Zeref is genuinely surprised when Alex's attack can stop Acnologia's Dragon Roar. He has fought Acnologia many times and knew that Acnologia wasn't holding back with that Dragon Roar.
Acnologia himself is also surprised because he remembers that Alex couldn't stop this level of Dragon Roar a few years ago. He recognizes and remembers Alex because of Alex's magic power.
Although Alex's form is different now, his magic power remains the same. Acnologia recognizes it immediately because Alex was the only person other than Zeref who could injure him after a very long time.
Also, Alex's transformations and spells were very unusual. Acnologia is immune to all elements, but Alex's magic could still damage him. He didn't have immunity against Alex's magic even though it's not Dragon Slayer Magic.
That's why Acnologia is surprised that Alex is still alive because he's sure he has killed Alex back then. Furthermore, Alex even gets stronger now and has a new form.
But it just makes Acnologia even more excited because it means he can have a better fight. Also, he wants to consume Alex's magic even though it's not Dragon Slayer Magic. He thinks that if he can consume Alex's magic, he will truly be unrivaled.
Acnologia also wants to consume space and time just like in the series. So now he has 3 things he wants to consume to truly be unrivaled so he can truly conquer the world.
He roars very loudly with excitement before flying towards Alex. Alex also runs in the air toward Acnologia, still with Zeref on his tail. Zeref starts to think of working together with Alex to fight Acnologia now, but he's still unsure.
Alex doesn't really care right now and only focuses on Acnologia. They almost reach each other, so Alex jumps forward and sends a punch using his front right hand. Acnologia also sends a punch and their punches hit each other.
A very strong shockwave is created by the clash of their punches. It doesn't cause effects as big as before, but they still shake the nearby mountains.
None of them is losing the punching contest, so they start throwing more punches and claw attacks. They are having a physical brawl high in the sky while flying around to hit each other from different angles.
Alex uses his 6 arms well. He attacks using the other 4 arms while his 2 arms stop Acnologia's 2 arms. He also uses his tails to stop Acnologia's attacks like tail and knee attacks.
Alex is already used to using 6 arms because of Chomei. He also has 6 arms when he transforms into Chomei, so he is already used to fighting with 6 arms, and he's also trained to fight midair because of Chomei as well.
If he has good weapon skills, he will already transform the Truth Seeking Balls into weapons and hold them with his 6 hands. But he is so bad at using weapons that everyone bans him from even holding weapons.
Well, it doesn't really matter because his hand-to-hand combat skills are insanely good. He always polishes his close combat skills because most of his enemies are expert hand-to-hand combatants.
Acnologia is also one of those experts and might be the best one Alex has ever fought. He actually starts to adapt with Alex's 6-hands 9-tails combat style not long after their battle starts. After living for more than 400 years and fighting numerous enemies, Acnologia has surely accumulated vast experience and skills.
His movements actually become faster while still maintaining his attack power. He needs to face Alex's 6-hands attacks only using 2 hands. So he needs to be faster than Alex and he actually pulls it off, surprising Alex and even Zeref.
"Fine! Let's see how fast you can go." Alex starts throwing his punches even faster as well, making their punches look like flashes of lights because of how fast they are.
It's incredible how they can move that fast with their gigantic sizes and very heavy weights. But they are not only powerful physically, but also magically, so they can always enhance their strength and speed using their magic.
Seeing that Acnologia can match Alex's 6-hands attacks with only 2 hands, Zeref finally decides to join in. He moves to Alex's head and shoots a big and powerful black magic beam. It surprises Acnologia and hits his face.
That attack is not strong enough to injure Acnologia, but it manages to disturb his momentum, giving Alex a chance to land his attacks.
Alex's punches land on Acnologia's body. The strong impacts send Acnologia flies toward a mountain behind him like a bullet, a really big black bullet.
The crash completely destroys the mountain and even creates a big crater. It's as if the mountain is inverted instead. Acnologia is buried by big boulders of the destroyed mountain, but he comes out quickly.
