Chapter 72 - The Game: The Vampire

I wasn't sure how long I'd been stuck in this Void. It had been days or a weeks maybe a month it was most definitely not a year? It had to be at least weeks, right? People don't lose track of time that badly unless it's been weeks.

I gave up trying to figure out what was happening or why a long time ago. There were too many possibilities, none of them making sense. So I just floated there, doing nothing, waiting for something anything to happen.

Finally, after what felt like forever, something did.

A voice echoed around me, sharp and strange.

"Interesting."

I tried to respond, to move, to even twitch, but I couldn't do anything. I just floated there, helpless.

[Congratulations. You've been chosen to become a player in the Games.]

Huh? The fuck?

[You have been selected for Round One of the Games.]

[You will each be sent to random worlds, inserted with random (but slightly customizable) backgrounds, and tasked with survival.]

[You are granted an initial balance of points to spend in the Multi-Store use them wisely.]

[ You have received 100 Multi-Coins.]

[ You have gained access to the Multi-Store.]

[As a gift from the Admin, you will be sent to the world of Underworld (the movie).]

[Multi-Coins can be used to alter your starting background to a limited degree.]

The underworld movie is not a bad start. With that, I decided to open the multi-store, and immediately I was baffled by the items put in there.

But then something that I further noticed was that these items were being sold not by whatever was responsible for kidnapping us but by other players, from another reality at that.

They put up items from the mundane, such as guns, knives, and even swords, for as little as 1 MultiCoin for a gun and 3 for some mundane swords.

But when it came to the magical side, they started upping the prices, as I saw that an enchanted sword cost about 50 Multi-Coins.

'Damn...' I thought with a frown, seeing the prices, as I only had 100 coins and the things actually useful started in the low hundreds.

And while scrolling, I found an item for sale that left me flabbergasted.

[—Item: The Cooking System.

—Type: System Type.

—Description: A system that aids, guides and helps any who wishes to improve in cooking granting the user the needed skill to increase their cooking level.

—Functions: Basic Status, Limited Inventory, Cooking Quests, Planewalks To A Food Dimension.

—Cost: 85000]

"What the fuck??" I muttered under my breath, seeing the item, which was a system, something that would be considered one of the most coveted and wanted things in the entire fictional world by those who knew of its use.

'Well, I'm not getting that anytime soon...' I thought with a frown.

Reviewing the seller's notes, I also found out where he had gained the thing, and apparently he had slain a man on one of his worlds he visited, and apparently said man had been found by the "foundation" (which is the group of people that kidnapped them) to have been a self-insert reincarnator and was given this system.

And after paying a hefty price to extract the system, he is now selling it to make up for the costs.

'...so other reincarnators not in any way connected to the foundation that I now fall under exist great just great.' I sighed in amusement more than anything before I clicked on one of the item's tags, which made it easier to search for specific items.

The tag was 'System Type.'

And finding the items I frowned seeing the small amount of items that fell under that tag, being 63.

I started scrolling the items I had open for me but found none that I could afford besides 4 items.

[Item: The Leveling Spell System.

The best one was The Experience System, but it was the most expensive one and will cost most of his budget. The other ones were shittier in comparison but were much cheaper. The Leveling Spell System is the second best, but the most dangerous one, since I could get my body taken over by a disgusting snake freak. The two cheap ones would help me with a good amount of my coins, but both of them combined don't compare to the two other ones.

In the end I went with The Experience System just because the others are shitty in comparison. Unfortunately, now I only have 20 coins.

Now I decided to use my last 20 coins to buy something useful; unfortunately, the most useful things were around 50 or 100. So now I could only buy less useful stuff.

In the end, I settle for these two things.

[Item: Devouring Man God Technique.

[Item: Minor Awakening Serum.

Type: Serum.

Description: A serum created in the ruins of a fallen world capable of inducing potential awakening, body strengthening, and talent awakening in the form of a supernatural ability unique to the user.

Cost: 10]

'Oh well...on to the world.' I thought with a sigh, clicking off the multi-store.

Then I suddenly found myself within a white room with nothing inside before again a screen appeared before me.

[Character Background

—Name: Cain Mercer

—Identity: Rogue Ex-Death Dealer

—Age: 1497

—Mission: Survive and disrupt the plans of Viktor by any means necessary.]

Before I can think anything, my mind immediately goes blank as a light covers me.

-later-

As I open my eyes seeing I looked around a fucked up living room as I got up from the messed up couch I felt a sharp, throbbing ache pulsed behind my eyes as foreign memories flooded in, merging with my own.

As I felt the memories of almost a 1500 years into my brain I finally sigh as my brain stopped feeling like it was going to be turned into mush.

I am one of the original Death Dealer serving under Victor as a human before I was turned by him, including the rest of my comrades.

I thought under him for centuries, surviving, even until the Lycans era seen the birth of the first Lycans and suggesting to Victor to kill the baby before it could become a real threat being ignored, of course.

And of course, like anyone could've predicted the beast rebelled and actually manage to destroy their homes only leaving the other two elders Victor and his fellow vampire Andreas Tanis and him, but he was left for dead being the only survivor of the massacre.

After he gained a new hatred for the Lycans and Victor for being stupid enough to let it happen.

He had been surviving for centuries surviving on the blood of humans surviving through the era.

Until he finally made it to the New World where he settled.

[The Experience System has been successfully integrated.]

A translucent blue screen flickered into existence before me, displaying lines of text.

Name: Cain Mercer

Race: Vampire

—[Stats]—

Body: 57

Mind: 34

Soul: 43

—[Skills]—

[Swordsmanship proficiency - level 72/100]

[Physical Combat proficiency - level 54/100]

[Gunslinging proficiency - level 38/100]

—[Exp: 0]—

Looking at my system, I wonder why my vampire abilities were not on my skill list including the devour man god technique.

But that was something he would have to wonder later, but still I could feel I still had access to those abilities, so I didn't worry that much that only meant that I couldn't upgrade them with the system.

With that, i pulled out from his inventory, give to him by the foundation a small bottle with a certain liquid inside of it.

This was Minor Awakening Serum.

I considered using it or not until I ripped the top cap off and drown the liquid down my throat.

XxX
