I held a bottle of chamapgne, a box of dried meats and cheese as well as a pot plant; rosemary it seemed more practical. I didn't want to show up to Harper's place empty handed and I wanted to show I brought options to the table. A thoughtful gentleman was how I would have expressed myself.
Harper lived in a very fancy apartment suite in downtown L.A, he had a penthouse on the upper floor which was nice. He was younger than me and had already invested in property. I should have been taking notes from him to be honest. I liked the apartment lobby, dark woods, lots of plants and bronze. It had a manly vibe to it, fancy and expensive.
He had given me the pin to his floor and as I rode up the elevator I prayed my brain would just behave itself. I wasn't even drunk half the time I was with Harper, why couldn't I act sensible?