"HAHAHAHAHA! MORE! ENTERTAIN ME MORE!" He actually laughs very excitedly. His laugh is so loud that it can be heard from the surrounding countries.
Acnologia then eats the magic power in the atmosphere. He eats a great amount of magic power very quickly and then he makes a much stronger Dragon Roar than before.
Alex also senses that this attack is even stronger than before. Even Zeref is surprised because he has never seen Acnologia make a Dragon Roar this strong throughout all their meetings in 400 years. So either Acnologia has gotten even stronger or he never needed to use this much power to fight Zeref.
"Tsk!" While clicking his tongue, Alex takes a Truth Seeking Ball from his back. He holds it right in front of his chest and then with 6 hands, he infuses a lot of chakra into it.
Alex creates a Tailed Beast Bomb with a Truth Seeking Ball as its core. This will be stronger than any Tailed Beast Bomb he has ever made, but it's also the most difficult to make. A single mistake in the balance of magic power he uses can cause this to explode and injure himself.
Fortunately, all the Tailed Beasts are assisting Alex to stabilize the magic power. So he manages to create a perfect Truth Seeking Tailed Beast Ball.
Then Acnologia who still stands on the big crater shoots his Dragon Roar to Alex who still floats in the air.
Alex also sends his attacks. He detonates the Truth Seeking Tailed Beast Ball to create a blast, a dark red magic beam that clashes with Acnologia's Dragon Roar when they meet in the middle.
Their attacks hit each other, creating even greater impacts than their first clash. The explosion created by their clash sends powerful shockwaves everywhere, clearing the clouds in a very wide area, destroying the ground in a much wider radius, and causing a stronger earthquake that can be felt all over the continent.
Even Alex and Acnologia are pushed back by the impact caused by their own attacks. It's a lot stronger than they thought.
It even destroys Tartaros's Cube that stands quite a distance away. The surrounding mountains also lose more than half of their whole structures. It's a good thing that this whole area is uninhabited by people, so no one dies.
But the 2nd earthquake finally alerts everyone in the continent, even the normal people. Powerful Mages are already alerted by Acnologia's presence even before the 1st earthquake.
Obviously, that includes the Gods of Ishgar who are now in the Magic Council. They have revealed Tartaros's spy and made him confess. They were just about to judge him and made plans to deal with Tartaros when they suddenly sensed the ominous magic power and presence.
A quick use of the Magic Council's magic radar shows them that the source of that ominous feeling was none other than Acnologia. The magic radar can recognize Acnologia's magic power from the data they got 7 years ago, so it should be accurate.
They quickly sent emergency alarms to all Legal Magic Guilds and called the Wizard Saints. Makarov contacted the team that went to attack Tartaros and found out that Acnologia was coming toward Tartaros's base
The Magic Council quickly made preparations to fight Acnologia before he truly laid waste upon the continent now. They move quickly while watching Acnologia getting closer through the live video call from Fairy Tail's airship.
So of course, they saw Alex's Asura Jinchuriki Mode. None of them know what it was and actually thought it was another enemy, making them panicking even more.
But when they heard from Laxus and co that it was Alex's new transformation, they were stunned. They were still shocked, but they were glad that it wasn't another enemy.
All of them knew that Alex was very powerful, so they hoped he could hold Acnologia until support came. They never thought he could fight Acnologia equally, that's why their jaws dropped when Alex's 1st Tailed Beast Bomb destroyed Acnologia's Dragon Roar.
When the earthquake that was caused by Alex's and Acnologia's clash happened, they got even more bewildered. The Council's HQ is far from Tartaros's base, yet the effect of that clash could reach this place, showing how powerful those spells were.
"Won't we just be burdens if we go there?" Doranbolt a.k.a Mest can't help but say it.
"Even if that's the case, we still have the responsibilities to protect our land. We already left everything to Alex once and that's wrong. So we'll do whatever we can to help." Warrod says it firmly while moving to the Council's airships that have been prepared.
The Magic Council has already moved to help and so are many Magic Guilds. They won't leave everything to Alex and will fight to protect their homeland even if it kills them.
