu asked.

"We returned more than six months ago."

That immediately earned looks from Triss and Tissaia toward him, but Madara continued before they could say anything.

"We weren't on the continent. We went to deal with the other continent and destroy something that the gods of this world themselves gave us as a task."

"We spent entire months fighting until we finally destroyed the enemy..." Madara said.

"We returned to this continent two or three days ago, but we only arrived in Novigrad a few hours ago. That's when we heard about Dudu's execution while we were investigating what had happened in the city. It was almost fate..." Ciri explained, while Triss and Tissaia nodded in understanding.

Of course, they wanted to hear more about that, but one thing at a time.

"So you came back today... did you see what they did to me after everything I did? I thought I was a fair man in this city, but they accused me of strange things... things I never did..." Dudu said dejectedly.

"You shouldn't be surprised..." Madara sighed tiredly. "But we were going to rescue you. It seems Tissaia on top of the rooftop decided to do something, so we stayed watching to see what would happen."

"So it was you who interfered with my spell? What you did there was extraordinary. Besides, how did you manage to absorb our magic?" Tissaia spoke first to Ciri, clearly impressed. Then she pointed toward Madara, seeking answers.

"It's been three years since we've been away. We learned a few tricks," he replied with a brief smile.

Despite her doubts, Tissaia didn't insist.

If they had anything to comment about the strange change in his eyes to that purple shade, along with the fact that the irises now concealed even the white part of his eyes, neither of them said anything.

"Let's talk. I want to catch up on everything that's happening before we make a decision."

"Do you want to look at my memories?" Tissaia asked.

Madara shook his head. "Not now. Let's just talk."

"He changed that habit of constantly stealing information from others all the time. He prefers honest conversations now..." Ciri replied with a smile.

Neither of the two sorceresses commented on that.

In any case, they stayed there talking for the next hour, summarizing the events while Madara seemed thoughtful.

He had already gathered some information from the city, and although the sources were somewhat different from the ones Tissaia presented, everything still fit together.

The city still supported the Eternal Fire, especially the gangs.

Executions in the square were still happening, but there were usually some incidents like the one that afternoon, although what had happened there had been far more chaotic.

In any case, the four gangs were still active, all working for the respective leaders Madara had placed or threatened in the past.

"Well, I think we have a lot to talk about. I want to go speak with the others, but there's something more important for me and Ciri. We can't waste any more time with this," Madara said while Ciri immediately squeezed his hand.

"I understand... We visited your son a year ago. He was growing up healthy. According to Nenneke, he's a dazzling little boy and he was quite talkative..." Tissaia said with a smile.

Ciri squeezed Madara's hand even tighter. He could speak... He would certainly be like Ciri if he was talkative... Three years without seeing their boy...

"Well, let's go. It's time to finally see our son. You two, organize things at Zoltan's hideout. We'll arrive there as soon as we finish our business in the south."

"After all... we're rather absent parents," Madara murmured before disappearing with Ciri.

The Hiraishin was connected to some rune near the temple, and so they departed.

It was finally time to see their baby after three years.
