December 26 1991
Christmas was over and the work begins again.
The first order of business... meeting with the council.
I'm a bit worried about meeting them. In my past life all these characters were on screen, played by actors. Now I am meeting the real flesh and blood individuals.
The elves had prepared the stateroom for their arrival.
I had my suit washed and pressed for the occasion.
Two hours later our guest arrived and man... their entrances were amazing.
The first to arrive was Mother Earth who practically spawned out of a Christmas tree.
One second no one was there, the next... POOF! Mother Earth steps into the room, filling it with the smell of earth and vegetation.
The next to arrive was the Tooth Fairy and Cupid. Together they flew through the open window within the stateroom.
Third was the Easter Bunny who jumped through a large hole on the hard wood floor that opened up. Once he lands he taps his foot twice on the floor, which causes the hole to disappear.
At the far end of the room is a sofa that the elves carried in and when I asked why they said it was for the Sandman.
In the air above the sofa grains of sand being to appear, swirling like a tornado before expanding into a human shape, who is... asleep.
Finally a large circle of sparks beings to form in mid-air which slowly expands outwards to reveal an image on the other side. A person in a yellow robe stepped through into the stateroom. The Sorcerer Supreme.
Ladies and gentlemen I present to you the Council of Legendary Figures!
All the members took a seat, including me, then Mother Earth addressed all the members.
"Welcome everyone to this specially meeting. Today we adjourn to meet a potentially new member to our council. Not since the first Santa Claus has a human held the position, but today the second stands before us. Lets us all welcome... Scott Calvin"

"Sandman! Wake up!"
"UH!?! WHAaaa? O... Hello *Yawn"
Standing back up I thank everyone.
"I know you all have visited the North Pole before, but still... welcome everyone. As you may be aware I am human and before putting on the coat my name was Scott Calvin. I lived in Lakeside, Illinois. Originally I didn't believe that something so... fantastical existed in this world, but standing before you all now... I will use everything I have and everything available to me to be the best Santa Claus the world has ever known."

The Sorcerer Supreme speaks up
"Well said and I believe you will achieve the goal you have set for yourself, but before you can truly begin there are some rules you need to be aware of.
"The Sorcerer is right each of us many have our own tasks and missions, but we all share the same goal. To spread happiness, cheer, and "magic" throughout the world." Said Cupid
"Humans do believe in us, especially among the young, but no one has the image or the fame as the Santa Claus. Knowledge of that name/ legacy has spread to every corner of the world." Spoke the Tooth Fairy
"You may not be as active as the Tooth Fairy, Sandman, or Cupid, but your actions will influence the emotions felt around the world. So Scott Calvin are you prepared to be the Santa Claus. To accept the burdens and trials that come with that name?" Asked Mother Earth.
"Yes... I do."
"Then with the power invested in me by this council I propose that we accept your appointment as Santa Claus. All in Favor?"
"AYE!" X5
...
"SANDMAN!"
"AH!!!... *Yawn Aye"
"The vote is unanimous. Congratulations Santa"
"Thank you"
