There were a thousand and one ways for you to figure out if someone was your soulmate. For some it was just a glance, something they said, maybe they completed each other's sentences. The typical cheesy bullshit Pa and Dad always described. I was a very simple man, a man of primal instinct. I knew Connor was my soulmate the first moment he glanced at my dick one time after practice when we were alone in the locker rooms.
I was dressed, we both fully were. Nothing spicy or sexual about the fact we had a meeting with Coach late and went to grab our bags. He was on the bench tying up his sneakers and I said whatever nonsense I always did. When he looked up, his eyes, for only a split second, glanced in that very direction and I was hard as a rock for a week. I was more emotionally intelligent to know that sex didn't define a relationship, but no one, and I mean no one had ever in such minimum effort looked at me like that and gotten that reaction out of me.
