"He really is the sort who treasures his own life... Though he's rather snobbish, he's not the kind of person who could draw his wand and take someone else's life," Snape explained.
"Mhm... I've heard quite a few stories about him as well. From colleagues in the Alchemy Association, of course."
As he spoke, Kasenhis sat back on the sofa and stretched his back vigorously.
"...When are you leaving?" Snape asked, glancing at the clock hanging on the wall.
Kasenhis nearly threw out his back in the middle of stretching.
"Wait... you're chasing me out already? Or is Voldemort coming over later or something?"
Snape shook his head.
"If you're planning to stay for dinner, then I need to go buy ingredients."
"Oh... I see. In that case, let's go. If you're willing to treat me, I have to show my appreciation!"
Kasenhis' eyes instantly lit up. Not everyone had the opportunity to sample Snape's hospitality.
"Will you wait here or come with me?" Snape asked as he walked over to the coat rack by the door.
"Together, together," Kasenhis quickly stood up and followed.
"We're going to a massive supermarket ten kilometres away. We'll Apparate there directly."
After putting on his coat, Snape reached out and patted Kasenhis on the shoulder. The next moment, the two appeared in a fairly lively alleyway.
The instant he arrived, Kasenhis waved his wand and cast a wide-area Memory Charm, deleting the last minute of memories from the handful of beggars in the alley.
"Let's go."
After finishing, Snape simply walked ahead.
"Oh."
Kasenhis hurried after him.
Before long, the two entered the supermarket. Somewhere along the way, Snape subtly Transfigured his clothes a little. Though they were still wizard's robes, they became much more practical and suited to everyday life.
"What do you want to eat?" he asked tersely after finding a trolley.
"Meat," Kasenhis answered.
"I knew you'd say that."
Snape nodded silently and headed straight for the fresh produce section.
The pair wandered around the supermarket for over half an hour before finally arriving at the checkout with a trolley packed full of meat.
"That's so much stuff. How many bags is he going to need?" Kasenhis couldn't help remarking as the cashier continuously scanned barcodes.
"It's alright. We have super-sized bags," the cashier replied without looking up.
Soon enough, the two of them walked leisurely out of the supermarket, each carrying two enormous bags.
"Can the two of us really finish four giant bags of meat?"
"It's alright. I have a super-sized stomach," Kasenhis declared confidently.
Five hours later...
In a secluded courtyard owned by Snape, Kasenhis placed the final piece of meat onto the magma block in front of them, sprinkled some seasoning over it, and flipped it over.
After a series of sizzling sounds came yet another indescribable noise of swallowing.
Crunch crunch crunch crunch...Burp...
Empty bottles were scattered densely around the two of them. Snape had surrendered long ago. By the fifth piece of meat, he simply couldn't eat another bite.
The rest, it could be said with complete certainty, had all been consumed by Kasenhis.
"I admit it. You really do have a super-sized stomach." Watching Kasenhis single-handedly demolish four giant bags of meat had left Snape's pupils trembling in disbelief.
"It's not that impressive." Kasenhis casually belched, then reached out and tapped the magma block in front of him, shattering it into pieces that quickly vanished.
"Just pick any room on the second floor and sleep there," Snape said as he slowly stood up and headed toward the nearby two-storey house.
"Mhm... coming."
Kasenhis swayed to his feet and staggered after him.
...
The next day...
Kasenhis woke up groggily and, upon opening the door, saw a line of golden text floating in the air before him.
The message roughly explained that Snape had already returned to Spinner's End. As for the courtyard, the key and the core controlling the protective wards were on the table downstairs. Kasenhis was free to continue staying here, and if he decided to leave, all he had to do was put them back.
"Ah... I don't think I'll stay."
Muttering to himself, Kasenhis left the courtyard and Ender Teleported back to the Black residence.
"Children, I was gone for one whole night. Did you miss me?"
Appearing in the sitting room of the Black residence, he shouted loudly.
".....Nobody cares," Ron replied while playing Wizard's Chess with Neville.
Kasenhis awkwardly rubbed his nose and walked toward the long table, hoping to find some leftovers from breakfast.
Then he remembered.
This wasn't the old days when Sirius lived here alone. Under normal circumstances, leftovers weren't left sitting on the table.
He had to go to the kitchen.
There, he found a dozen fried eggs and some bacon, which he washed down with milk, gulping everything down cleanly.
"That's better."
Kasenhis sank into the sofa with satisfaction.
"So you're back. What did Severus say?" Dumbledore walked over and sat beside him.
"He agreed. And he was in such a good mood over the new position that he even treated me to dinner."
Kasenhis spoke cheerfully, looking like Patrick Star approaching his thirtieth birthday.
"That's wonderful... Now that all the work has been taken care of, I can finally relax a little."
Dumbledore let out a contented sigh.
Kasenhis raised an eyebrow and glanced at him.
Over the course of a single week, Dumbledore had searched for Horcruxes, added a security guard to Hogwarts, rearranged two teaching positions, and stayed up all night searching for Slughorn...
Hmm...
He really had done quite a bit of work.
Better not discourage him.
Today's Kasenhis was a gentle little angel too...
