Monica froze stiff.
Vaelyth, on the other hand, was silent. It seemed she had once guessed at something, only no one had ever said it so clearly in front of her as now.
Yuna slowly took a step forward, her gaze sweeping over the two of them before she said softly: "The two of you have probably felt it as well, haven't you? Wounds heal very slowly, memories sometimes grow hazy. There are times when you feel only a single day has passed, but in your heart it's as though you've been waiting for many years."
Monica pressed her lips together, her hand unconsciously clenching into a fist.
Vaelyth closed her eyes. After a moment, she softly said: "That's right. I have felt that the memories of my people are growing dim. I still remember that I have to return, but sometimes, I can no longer remember exactly what scent my forest once carried."
Vaelyth's voice was very calm, but it was that very calmness that made the atmosphere even heavier.
