Chapter 62 - 62. Ogre Blood

Armaros awakened with a groan as he groggily opened his eyes and yawned as he sat up on the bed and looked around and found that Fanah is still sleeping, which caused him to smirk slightly at the sight of the normally hard looking woman sleeping so peacefully. Though it was an amusing sight for him to see for sure.

He looked at his sword and thought about cleaning it, after all, he also did need to go out and buy new equipment for himself and Fanah, as the ones they had used were damaged from the battle with the Ogre. But that was when he took a closer look at the sword and blinked as he realised that it was now different from before.

The sword seemed to have grown sharper than normal, the blade bright red like blood, and as he ran his fingers over it, he can feel that it has definitely changed. The blade has become even sturdier and as he used his mana to check it over, his eyes widened as he saw that the Ogre blood had seemingly merged with his sword and seemed to have made it stronger.

'Did the blood of the Ogre strengthen my sword overnight? I mean, it is a strong species but I didn't think it would be able to do something like this.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at his changed blade.

"Maybe the traces of mana left in the blood of the Ogre caused this. Well, as long as it helps, I don't think there are any swords like this for sale." Armaros said to himself before he realised that some of his armor had also been covered in the Ogre's blood.

He looked at his armor and then took it off and checked it over and found that his breastplate is in the same state as his sword. His right pauldron and vambrace were also red with the blood of the Ogre and he could sense with the Mana that it was of the same like the sword.

'Didn't know blood could actually repair things, then again this is a world very different from my first one, so I shouldn't have ruled this out. Anyway, I guess this is a good thing.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at the equipment.

He then looked at Fanah and noticed that her sword and some parts of her armor had also undergone the same changes as his own.

'Wonder if putting the blood of a stronger monster will also have a similar effect?' Armaros thought to himself as the idea had merit in his eyes.

Of course, there aren't a lot of enemies stronger than an Ogre, at least not in abundance so the theory will have to be nipped in the bud, as he has no wish to fight against strong opponents after surviving against the Ogre. For now he wanted to get more familiar with his new spear and get more skilled and powerful, he wanted to be prepared in case he would find himself at odds with a powerful enemy. Considering his track record, he didn't want to take any chances with it.

"Well, I still need to get more armor for myself to cover the rest." Armaros said to himself as he stripped the armor off and went to take a bath.

After he had finished the bath he walked out, refreshed and thankful for the fact that the inns here have baths so it's easier. Mostly thanks to the presence of the guild, as places with the guild usually flourish and are more modern than most places. He found his slave was also awake as she had stripped herself off her armor as she looked at him.

"You can take a bath." Armaros said as he walked with his clothes on.

"What do you plan on doing Master? Especially due to our weapons?" Fanah asked curtly as she looked at their equipment which had changed.

"You noticed as well huh." Armaros said as he looked at their changed weapons.

"I mean, I had heard that this happens but this is the first time I am witnessing it." Fanah said as she looked at their equipment.

"You think the equipment would be better than most we can get from the market?" Armaros asked her curiously.

"Inevitably. Ogres are a powerful species and these weapons changed by its blood are much better than those that are normally smithed by blacksmiths." Fanah said to him with a nod.

"Well, we do need to get more armor anyways. Preferably of the colour red." Armaros said as he looked at their weapons.

"Right. I'll take a bath." Fanah said as she grabbed a towel and went to the bathroom.

Armaros went to the table and looked at the newly transformed equipment, his sword, breastplate, right arm pauldron and vambrace, which have turned red and a bit spiky due to the blood of the Ogre. Fanah's sword had also changed, with the other staying the same due to not having bathed in blood of the monster. Her right pauldron and vambrace were also enhanced alongside her breastplate, much the same with his own, though in her case, her right thigh armor had also changed as well.

He took the equipment and checked them out and nodded to himself as he found them to be in much better condition and in a stronger form than what they had been before, making him more intrigued regarding the blood of monsters and the effect they can have on weapons and equipment.

Fanah appeared from the bath and saw her master analysing her equipment as she went and put on her clothes, no caring much about decency as he had already seen her naked before, not that he looked at her anyway since he was more focused on the equipment and it's analysis than the naked woman in his grasp.

