Chapter 105 - CV: the port III

Seeing the scene unfold below, Raiden knew he had no choice. He couldn't just stand there and watch.

He was a hero in training—someone who had to protect lives, even the lives of those involved in crime.

Right now, someone was about to have their skull crushed, and even if that man was part of a criminal network, Raiden couldn't let him die.

Stepping in was not just the right thing to do—it was his responsibility.

Without hesitation, Raiden leapt from the top of the shipping container.

As he fell, his body shimmered and shifted—his form changing in midair.

In the blink of an eye, he had transformed into Mewtwo, his combat form.

With precision and speed, he landed directly above Goto, one hand reaching down and pressing firmly against the guard's head.

In that same instant, he unleashed a powerful burst of Confusion—a psychic wave directed straight into Goto's mind at point-blank range.

The sudden appearance of Mewtwo caught everyone off guard.

Not a single person in the warehouse had seen it coming—not even Goto.

One moment, he was lifting the worker like a toy, and the next, he was slammed to the ground by an invisible force.

He hadn't even had time to register the hero from earlier that afternoon before the impact knocked the breath out of him.

For a few stunned seconds, the entire warehouse froze. No one moved. No one spoke.

The fearsome guard, the one they all whispered about, was lying on the ground. The surprise on their faces was clear—no one had expected a hero to appear so suddenly, much less to strike Goto with such force.

As Goto hit the floor, Mewtwo didn't waste a second. Using his telekinesis, he sent several of the nearby workers tumbling backward, clearing the area around them.

He knew this fight wasn't over. Someone like Goto wouldn't be finished with one hit.

The man hadn't revealed the full extent of his strength yet—that much was obvious.

Mewtwo had already signaled Kaina earlier, so reinforcements were on their way. Besides, she was supervising his movements remotely. Even if he hadn't sent the signal, he trusted that she knew exactly where he was.

Just as he predicted, Goto sprang back to his feet with alarming speed.

With a grunt of fury, he launched a powerful kick straight toward Mewtwo's midsection. His body bulked up in an instant—layers of muscle fibers surged under and over his skin, enhancing his strength and speed several times over.

But Mewtwo didn't take the hit. Hovering just inches off the ground, he shifted sideways, easily avoiding the attack. Goto's momentum carried him forward, and his reinforced leg smashed into the concrete floor, shattering it and leaving a crater where he landed.

That was enough to trigger chaos.

The warehouse erupted in panic as the workers realized what was coming—a full-blown clash between a hero and Goto. Scrambling over each other, they bolted for the exits. None of them wanted to be caught in the crossfire.

Suddenly, the manager, realizing they had been caught red-handed, shouted toward the guard.

"Muscular! Take him down! We're moving everything before the heroes show up!"

That name—Muscular—snapped Mewtwo's attention into focus. He had heard it before.

Goto was better known in the underground as Muscular, a villain who had vanished years ago after brutally killing two pro heroes during a robbery a while ago. After that, no one had been able to track him down. He disappeared without a trace—until now.

To think he had been hiding here all this time, working like nothing had happened... It was shocking.

But for Mewtwo, it was also a stroke of luck. With Muscular's involvement confirmed, this entire operation could now be shut down with the full force of the law. They had all the evidence they needed, even more.

As Mewtwo quickly assessed the situation, the manager didn't waste a second. He activated his Quirk, a faint glow appearing beneath his feet.

Flames erupted in controlled bursts, and in a flash, he shot upward toward the ceiling, using his power to take flight.

At the same time, the workers sprang into action. They stopped inspecting the wooden crates and began loading them frantically onto nearby trucks. The engines roared to life as they scrambled to flee the warehouse before backup could arrive.

But Mewtwo wasn't about to let that happen.

He pulled back from Muscular, gaining some distance, and reached out with his telekinesis. Multiple objects lifted at once—he couldn't move the entire trucks, they were far too heavy—but he didn't need to. All he had to do was redirect the wheels.

With a powerful mental push, he twisted the front wheels of each truck, sending them careening into one another. They slammed against the warehouse entryway, crashing in a tangled mess of metal and blocking every possible exit. The path was sealed.

At that exact moment, Mewtwo also extended his power to the airborne manager. Locking onto his leg, he yanked him down with a violent burst of telekinetic force. The man plummeted from the air and hit the ground hard, his escape cut short.

Muscular watched it all unfold—and instead of panicking, he burst into laughter. His voice echoed through the warehouse like a low, crazed growl.

"Hahahahaha! You think you're gonna ruin this, you little bastard? You're not even a real hero yet!"

His grin widened as he crouched low, power surging through his body. With a powerful flex of his legs, he launched himself toward Mewtwo.

At the same time, his right arm expanded grotesquely—layer after layer of muscle tissue growing and writhing, twisting around itself as his strength increased exponentially.

Mewtwo responded with calm precision. He raised his hands as Muscular charged toward him, and two dark orbs of energy materialized above his open palms. Without delay, he hurled them directly at the incoming brute.

The orbs struck Muscular squarely in the chest and exploded on impact.

A deep shockwave rippled through the air as the force tore through layers of reinforced muscle.

The villain's body was thrown backward, crashing violently into the ground. Blood spilled from the points of contact, and his grotesquely overdeveloped frame writhed in pain. Shadow Ball had landed cleanly—and it worked.

