When Akira removed his mask, his striking features were finally revealed to Mirajane. As the brother of Erza Scarlet and son of Irene Belserion, Akira had clearly inherited the family's elite genes. In fact, Akira could be said to be the most handsome in their entire family. After all, this is the person who charmed almost all the ladies in the marketplace when he was just five years old.
But what caught their attention was not Akira's handsome face but the draconic scales covering nearly half of his face. To make things even more dramatic, Akira even activated his dragon bloodline, transforming his eyes into slit, reptilian dragon eyes.
He also thought about dragonizing his body, but, thinking it would be too much, he decided against it. Too many special effects would have the opposite effect than intended.
"Compared to you, my situation is way worse than yours. At the very least, your situation can be cured with enough control over your own magic. But I was born like this," Akira said with a sad smile.
Akira wasn't entirely acting. It would be a lie to say he didn't resent his fate. Who would enjoy wearing a mask every time they stepped outside? Worse, he could feel the dragonification progressing. He guessed that in just a few years, he would have to find a place to hide before he fully dragonized. At the very least, he needs to learn some transformation magic just in case.
While Akira was in his own melancholic world, he didn't notice the complex looks that flashed in Mirajane's eyes. They saw that only those who had gone through the same experiences could understand each other. And Mirajane, as someone who had recently gone through the same trial, knew exactly how much of an impact it is for someone to have monster characteristics.
And seeing Akira now, a sense of camaraderie began to form in Mirajane's heart. Her gaze also softened.
In a rare moment of vulnerability, she stepped forward and pulled Akira into a gentle hug. "It must have been so hard for you," she whispered.
Hearing this, Akira's body froze. His eyes widened in shock. Even he never expected Mirajane to do this.
You know the current Mirajane is not the innocent and kind Mirajane at the start of the storyline. The current Mirajane is now the true Demon Mirajane, who could go toe-to-toe with Erza for the throne of the strongest female wizard in Fairy Tail.
"Ahha ha ha, thank you for the comfort. "Akira said with a bit of embarrassment as he broke the hug. Just now, he felt his heart flutter as he saw the shadow of the future Mirajane, who would become the goddess worshipped by many otaku.
Mirajane also felt a bit shy. After all, she just acted on her impulse and didn't think much at that time. But now that she is conscious, she feels very embarrassed. Especially feeling the gossipy look from her little sister.
"So, what do you say, Mirajane? Will you join Fairy Tail?" Akira asked, trying to steer the conversation back on track.
Mirajane also didn't think much as she nodded. No kidding, being a mage is something very few people desire. And this is especially for Mirajane, who wanted to find money to support her two siblings.
"Wonderful. Then consider this my welcoming gift for you. With this, you would be able to master your power in no time. "Akira said as he touched Mirajane's forehead.
Then, in the next moment, Mirajane felt a stream of information pour into her brain. After some time, Mirajane, who had finished digesting the sudden information, looked at Akira in shock.
Good heavens, today the number of things that surprised me was far too many. For a moment, she even felt she was just dreaming.
Seeing Mirajane like this, Akira knew that he should stop surprising Mirajane anymore. Any more, and she might break.
"Okay, everyone, pack your bags; let's get the hell out of this dark place and go back to our home. "Akira clapped and gave the eager Lissana and Elfman the signal. These two were very excited and were only suppressing their excitement due to their sister not giving them any commands.
But with Akira giving them the lead, their excitement could no longer be hidden. Both of them immediately went to pack up their bags. Well, since they only moved to the church recently, there really wasn't much packing. So in no time they packed all their belongings and looked at Akira with hopeful eyes.
"Alright, let's go," Akira smiled as he held the two kids' hands. At first, he wanted to hold Mira's hand, but the tsundere trait had already come back and wouldn't allow her.
"Hey, wait, are you really thinking of walking out of the village like this? Do you want us to be beaten by the villagers? " After they left the church, Mirajane suddenly stopped them, asking as she looked at Akira.
"Huh, of course, what else were you thinking? You aren't thinking of leaving the village at night, right? Let me tell you, traveling at night is very dangerous, especially with this village's spooky atmosphere. Don't believe those fairy tales where couples managed to run far away under the cover of night," Akira spoke as he began to lecture the three siblings about some real knowledge.
Mirajane clenched her fists as she tried to rein in her anger and not punch this guy for spouting such nonsense at a time like this.
Seeing Mirajane was about to lose her patience, Akira quickly stopped messing around.
"Okay, okay, I was just kidding. You guys don't need to worry about the villagers' reactions. I have already covered that for us. "Akira said with a mysterious expression.
And without explaining much, Akira walked forward. Although Mirajane was hesitant, she ultimately decided to trust Akira. And besides, she now has a way to protect herself and her siblings.
Mirajane thought as she looked at her right arm. Now that she knows about her magic, she can feel the boundless magical power inside her body. With his power, she now has the confidence to beat everyone in this village except Akira.
So if it comes to it, they can always carve out an escape path and make a run for it.
But to their shock, nothing happened. The villagers, who were usually like some guard dogs, didn't even look in their direction. No, in fact, they didn't even notice their presence, despite them walking in front of the villagers.
"I have already covered us with an illusion barrier. With this barrier, no one could detect our presence even if we walked in front of them. "Akira, explain proudly. He always likes to see the looks of envy and awe from his audience when they hear about his magic.
Just as Akira was expecting praise, he was unexpectedly met with a sarcastic remark.
"So does that mean you can peep into the girls' baths openly? "Mirajane asked as she looked at Akira with a gaze filled with suspicion. Even Lissana looked at him with suspicion.
Akira had black lines on his face as he looked at Mirajane with helplessness. Why did this girl always try to pick a fight with him? Although what Mirajane said is very possible, is he really someone who would peep into a girl's bathhouse?
He is not bragging, but he has enough confidence to walk into a women's bathhouse openly. He just needs to use a bit of transformation magic, and he could blend into the crowd as Erza.
Even without it, with his face alone, he could already imagine how girls would even drag him inside just to have a piece of him.
"Let's just get out of this village," Akira said, his voice dropping with a hint of mischief as he channeled his wind magic to violently snatch everyone from the cobblestones.
He purposefully didn't give Mirajane and Lisanna time to secure their skirts or steady themselves, as they were forced to cling to his arms in a wide-eyed, breathless panic. As for Elfman, the poor kid didn't even stand a chance against the sudden height; his eyes rolled back, and he went limp.
"Hahhaha, next stop Fairy Tail, " Akira shouted as he dragged the three people and luggage and headed straight towards Magnolia at full speed.
"Ahhhhhhhhhh."
