Meanwhile, back at Black's old house...
"What did Kasenhis say just now? Was he planning to set up a computer here so he could play games with me?" Sirius suddenly jumped up and said.
"Play games with you? What game?" Lupin asked in confusion.
"Iron-Blooded Crusaders," Sirius said faintly.
"You actually have electricity here?" Hermione asked in surprise.
Sirius scratched his head.
"Why wouldn't I? Have you seen the Black house using candles for lighting lately?"
"You really don't act like a pure-blood," Hermione remarked.
"Of course not. If every pure-blood was as deranged as the ones around Voldemort, pure-bloods would've gone extinct ages ago," Sirius said with a shrug.
"But what does Professor Kasenhis need a computer for? Wait, Sirius, are you telling me there might have been a computer in your room this whole time and none of us knew?" Harry asked in shock.
"The computer's still being ordered. It hasn't arrived yet. But we've always had electricity," Sirius explained.
"You actually ordered one!" Hermione exclaimed, equally shocked.
"So... what's a computer?" Ron asked curiously.
[Dangerous prank. Do not imitate!]
Hermione beckoned him over, casually Transfigured a soft piece of copper wire, and twisted it into the shape of a plug.
"Stick this into the socket yourself and you'll understand."
[Dangerous prank. Do not imitate!]
Ron naturally took it, then happily went off to look for the "socket" Hermione had mentioned.
Ah!
For Ron, an already limited holiday lost another two days.
Those two days were wasted in St Mungo's.
"Are you stupid? I told you to stick it in and you actually did it! Look what happened. You got hurt, didn't you?" Hermione teased as she looked at Ron, who had finally recovered and been discharged.
"How was I supposed to know it was a prank? George and Fred really ought to learn from you," Ron said lifelessly from the sofa.
"By the way, Professor Kasenhis still hasn't finished his closed-door training?" Ron asked again.
"Still no. Maybe he electrocuted himself while using the computer and got transported to another world," Sirius said, talking nonsense.
"Who's talking trash about me now!"
Kasenhis suddenly crawled out of the Tinkers' Construct smeltery behind Sirius.
The moment Sirius heard his voice, he whipped around and stared at Kasenhis climbing out of the smeltery.
??????????
"What the hell are you doing? Why are you inside the smeltery?" Sirius asked, then paused as another thought struck him.
"How long have you been in there?!"
Kasenhis calculated on his fingers.
"About two days. I built a thermal generator, and there happened to be heat in there, so I spent two days in closed-door training inside while studying."
"...Black house has electricity," Sirius said faintly.
Kasenhis froze halfway through putting his hands on his hips.
"...Huh?"
"Not only do we have electricity, I set up an entire gaming room last night."
"...Huh??"
"And we've got Wi-Fi here too. Have I seriously never told you?"
"...Huh???"
"When the hell did you ever tell me?"
Kasenhis stared at Sirius with his face completely drained of colour.
"That Dungeons & Dragons game we played before? The table had lighting effects, and the dragon model made sounds. All of that ran on electricity! What did you think it was? Magic?"
Sirius thought about it for a moment and chose his words carefully.
But when he saw Kasenhis's expression, he realised that Kasenhis might genuinely have thought the Dungeons & Dragons setup was magical.
In the end, he completely lost it and burst out laughing.
"Hahahahahahahaha! Hahahahaha! Ahahahahahahaha..."
The piercing laughter kept assaulting Kasenhis's eardrums.
Professor Kasenhis slowly and carefully placed the computer and the clown generator in his arms off to the side.
Then he reached out and gently stroked Sirius's cheek.
Bang!
"Tell everyone I'm going back into closed-door training."
With that, Kasenhis climbed back into the smeltery.
"But why does he like doing closed-door training inside a smeltery?" Lupin asked in confusion.
"Maybe because it's warm," Kasenhis's voice drifted eerily out of the smeltery.
"Do you want us to prepare food for you?" Lupin asked again.
Crunch, crunch, crunch, burp...
"No need. If I get hungry, I'll eat pixel steak."
Kasenhis's voice drifted out once more.
"Oh... do you want us to run a power cable in there for you?"
"...No. Just toss me that clown generator."
Lupin frowned.
"Clown generator?"
Sirius, who had somehow returned to full health at some point, stood back up with a grin.
He picked up the Stirling generator Kasenhis had left on the table and tossed it into the smeltery in a perfect arc.
Thud!
"Ow!"
Hearing that, Sirius shrank his neck and retreated back into his room.
Better to avoid the danger for now.
Otherwise, Kasenhis might climb out of the chimney like Santa Claus later and beat him senseless again.
...
That evening, Kasenhis's computer sat obediently on the coffee table charging.
As for the clown generator, he had simply given it to Cedric.
Cedric loved collecting things like that.
Kasenhis, meanwhile, was cosplaying as a glutton at the dining table.
For the past two days, he had been constantly eating pixel food.
The taste had actually been very good, and he had changed things up every meal.
But that grainy pixel texture made his mouth itch every time he bit down.
It felt like half a Sichuan peppercorn was stuck against the roof of his mouth.
"By the way, Kasenhis, where have you been these past few days?"
Everyone at the table was quite curious about Kasenhis's disappearance.
"I found somewhere empty and went into closed-door training to study," Kasenhis said gloomily.
Sirius awkwardly lowered his head and started eating with loud crunching sounds.
He didn't dare stick his head up.
He was afraid of getting one-shot.
"What about that giant alchemical machine you were going to use to search for Voldemort's Horcruxes?" Dumbledore asked with great interest.
"I've got an idea now. After two days of studying, I realised the Ministry's technology is actually pretty lousy."
"And now, I have an even more brilliant idea."
"What is it?"
"Eat first."
