"Sister-in-law, don't you know the Governor?"
Maria Carter's eyes suddenly lit up, but she paused without finishing her sentence. Remembering the scene at Saint Mary's Kindergarten, she hurriedly added, "Last time at the kindergarten, the Governor looked at little Nian with such affection. He's helped you a lot before! If the Governor can step in, even if Secretary-General Sutton is backing Althaven, it shouldn't be hard to handle!"
Emily Parker gently shook her head, "Unless there's concrete evidence to prove Althaven is related to Charles Smith."
She paused, thinking of Uncle Mason's usually impartial personality, and continued, "Uncle Mason is a man of principle, but Charles is his family. Going to him without solid evidence won't help, and it might alert the enemy.
If Charles gets wind of this and destroys all the clues, it'll be even harder for us to investigate Althaven in the future."
