"If you can't take down the enemy with a neutron warhead, you have too few warheads." Thoughts of one of The Sun's Controllers, before firing a neutron warhead.
------
Alysanne breathed a sigh of relief, feeling the voices disappear from her mind. She had to admit, it was terrifying to speak with a Chaos God; the level of existence was entirely different. Knowing that her father did this daily for over a thousand years only made her admire Aenar even more.
She felt she would go mad if she spoke with Slaanesh for too long, not just imagining things, but truly felt she would go insane hearing the murmurs of the Chaos God. She understood that the level of existence was entirely different; there was an abyss between her and Slaanesh. The mere presence of the Chaos God could collapse all matter and even fragment the universe.
"Is everything alright, Princess?" Sigismund, who didn't know what was happening, asked with a slightly concerned tone. Although he didn't know what was going on, he noticed the princess's solemn expression.
"It's nothing, I just remembered that I'm just a small human." Alysanne replied, letting out a long sigh laden with worry, helplessness, and finally, relief. If the sky were to fall, there was someone to hold it up; she didn't need to worry about the Chaos Gods, at least not at this stage.
[Exiting the Warp!]
[1 ... 2 ... 3… Warp Exit Successfully Executed.]
[Checking defense systems, thrusters, and weapons…]
[Integrity at 99%.]
[The Sun is Operational and Undamaged from Warp Travel.]
[Entering Miller II System!]
[Target Successfully Located – Miller IV Asteroid Belt!]
Alysanne calmly listened to the voices of the controllers and all the soldiers around. Each reported the specific status of the Gloriana-Class Imperial Ship. She approached the window and saw tens of thousands of asteroids linked by gigantic steel chains. Each asteroid had different sizes and shapes, but the main asteroid of the Miller IV Belt was the size of a small moon.
Within the bowels of this asteroid, there was a human base used by special guilds for trafficking foreign slaves and even Spices, highly hallucinogenic drugs. Of course, on paper, such things were not true, but everyone knew what happened far from the God-Emperor's eyes.
However, Alysanne frowned, seeing that the passage was blocked and they would have to clear a path through the asteroids floating around an area the size of two light-years.
"It seems they knew we would see." Alysanne commented with a laugh, her eyes narrowing, partially hiding her purple eyes. There was a murderous look on her face. Knowing about traitors in the Imperial Senate was no surprise, but the operation was high-level and highly classified, which meant there was a high-ranking senator hidden in the Senate!
"But if they think mere asteroids can protect them, they are deeply mistaken." Alysanne murmured with a beautiful and elegant smile gracing her lips.
"Point the neutron warheads and await my orders." Alysanne gave the orders without hesitation. She crossed her arms and continued speaking. "Make them hear my words."
"Yes, Princess Regent." All controllers spoke at once. At the bow of The Sun, the entire exterior began to deform, gradually revealing three cannons of different sizes, one larger than the other.
[Attention Heretics!]
[I am Alysanne of House Targaryen, Crown Princess of the Ruby Throne and Princess Regent of the Imperium of Humanity!]
[For crimes against the Laws of the Imperium, High Treason, Murder, Theft, Piracy, and Spreading False Doctrines. You are being judged at this moment.]
[If you open the passage and surrender peacefully, I promise a fair, impartial, and indifferent trial. If you refuse, I promise you will be executed immediately for the Crimes of High Treason.]
Alysanne's voice echoed throughout the Miller IV Belt; her beautiful voice sounded like an angel speaking, but this angel came with a flaming sword and carrying the divine punishment of the God-Emperor of Humanity.
Inside the asteroid, a meeting was taking place when they heard Princess Targaryen's words echoing everywhere. The eyes of all the men and women present fixed on the elderly-looking man sitting with a cigar between his lips.
"What do we do, Baron Hopkins?" asked the woman, her lips trembling. Fear was etched on her face, as a hologram appeared in the center of the dark oak table, showing a fleet of Imperial ships stopped in front of the Miller IV Asteroid Belt.
The Sardaukar's emblem sent shivers down everyone's spines. The reputation of the Legion that guarded the Sacred Planet of Planetos was terrible. Even the Inquisition, which instilled fear in everyone, did not cause as much fear in people as the Sardaukar.
The Inquisition at least tries to convert you before burning you alive, but the Sardaukar don't care about that and simply exterminate anyone who dares to disobey the laws of the Imperium.
"Do what? Surrender? Don't be foolish, Atanasia." Baron Hopkins replied in a calm tone. Although old, he looked muscular and imposing, showing that even using the Elixir of Life, he still trained daily.
"If we surrender, we will be killed by our compatriots. We probably won't even reach Planetos before being poisoned and killed." The Baron spoke with a sigh, releasing a cloud of smoke.
"Our only option is to flee and start gathering to deal with the Emperor's dogs." The Baron spoke calmly, causing everyone to calm down; the basic quality of remaining calm during any crisis was essential for any leader.
However, the Baron was not as optimistic about his own words. If it were anyone else commanding the Sardaukar, he might have some hope, but it was the Crown Princess of the Ruby Throne herself!
He had no doubt that there was a Primarch on the Gloriana-Class Imperial Ship, The Sun. Baron Hopkins was old, much older than the young people around him; he personally saw a Primarch on a raid against the Orks. A scene he would never forget in his life.
The Primarch landed on the planet, and the next moment, the entire planet was glacial. It was such a shocking scene that he would never forget it, even in his dreams. The most terrifying thing was that the Emperor had twenty-two of these monsters!
"Let's evacuate as quickly as possible." The Baron knew he couldn't waste time, or the princess would lose patience as time passed. At the same time, he was grateful for the princess's inexperience in dealing with them.
"Princess, we will surrender; please, just wait a moment, and we will open the passage." The Baron, to buy time, simply sent a message back to The Sun while quickly walking towards the hangar, where there was a ship for him to escape. Assuming he entered the Warp, he could flee to any corner of the universe.
Sigismund looked at Alysanne and said nothing to advise her. Although Alysanne was inexperienced when it came to war mobilization, one shouldn't forget that she was a veteran politician and fought tooth and nail to get resources in the Imperial Senate.
"It seems I'm being treated like a young and inexperienced princess." Alysanne laughed, guessing Baron Hopkins's thoughts; she couldn't help but find it amusing. None of her political adversaries would dare try to deceive her with something so simple and crude.
[Baron, your intentions to flee are as clear as guessing the sun will rise tomorrow.]
Alysanne's voice echoed again in the Space Guilds' trading post. A large number of ships simply took off and dared to cross the asteroid belt as if they were Anakin and Luke Skywalker.
Unlike these two excellent and legendary pilots in another universe, these people were naturally not the protagonists. This could be seen by the constant explosions against the asteroids.
These people were far from the best pilots, but this was not a rare scene, especially where technology usually controls ships, assisting long-distance travel.
[Since you refused my mercy towards you, you will die.]
Alysanne spoke in a cold and indifferent tone.
"Fire."
