"Is it just me or are you getting slower?" Denny loudly laughed as our feet hit the paved sidewalk at the same time. Our steps perfectly insync as we wore the same matching sneakers we had accidently bought not knowing that the either had done the same.
"Shut up, I had a heavy breakfast," I chuckled but couldn't help but groan. It was a terrible idea to eat that many muffins before a run.
"That's your excuse everyday," he grinned and shook his head.
He was lucky he still had youth on his side whilst my joints needed a good service and oil. Everything was getting tighter week after week and if it wasn't for the constant physio sessions I would barely be able to get out of bed. Mini retirement came with its perks but the pain most definitely wasn't worth it. It felt like my body was finally resting after years of brutal impact and tackles.