'I am surprised that he hadn't put his hands on me. I might not be desirable due to being crippled and having scars on my body, but I am still a woman with a good body, so I know that men would want to use me for their pleasure. Is he just not interested?' Fanah thought to herself as she dressed herself with some difficulty.

"We can't leave the equipment alone, that's for sure." Armaros said to her as he kept his eyes on the equipment.

"That's true. But what are we supposed to do then? Wr can't just take only the transformed armor." Fanah said to him as she looked at them.

"I was thinking of selling our used armor to blacksmiths to use as materials for creating other things, the metals are still usable for them. And as for the transformed swords and armor, we can hide the swords in their sheaths, and we can say that the armor is just some equipment that we had in reserve." Armaros said after thinking for a moment.

"That's not a bad idea. Yes, that would work." Fanah said with a nod as it was a good plan.

Her master hummed as she looked at her clothes and smoothed it out and made sure that she is presentable in front of others. Then watched as he put their ruined armor in a sack and then put on the enhanced armor as he looked at her and gestured to her own.

Fanah nodded as she went and put on her armor, with help from her master of course, as it is difficult for her to do so with just one arm, though it did feel a bit weird to wearing just some pieces of armor on herself but she ignored the feeling as he hefted the sack and then left the room.

"First to the blacksmith and then food." Armaros said as they walked.

They left the inn and went to the blacksmith in the town and showed him their ruined armor and Fanah's normal sword as the man looked at them and inspected it.

"Okay, yeah, considering their state, I can take these for 2000 Quartz." The blacksmith said as Armaros nodded.

"That's fine by us." Armaros said as he was okay with that price.

The transaction was done and then the two of them purchased new armor for themselves, this time buying more sturdier ones for prolonged used, and thought it cost a bit, they didn't mind it as they purchase was good. They walked out for the store after putting on the armor, though the red colour of

"I would say that 5000 Quartz is pretty good for the equipment we bought." Armaros said as they left the shop with the armor.

"I suppose. They are not to the same level of the ones I had whole I was a knight, but they are decent." Fanah said to him as she checked her new armor and new sword.

"Say, can you buy a good noblewoman's dress with 5000 Quartz?" Armaros asked curiously as he didn't know about it.

Fanah snorted at the question as she looked at him with amusement.

"You would at least need to spend 10000 Quartz to get a dress that would be deemed okay, much more for decent and more beautiful clothes." Fanah said to him as he sighed at that.

"And yet they don't have any problems in having a lot of them." Armaros said with a sigh as he remembered that his sisters had a decent amount of them.

"It's a show of their wealth and status so nobles spend a lot of their money on things like that. I believe that it has use elsewhere but they are more interested in flaunting their wealth than anything." Fanah said to him with a sigh as she remembered how much money they waste on pleasures and showing off.

"Then again, if they weren't pompous they wouldn't be called nobles, would they?" Armaros said as she nodded at his words.

The two then went to a restaurant to get some food as they bought a more pricey as they wanted to eat good food after such a fight. They finished the food and left the restaurant and left the town to spend some time relaxing.

"I thought you would want to do more quests?" Fanah asked her master as she walked with him.

"We fought and killed an Ogre, so a rest is warranted." Armaros said to her as he stretched his arms.

"Well, I guess that makes sense. You're quite considerate to a slave like me." Fanah said to him in surprise.

"You did a good job so I am giving you the rest that you need, think nothing of it." Armaros said to her with a shrug.

But then his eyes widened as he felt a surge of magic which was also felt by Fanah, though to a lesser extent as they looked at the same direction in surprise.

'Oh you gotta be shitting me right now.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at the direction.

He didn't know what it was but he didn't want to deal with it, especially considering his track record with danger in this new world.

"We're going the opposite way." Armaros said to her seriously which surprised her.

"Shouldn't we at least take a look?" Fanah asked him in surprise.

"I am not dealing with mysterious people after fighting an Ogre yesterday, I want to rest and that means going away from them." Armaros said with a shake of his head.

"As you wish." Fanah said curtly as she followed after her master.

The two of them making their way away from the town and the presence of the new arrivals, with Armaros praying in his mind that he wouldn't have to deal with any troubles for a while. Unknown of the fact that he was being watched by another.

"Found youu~." A woman said with a wide smile on her face as she looked at Armaros.