Muscular coughed and laughed through the pain, his voice guttural.

"You're strong, kid. I'll give you that... but not enough! Hahaha!"

As he roared, his body began to shift again.

His muscles pulsed and bulged unnaturally, growing larger with each second. Tendons twisted and thickened. Layers of muscle expanded over his arms, chest, even his face. He looked less like a man and more like a creature of flesh and deformed.

Mewtwo, unfazed, simply sent a calm telepathic message that echoed through the minds of those nearby:

"We'll see if it's not enough."

His body shimmered faintly as he activated Calm Mind.

Gathering energy once again, he raised his arm and swept it forward in a fluid arc. The power obeyed. A glowing wave of psychic force surged out from his palm—razor-sharp and fast.

psycho-cut

Muscular braced himself, crossing his bulging arms in front of his body.

But the psychic slash hit with brutal precision. It tore through his guard, staggering him backward.

His feet dragged across the floor, scraping against the concrete. A deep gash split across his arms and chest, cutting through the muscle like a knife through soft fruit. Blood sprayed across the ground as he roared in pain.

But Mewtwo didn't pause. He didn't pause. Injured or not, this opponent was still dangerous.

With a burst of energy, he activated Agility. His form shimmered again—and in a blink, he was gone from view.

In the next instant, he was behind Muscular.

His fist crackled with yellow electricity.

With perfect aim and all his strength, he drove the electrified punch into Muscular's back.

Thunder Punch connected with a thunderous boom.

The impact hurled the villain forward like a ragdoll. He skidded across the floor, muscles twitching violently as electricity surged through his body.

His limbs flailed out of control, his monstrous form no longer responding properly to his own movements.

Mewtwo kept the pressure on. Taking advantage of Muscular being flung across the room, he quickly clasped his hands together and gathered more energy.

With some strain, sparks of electricity began crackling around his palms. Bolts of lightning danced between his fingers until he finally thrust his hands forward, aiming directly at his opponent.

A Thunderbolt shot forth.

The lightning struck Muscular square in the back, the force of it sending him crashing into a nearby wall. His body convulsed under the voltage, muscles spasming violently as the energy coursed through him. Smoke curled off his back, and the scent of scorched flesh filled the air. When the light faded, he collapsed to the ground, twitching, barely conscious.

Patches of muscle fiber had turned black, burned beyond recognition, while other areas bled openly from the damage.

Mewtwo hovered silently, calculating the extent of the injury. He knew Muscular would survive. Someone with a Quirk that enhanced the body to that extreme wouldn't fall so easily. Killing him outright with raw force alone would be difficult, maybe a hyper beam but not just a thunderbolt.

And he was right.

Even in his battered state, Muscular glared at him with eyes full of hatred and defiance. He refused to submit. Trembling, he forced himself to raise his head.

"Fuck… fuuuck," he growled through gritted teeth. "So they really sent a strong one this time. This was for me, wasn't it? I was the target."

His voice was ragged, breath uneven.

"You don't even care about the rest… it's all about me. The heroes finally found me, huh? But you're out of your mind if you think I'm gonna surrender to a monster like you."

He planted one shaky hand on the ground, trying to rise.

Muscular glanced down at his body and grimaced. The wounds were worse than he expected—some had torn straight through the muscular layers his Quirk created and reached his actual body beneath. With effort, he activated his Quirk again, manipulating the muscle fibers to apply pressure and stop the bleeding. It was a crude method, but it bought him time.

"Damn it," he muttered. "I can't even land a hit on this kid…"

Up until now, it hadn't even been a real fight. Mewtwo had outclassed him in every way—speed, technique, power.

The only thing Muscular had over him was raw strength. Or so he thought. But what good was strength if you couldn't connect a single blow?

That thought stung more than the wounds.

Every attack had been dodged with ease, like Mewtwo was humoring him—like he was toying with a child. And Muscular couldn't take that.

He was supposed to be one of the strongest, feared for his brute power. At least, that's what he always believed.

"I need to do something…"

He scanned the room. Everyone was still trapped—just by this kid. He was the strongest guard here, and if he couldn't stop Mewtwo, no one else would. The other guards hadn't even shown up yet. Something must have happened outside.

That meant he was on his own.

And that meant he had to win—somehow.

Maybe it was instinct. Maybe it was desperation. But in a sudden shift, he changed tactics.

Drawing on the last of his strength, Muscular activated his Quirk again—but differently this time.

Instead of allowing the muscles to expand uncontrollably, he compressed them. He twisted the fibers inward, interlocking them into his body, reinforcing himself rather than just growing larger. The grotesque, monstrous form he had taken before began to shrink. Not by much—but enough.

His appearance changed. He no longer looked like a misshapen creature, but rather like an enormous, almost inhumanly built bodybuilder. Still massive, but more in control.

He let out a sudden laugh.

Then, without warning, his quadriceps flexed like coiled springs—and he launched forward, the floor cracking beneath him.

In a blur of destruction, he appeared beside Mewtwo, aiming a devastating punch straight at his face. There was no holding back in that strike—it was meant to obliterate him.

And yet…

Mewtwo's expression didn't change.

Mewtwo just looked calmly at Muscular.
